Good food, good room, great setting with great views. Went for relaxation and this is what we did.

We found this to be a lovely hotel in a beautiful location, not to far from busy Bowness-on-Windermere so that you couldn’t walk to it, however calm enough away with the picturesque side of the Lake District. Hotel and room including the restaurant was lovely and beautifully decorated. The menu was to our preference, right, 5-6 options per course, locally sourced and well presented, tasted excellent. All the staff from reception, bar, managers and owners made you feel welcome and at ease. We have booked again.

Lovely will be returning

The size of the room was brilliant for our little family with a toddler , and the location was perfect

Our room was located over the bar area what was not ideal being with a 2 year old toddler when trying to get her to sleep

Delicious food and wonderful hosts!

The hotel was understaffed so there was a bit of wait sometimes to get served, but everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming!

Hotel was lovely, and the staff were very pleasant. The view of the lake was lovely from our room.

Travel cot had seen better days - and we were charged for it which wasn’t mentioned until checking out. Also a service charge in the restaurant that again wasn’t mentioned until checking out.

Nice terrace overlooking lake ,breakfast good.

Room was small, water pressure in bathroom was low, bathroom needed refurbishing. Very compact room for the price we paid.

Beautiful Place To Stay In A Fantastic Location

Fantastically clean, wonderful, friendly team. Beautiful food and great range of drink. Lovely breakfast with everything you need. Rooms outstanding with stunning views. Great picturesque grounds. Huge roomy secure drive and carpark. Location is absolutely ideal, not far from town and amenities. Everything is catered for with your interests in mind. Thank you so much. Highly recommended to all.

Just could do with an update of menu or a specials board, so you're not having to choose the same dishes every night especially during a long stay. Food and service is absolutely not to fault! Just need few more choices.

Fantastic hotel set in a beautiful location. Staff worked hard to ensure everything as you would like. Compliments to the kitchen brigade, what better a way to start the morning than with American pancakes. Rooms clean and excellent views. Perfect location to either walk to Bowness or get a local taxis. Definitely will be back

Just a one night stay but a good base if wanted to stay longer.

Lovely country house hotel with views to Windermere and within walking distance of Bowness. Meals were good and well presented. would stay again

Breakfast was really good, plenty of choice. Had dinner one night, choice not great but food lovely. Staff very friendly

Bathroom needed updating. Location - further out of the town itself than we realised - on an unlit road and no pavement - not easy walking back from Bowness on an evening

The service overall was excellent and the restaurant dinner excellent .

The bathroom of bedroom 30 was a little jaded and run down, considering the charge. Our billing was wrong. Lunch was overcharged.

Absolutely fantastic

We had an awesome overnight stay at this hotel 4 adults and a baby.We turned up early morning but we were able to order drinks and leave our car in the car park so we could go exploring.Check-in was quick and we got a short tour of the amenities bar lounge dining area etc.We were showed up to our rooms which was a nice touch, our rooms were excellent.We had a magnificent view of the lake from our room.We dined at the hotel and had the a la carte menu which was delicious and the prices were reasonable.They also provided a cot and a high chair for my grandson.We will definitely visit this hotel again.

Ok place to stay in the Lake District

Spacious room - we are a couple with 1 dog and could fit his crate with no issue. Lovely bathroom with powerful shower. Great to be on the ground floor so the dog could go in and out from the garden. Food was very good, we ate at the restaurant for dinner a couple of times.

Breakfast was nice but would have been good to have a wider choice beyond cooked breakfast. The room was noisy above all in the morning because the two main windows (kept open, it was hot!) were in front of the hotel main entrance and entrance to the car park. In terms of dog friendliness we don’t think the hotel is dog friendly but more dog accepting. There is only one dining room you can use for breakfast / dinner with your dog but it doesn’t have proper chairs and tables to consume a meal at and you have to let the staff know in advance if you need a table there or outside. The few times we had our meals alone in the normal restaurant m the service was much quicker and efficient. We were a bit let down.

Fabulous hotel!

Lovely staff: Beautiful location: Fabulous breakfast: Fantastic service. Would definitely stay again 🙂

Very minor issues: No snacks/sandwiches after 9pm (we were told in advance but for residents seems limited) Limited milk, tea, coffee in room ( had to ask for more but very forthcoming)
