Beautiful, extensive property near the highlands of Santa Cruz. The villas are extremely comfortable and spacious. We were upgraded to stay in a two bedroom villa and it was pure luxury. Beautiful view over the vegetation down to the ocean. Bonus was the massive lava tunnel on the property.
The food at the restaurant was just okay and service was a bit hit or miss. Also, the grounds were landscaped but then overgrown so not sure what the plan was but just ends up looking like someone hasn't mowed the lawn. But these are just nit picky things and overall this was the most luxurious hotel we found in the Galapagos.

The grounds were beautiful.
It was not close to the port, so if you wanted to explore that area, you would have to take a taxi out there.

The room was great, clean and comfortable; good menu for dinner and the buffet breakfast was nice; the staff were very friendly and helpful.
There was work being done inside the main dining area, very dusty, so forced to eat outside…so insects a bit bothersome during evening meals. Should have been given reduced rate since full access to the property was limited.

Nice location.Spacious. private.
Rooms and in particular the mattresses on the beds are in serious need of replacement and renovation. Broken bed springs and creaking bed frames made it impossible to sleep. If renovated this could be a wonderful property.

I was a stunning hotel, staff wanted to help in any way, they did a personalised schedule for me during my stay.
Also went out of their way to cater for my vegan diet. Even on their bbq buffet the chef had prepared me a full vegan feast. I had been out there for 5 weeks volunteer working in another island, so this was my treat on my way back home. I was made to feel so special, it was the finishing touch to a special time.
There was nothing I could complain about, I would have to think really hard to come up with something!!! So I can’t fault my experience.

The restaurant service and food were wonderful. Tours arranged by the hotel were spectacular.
The location of the hotel was remote and a $25 cab ride to anywhere! I did not realize it would not be walking distance to town and that it would take a 30 -minute drive to get into town where all the sights, restaurants, shops, etc., are located. Royal Palm is located in the highlands which is very rainy and chilly in August through at least December. A 30- minute drive to the town and you have dry and warm weather! There were plenty of nice hotels in the town of Puerto Ayora. Remote location was the problem with this hotel if you like exploring local area.
Also, I requested the sales agent for the hotel to provide airport shuttle service to the hotel on arrival but none was provided.

Beautiful property.
Terrible breakfast, same runny eggs every single day and no variety whatsoever.

This place is amazing. Staff went above and beyond. My bf proposed to me on our last night and the restaurant staff gave him a hand with the proposal it was amazing. Hotel also helped him decorate our bed with beautiful flowers I have travelled a lot in my life but I have to say the shower in Villa 2 was the most amazing shower I have taken.
everything was amazing. How can anyone complain about paradise.

The place is great, the surroundings are really beautiful and the villas are convenient and remote from each other. Staff were amazing! Helped us with a lot of things
The location is far from the main part of the island, can be about 20-25min by taxi. There's a 10$ fix price for taxis, so it's not too bad, but you'll probably only do this ride once a day.
The beds weren't that comfortable, mattress was too hard for our taste
The restaurant, while good, was overpriced

Beautiful location and lovely bungalow accomodation. Very quiet and close to nature. Hotel organized a massage service which was excellent
Overcharged for airport transfer and breakfast was nice but way too expensive.

The location was great. If you like to be in town then this hotel is not for you. It is a short taxi to the closes town but the property is awesome and quiet. Great to have quiet after a long tour on the islands. The staff is great! We booked a tour through another venue, the hotel staff called them to make sure we were taken care of. I forgot to arrange pick up but the hotel staff sent a car to pick up the family without me asking them to, just great attention to detail. The staff walks you to your room to insure every thing is perfect. Day one our AC went out so they upgraded us moved luggage into new room. I travel a lot for my job and rarely have a seen such attention from a hotel staff. Thank you for making a wonderful trip that much better. We will return.
I liked everything.

Enjoyed our Preferred Guest upgrade from casitas to villas...especially the fireplace on a damp, rainy night.
Our driver/waiter/jack of all trades Gustavo was terrific.
The lava tunnels were very cool to see.

The Royal Palms Hotel is in a stunning location in the highlands above Puerto Ayora - a $10 taxi ride from the port. The hotel sits on 500 hectares (over 1000) acres of lush fauna and is even more beautiful than its pictures portray. The entire staff - I mean everyone - is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is charming; all food is fresh, cooked to order, nicely plated and reasonable for a five star location. The grounds are unusually beautiful and fun to explore. They include the most interesting and extensive lava tunnel we visited during our stay on the Galapagos. The hotel provides a hard-hat and assigns a staff member to serve as your guide through the tunnel for an additional fee of five dollars. Our stay was principally for R & R after more than a week of extensive sightseeing throughout the archipelago. However, the hotel would gladly arrange daily or extended visits to other locations on the island, or by boat or plane, to the other islands. Christina Gonzalez, a hotel manager, was off-site when we visited, but had greatly facilitated our entire Galapagos experience prior to our arrival. In summary, the hotel is a gem.
