impeccable service and incredible views of Rio

- Sisi who manages the house is so friendly and kind and really looked after us - Delicious breakfasts and Sisi made us lots of fresh fruit juices which were delicious - Incredible view over Rio and sugarloaf from the terrace with comfy day beds - House design and decor is beautiful, pool is lovely

- you do have to get a cab or an Uber everywhere due to the location and there’s no shops, restaurants near by

great view but poor English

the view was just amazing! during the day and at night as well. The interior of the common area was super. The breakfast was nice - always different fruits and juices, sometimes eggs, sandwiches - it’s tasty but a bit boring if 5 days in a row. The hostess was a nice woman, generally helpful, she even found a birthday present for me, it was touchy.

- the hostess was nice, but she didn’t speak a single word in English, and we don’t speak any Portuguese. it would be ok if both sides used some google translate on a smartphone which I tried to do, but she just wanted to talk to us in Portuguese and steadily asked questions which we couldn’t answer. Of course for 5 days I learned basic words, but anyway it was an everyday annoying confusion I’m not used to, speaking 6 languages. - there was no sign about mini-bar, no prices, no warning, nothing. We just had water in the fridge and normally it’s a “welcome drink” in hot countries. Once I asked for a bottle of water in the evening and asked how much it cost, but the answer was like “no, that’s ok”. But upon departure suddenly we were charged for 10 bottles. It wasn’t a big amount for us but again confusing. - The rooms are a bit “tired”, the villa needs to be a bit repaired. The bath didn’t work, fortunately we haven’t expected taking a bath, but would be good to know the condition of the room during the booking. - the location is not really “touristic”. It’s ok if you always use Uber or rent a car, or you like walking long distances up and down the hills.

Tranquil and magical getaway in roaring Rio de Janeiro

It’s a very pretty place in the most beautiful neigborhood of rio de janeiro. The hostess was amazingly sweet and did everything to make sure I had the best possible stay. I especially liked the fresh fruit in the morning and her patience with me not understanding Portuguese very well.

I had booked a room with a bath tub, actually I especially picked this pousada for that reason. Then, 60 minutes before I would go there, I got a message the room was not available. I did not get an explanation or an apalogy until I specifically asked for it, which I find a bit weird and rude, since I already had a confirmed booking.

Love the service and reception, but missing more of the glam the pictures show

The tailored breakfast was superb!! The view from the balcony outstanding!

The pool is not as pretty as the pictures show. The toilet has some outdated dark tiles, doesn’t match the tropical modern deco from the rest of the house.

Amazing place, views, and Cissa.

Amazing place. Price was great. Cissa is a sweet heart. Waking up to amazing sun rises over sugar loaf, Swimming, great breakfast, relaxing in a hammock. I didn’t want to leave. If you are a normal person, used to low to mid level hotels, you’ll spend most of your time wondering if this place is real and how did you get such a great deal.

Unforgettable stay in the property

I recommend this property for anyone looking for a charming, authentic stay in Rio. We were welcomed amazingly and the rooms were nice, decorated with style, with a very nice view on Rio. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel. Plus, it was very comfortable to have a swimming pool.

The only negative point would be the location, as you need a taxi or a Uber to go to the center of Santa Theresa.

The host was very friendly, kept talking in portugese tho. Location is quiet but easy to get to the copacabana. House and room are incredible and clean!
