It was a standalone house with no neighbours, one level, open plan, next to the pool and hood bbq area and short walk into the GORGEOUS Black’s Beach. If you’re here for a good beach holiday then it’s fabulous, if you’re here to be in Mackay each day, then drive is a bit annoying (we had three kids and getting them in and out of the car was just something extra to factor in). The property is fully self contained, kitchen is well supplied, the bath and shower is great for kids and the TV is fully connected to wifi with all the apps which is great for family movie night. The open living space is excellent for social time, but it’s all concrete and polished tiles (which makes sense coz of the beach location). just bring mats or something soft if you have babies… Terry is fabulously welcoming and very kind. Thanks for a great stay :-)

The bathroom could use a good deep clean to get rid of the mould, the beds are comfy but super soft and the mattresses and mattress protectors are full of stains and could use updating.

Place is quite old and needs a revamp - curtains need replacing and kitchen cupboards do not close properly. Gardens need a lot of attention.

Great location, really good pools, sports courts with free equipment to use, amazing bbq area, spacious villa which was well equipped. Terry was really helpful when we arrived & had some great advice!

Everything! From the superior customer service at check in, the beautiful spacious clean beach front villa, the secure carport parking, the pools cleanliness and temperature, location to the beach, amenities available like tennis, and friendliness of other people staying. My kids had a ball having nerf gun wars with other kids who were staying at the same time as us. This is what school holidays are all about, making fun memories. We can’t wait to come back again soon it was such a relaxing and fun break away.

The Shores is a great place to stay, particularly if you have children. The bedrooms are spacious and air conditioned, beds comfortable. The living and dining areas are very spacious and appointed with anything you need for a holiday. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. While a little out of town, it is adjacent the beach and has dining options and a shop close by if you want to self-cater. Overall we were delighted with the Shores and will definitely look to stay there on our next trip to Mackay.

The pool, location and access to the beach was good

The townhouse we stayed in had a bad musty smell. The sofa bed that one of us had to sleep on was filthy and uncomfortable.

could be a little cheaper. extra bathroom would also have been nice.

Excellent location with great access to Blacks Beach. The owners Terry and Anne were extremely helpful and accommodating.
