The staff were super friendly and helpful, they gave us a map and showed us where to go and what to do in Cairo. Breakfast was great and filling! They upgraded us to the room with private bathroom which was really kind and we appreciated ! Working AC was amazing !
Unfortunately the entrance and stairway leading to the hostel is very dirty and uninviting.

Excellent location, and friendly staff. Breakfast was good.
Tips for fellow travellers. Use Uber whenever you can, it will save you a looooot of hassle.
The hostel is at the top of the building so carrying luggage up is quite exhausting. It was ok for us but maybe too challenging for people with a heavy suitcase.

Large room and large bathrooms. Breakfast was good. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location was fantastic. Did not have any issue with noise. Safe.
Need to climb lots of stairs, but I like exercise so didn't mind.

The breakfast was really tasty and I liked the position of the hostel, very close to the Egyptian Museum.
It´s only like 3 floors to arrive, keep it in mind.

Price/quality, location - near metro, Egyptian museum & shopping, they organize for good prices the transport to/from airport, round-trips to pyramids, to the Black and white desert, and many more.
Same breakfast every day. The coffee and tee can be better

Good location to get to places in Cairo. Fair price for the facility. Breakfast was good and place cleaned everyday. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Not a great dislike but no elevator and long walk up to hostel. So with baggage could be a chore.

The Freedom Hostel was where we had stayed our first night in Cairo and now we were at the end of our three week holiday in Egypt, needing a few good hours of sleep between our camping adventure in the White Desert (arranged for us through the hostel at a decent price) and our 3.30am departure for the airport. The hostel’s comfortable kingsized bed in the quiet room 305 with its wonderful hot shower certainly met our needs. We also found some excellent budget Egyptian food at nearby Kazaz restaurant. The Freedom Hostel is on the third floor (three flights of stairs to each landing, so up 9 flights in total) of an older building which is somewhat dark and forbidding to enter, but once inside, the common areas are nicely kept (with touches of Greco-Roman elegance) and the smiles and friendly hospitality of the desk staff light up the area even more. Given our very early departure we thought we might have to forego breakfast, but the excellent Ahmed packed a boxed breakfast for us, which we gladly ate at the airport. During our stay in Egypt, we had accommodation that was classier, but none that was friendlier, or better value, or more conveniently located. Freedom hostel is a great place to stay in central Cairo — highly recommended.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Freedom Hostel. We had a clean and spacious private room with four single beds and a great hot shower in central Cairo for an unbeatable price. The breakfast, which is prepared by a team of women who come in in the mornings, includes traditional Egyptian fare such as fuul and mini felafels. It is generous and tasty, if a little unpunctual on the morning we had it. We were trying to get to the Egyptian museum in Tahrir square for 9am opening. Fortunately this must-see attraction in Cairo is only about a 15 minute walk from the hostel. The Mohamed Naguib metro (300m away) would also take you in one stop, and by various other routes to Ramses Train station, Coptic Cairo and other points of interest around the city, so the hostel is extremely well located. The Freedom Hostel staff are exceptional, from manager Eslam’s initial welcome by email shortly after booking, to the rest of the team on site who man the desk 24 hours a day and are unfailingly cheerful and helpful. The wifi is great too.

Islam and the staff are extremely friendly and are genuine when it comes to helping their guests.
An example of this is when I missed my wallet at the room when I was checking out, the staff and Islam kept the wallet and all its contents safe for me and even ensured that I got the wallet back when I returned to Cairo to board my flight back home. A huge shout out to Mr Islam for their exceptional kindness towards guests.
They will also be able to help you set up tours and cruise packages at very good rates, this was very useful for us when we landed at Freedom Hostel
Location is exactly at Downtown Cairo and that means all the best restaurants, markets and entertainment are nearby. Also, the Giza Pyramids and Museum are close by too.
Nothing much here, dont go by how the place looks from the outside. The hostel is maintained really well inside and rooms are very clean.

The place is super well located, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, just around 10 minutes walk to the Egyptian Museum. The breakfast was good with Egyptian food. Staff are very nice and helpful, always willing to help you with tips and recommendations. Plus, they speak different languages , making communication easier. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would repeat.
While overall cleanliness was alright, we found a cockroach crawling around the room, which is always unpleasant. Everything else was really nice

This hostel is like a little hidden oasis in Cairo! At first, when we arrived in the middle of the night, I was worried it would not be very good as the building looked very old & in disrepair. I also did not expect the hostel to be located on the fourth floor but once we climbed the stairs and rang the bell, we received a lovely, warm welcome even though it was 02.00am. Our rooms were spacious, clean & comfortable. Showers and toilets were functional and clean. Breakfast was superb with bread, jam, salad, beans. We also made use and appreciated the laundry service. Finally, the location was great. We loved the walk to the Cairo museum, our visit to the Citadel and the surrounding restaurants. The rolled ice-cream at Sinbad’s is the best!!!! Our stay at Freedom Hostel gave us a great introduction to Cairo! Thank you Mohammad, Eslam and team.

Giant room, we were only two but there were 4 single beds. The staff were super nice, they even helped us to book a ride to the airport in the last day. The location is the greatest value of this hotel: right in one of the main streets of Cairo, but in a place without much transit, and, therefore, without much noise
The breakfast started only at 8am, and our tour throught Cairo started at the same time each day, which means we didn't have time to eat breakfast. Maybe it could start a little earlier

Very friendly and helpful staff. They help you in everything you need. In our case, we had to wait a few hours to take the bus and they let us stay as long as we needed. Also, I forgot a jacket and they keep it for me until I return to Cairo in a few days.

Very clean for the egyptian standards. 24hours reception. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
It is located on the 4th floor of a high ceiling building without elevator. For us it was not a problem, just mention it in case that someone has problem.
