Shower was a pain to get just right temp, switching from hot to cold unless you had it on high pressure we had kids with and there was no bath as an alternative

Exceptional stuff, everything was perfect really! Took breakfast and DIY burger basket and prepared our meals. The hot tub under the sky was amazing! We had a really good time there.

Loved our stay here. We did a total of 4 nights/ 5 days to get a good feel of the area and what it has to offer. Mountain biking trail was loads of fun. Hot tub was amazing (it can get very hot if you keep it going long enough). Having the farm stall was very convenient, and their milk is damn delicious! They sell wood there which is very convenient. Apart from the mountain bikes, there are also E-bikes (which were far too costly for us. Perhapse offer half day offers as a middle ground). Canoing is free, which is a massive bonus. Stunning forrest walks. The staff are always super friendly!

We struggled with getting the hot water in our shower to work. It would be borderline cold/Luke warm, then suddenly become hot as hell for 2 seconds before turning ice cold, and we'd begin the process again. We did complain about this, and we're told that it would be looked into, but after the end of night 4 we gave up and decided to have a proper shower when we got home. Luckily we had the hot tub to rinse off most of the muck during our stay - but obviously couldn't use soap or wash my hair for 5 days while there. Certain items at the farm-stall disappointed me - such as R48 for a 1 liter of boxed Rhodes orange juice (was hoping for fresh juice but oh well). I felt that more local products from neighboring businesses should have been included - especially since we are from out of town and like to try local flavors and produce (although their own Farm milk was out of this world - but I would have loved more of that farm-y selection in the shop, and supported other local farmers in the meantime). I had a look at their pre-made basket selection, and realised that it would be cheaper to buy everything individually at their own stall (and end up with more stuff to last a few days). Lastly - there IS loadshedding, and we were just missing some sort of a light or significant candle to help us through it. We were given a couple of small tea-light candles at the beginning of our stay, but they burn out so quickly. It would have been nice if the staff would pop in ever other day to ask if they need to replenish any items such as candles and towels - especially for long-stayers. And one last - probably silly thing for me to pick on - is that since they are a dairy farm, it would have been lovely to have just the tinyist jug of fresh milk waiting for us when we first arrived. Nothing crazy, but just enough to make a cup of coffee after driving 8 hours to get there.

Everything was amazing, so many activities for our kids to enjoy. Fantastic service and convenience shop. So many birds to see. Hot tub 💜

Never before have I given a property a 10 rating. This stay was fantastic. Wilna and Paige made it so much better. The cottage had everthing we needed. Everthing was maticulously thought through. The onsite shop had everthing we needed. The forrest walk was an added bonus. The hot tub was to die for. My daughter loved the pets. Wilna had to remind her she could not leave with the cat. LOL

I loved everthing. I would make a suggestion though....... white towels for a farmstay probably isnt the best idea.

The cottage had everything we needed and a well equipped kitchen. we loved the hot tub and bbq and using the fishing rods with the canoes.

Location and cottage overall was beautiful. The hot tub was also a bonus as was the space and layout of the Forge

A couple of things really put a dampener on our stay: 1. The drains seemed to be clogged resulting in a really bad smell and this weird gurgling every time anyone opened a tap or flushed the toilet. I'm reluctant to believe that this was a new issue as I could see a drain overflowing when we arrived 2. Small things not working or not attended to in the cottage like the Nespresso machine or the tree above the hot tub not being trimmed. 3. That the shop was meant to opened until 5pm- this was communicated initially and then on the day we were told that the shop was closing at 2pm (we were informed at 1:30pm on the day). The owners were aware that our group was just finishing a multi-day hike so being able to plan for this in advance would have been appreciated 4. Somehow I felt the service lacking, I was told to reach out should we need or want anything and the responses to my messages were really slow in comparison to the speed at which my messages were responded to prior to payment for example
