Beautiful setting and nature. There was still slope on mountain. Beautiful lay out of lodge, which make experiencing of nature great. Effort to keep rooms warm. Fireplace in rooms were already burning when we arrived. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Thando. We had vehicle problems and they were very helpful.
Decor and furniture are outdated and need updating. Too high tariffs. Not value for money. Breakfast can be better - it was tasty, but more options can be given to guests (English breakfast).

Fantastic setting with incredible service from the team working there.
It’s starting to look a little tired.

Breakfast was good....very tasty
The staff was always very friendly and helpful!
Dinner was exceptional.....I did not expect fine dining in such a remote place, but it was the best ever!
The rooms need some up-grading...it is staring to look a bit out-dated!
The tablecloths needs to be replaced...most of them had holes in them!

Loved the room and the view from the room overlooking the bell river/mountain stream. food was excellent and the hosts (Bianca and Keenan) were welcoming and attentive. couples spa treatment was excellent and good value.
The public roads to the area are in bad shape. We managed to reach in and 2WD vehicle, but if I were to revisit I would definitely opt for a 4WD.

The location is breathtaking, the views from our room were spectacular. Bianca and Dillan were exceptional and did everything to make our stay comfortable. The staff were very hospitable. The spa treatments were very reasonable and Grace is a magnificent therapist
The road to the Lodge is very difficult and requires a vehicle with high clearance. We were completely unprepred for this. The owner of this establishment should consider upgrading the road, at least the last 3.2 km to the lodge.
The lodge in general requires an upgrade. It is looking tired and in need of some general maintenance.

The setting is spectacular.
The managers were very hospitable and inviting.
The spa treatment was wonderful and value for money.
This lodge is unfortunately no longer a 5star venue. Our group had the feeling throughout our stay that the managers are making do with what they have. This could be an amazing venue but the owners will have to spend capital. The rooms and common area require a complete make-over. The interior and furniture are bland, uninspiring and outdated. The mattress in our room was sagging, the pillows are too hard (no feather option), the couch and chair was dirty and certain curtain hooks are missing. Maintenance are lagging throughout the buildings and the overall feeling is one of neglect, especially on the wooden deck and wooden window frames. There was heavy rain and there were a number of roof leaks.
The wi-fi was very unreliable. There are only 7 rooms and it is illogical that all guests require different passwords for different devices. Some of us had to do work emails and calls which was challenging.
The lodge has not adapted to load shedding. The generator was unreliable and keep on cutting out - there was no warm water the last night and morning. A 5 star lodge should have invested in alternative options by now.
The food was disappointing and not what one would expect from a 5 star venue. The staff are pleasant but need training.
The last 3km road to the lodge is in bad condition and has to be fixed. Not all vehicles would be able to make it up the mountain to the lodge.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend the lodge to anyone until it has been upgraded.

We were expecting five star hospitality but received so much more. Our engagement was so exceptional, due to the management and their wonderful professional staff.

The Tenahead is one of those destinations that are on top of the bucket list of a 4x4 enthusiast, the location is stunning, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the other facilities very stylish
The room we stayed in showed signs of wear and tear - the service staff was very nice, but could do with a bit more training to live up to the standard of the hotels rating - the attention to detail should improve

The location is exceptional. The lodge is stunning and rooms and bathrooms amazing. lovely products to use in the bathroom. A fire made in your room daily. A higher clearance vehicle is necessary to get there especially in the rainy season. Lovely area to hike and ride mountain bikes. Stunning fly fishing. Grace at the Spa does a brilliant massage.
A little more options for vegetarian meals and bread baked at the lodge. The bread used is the plastic packet variety and having bread baked on site would make a huge difference to the eating experience

The location. The birds at that altitude, including a Bearded vulture.
Poor roads to get to the lodge.

Beautiful beautiful place! Location breathtaking and the food exceptional. Friendly staff.
Place need a little TLC especially around the venue and on the lookout deck and some broken windows, but otherwise, fantastic establishment.

Loved the location and views
Output from the kitchen was not consistent. We have one absolutely amazing dinner prepared by the chef(night one when we were the only guests) Breakfast and lunchtime toasted sandwiches were very disappointing, clearly prepared by untrained staff. The second dinner was chef-prepared, but not of the same quality as the first. We were informed that the kitchen had "run out of food". This is unacceptable and the management need to plan better.
I also believe that the property is in need of some maintenance. In that harsh climate this would be ongoing, but I question whether current management are up to the task. While welcoming, I suspect that they are not as well trained and professional as they could be.

The views are stunning. The lodge is spacious and very comfortably furnished. The room we had was big with great views and it was lovely to see the sunrise from the comfort of the bed. The staff were all efficient and friendly. Lovely walks in the area. I am fussy about coffee and it was great to be able to get good lattes and capaccinos.

Location fantastic, view from bedroom and bathroom out of this world. Preparation of room at night with fireplace lit very nice. Carla and Geoff were most helpful.
Some maintenance needed, especially on doors. Kitchen and meals not 5 star standard. Maybe breakfast a little before 8 and faster service, especially for early departures.

This is a place to get away from it all. Off the beaten track in a beatiful mountainous setting at 2500m above sea level. Spectacular views from spacious rooms. Fireplaces everywhere. Great food. Geoff and Carla are especially helpful and informative.
Although nothing to do with the quality or experience of Tenahead Lodge, road conditions to and from the lodge are pretty rough and should be considered when planning a visit. The interiors are sparse, and are showing their age. The beds are not great.
