I stayed for the last night of a two week holiday and really appreciated the way the Villa was laid out, the vibe of the accommodation (four poster bed, wooden furniture), the location on a quiet street and the super friendly and helpful team running the place.

The place is cool, the rooms have character, the pool is really nice and the breakfast was so so so good. We stayed only our first night before heading north and it was just perfect!
The ac took a white to cool off the room when we arrived it was really hot.

The villa complex was very attractive, the pool was lovely, the staff were friendly and super helpful, the location was quiet but not far from the beach and restaurants, the vegetarian food was excellent.
The room was beautiful but very basic with no bar fridge or tea and coffee making facilities (or TV though this did not bother me). Wi Fi was only available in the restaurant area and was very weak (if more than one person was using it then it dropped out). Ideally wifi would be available in the rooms.

Villa Araliya is a beautiful small complex of rooms and suites straight off the pages of a style magazine. Elegant but welcoming with polished concrete, white pillars and dark wood, We were upgraded to a suite and it was amazing, huge rooms with high vaulted ceilings and a king sized bed. even the standard rooms look like a boutique hotel. Very good ceiling fan and a quiet and effective air con. The staff were all super helpful and friendly. The Villa is a 5 minute walk to the beach and there were a couple of beach bars and a beach restaurant we visited. We also had curry and rice at Araliya which was yummy as was the wine. The pool is perfect - the photos do not do it justice. And they had adopted a puppy abandoned on their doorstep - lovely people cute puppy.
Sometimes took a while for the hot water to come through - not of any real significance.

This hotel is a great spot to enjoy right before flying home! A glorious pool and a wonderful room. We spent a lovely day just reading and swimming under the frangipani trees. Asanka, our host, went out of his way to make sure we had no worries. He prepared great and authentic Sri Lankan food and we had some lovely and interesting chats with him. Highly recommended!

Just an incredible place- tranquil, beautiful. The staff are wonderful and cant do enough for you. Special thanks to Asanka who seems to handle so much but manages to cook the most delicious vegetarian Sri Lankan food. Love the ethos of the owner- Palitha as he looks after rescue dogs, cats and even a friendly tortoise! The pool is fabulous- gets the sun all day.

Highly recommended - we booked 2 nights, ended up staying 5. It’s so relaxed and a tranquil place to stay, especially for a first or last night as nearer to airport than Colombo city. Beach 5 mins walk away, with some nice restaurants/beach bars nearby but definitely get dinner at the Villa Araliya. Some of the most delicious food we ate in a month in Sri Lanka. We got a good value car organised when we needed it, for Colombo Fort. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Big bed, four-poster, with mosquito net. Lovely veranda in our ground floor room. Pool is beautiful. Lots of frangipani trees. The owner and staff were kind, helpful and laid back while giving us everything we needed, and more. Idyllic. We will highly recommend to friends travelling to Sri Lanka.
we liked everything

This was our first stop in Sri Lanka and one of our favourite places. The staff and owner were really lovely warm ad welcoming and we felt immediately at home. The pool was spotless and the whole place was really well maintained. The food was delicious and the kids loved the Italian food. We loved meeting the resident turtle (large terrapin)who even joined us briefly for a quick swim in the pool much to the amusement of the kids!
The only downside where the dogs were a bit noisy at night time but we had this at most places we stayed in Sri Lanka so wouldn't give it a thumbs down for that..its just part of life out here.

assanka is the most valuable treasure about this place, the most amazing guy he went way beyond the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable.

This was my 3rd stay here. Great location (it's very close to a dive center I use) and Asanka the multi purpose staff member was very helpful. We booked a suite which was quite spacious.
The bathroom didn't have some basic amenities such as soap and the TV was non functioning. The property didn't accept card or even a bank transfer so we had to go looking for an ATM and return with cash for the payment.

*The atmosphere and the cleanliness were great.
*The staff there were very friendly and hospitable and helpful.
*Loved the stay, the rooms, washrooms and the garden.
*There's a huge potential for this place to grow better.
*Stayed in Araliya- Suite.
*The air-conditioning was not cooling, there weren't any amenities (tea, coffee, kettle provided) but the hotel staff was very friendly enough to lend us a water kettle.
*Hot water didn't work at all.
*Sadly No WiFi to rooms and ground floor had bad reception for data connection

We stayed in one of the apartments which was quite spacious and good value at the prevailing rate. The pool was quite nice.
TV was not operational and meal options were very limited. However understandable minor shortcomings as no doubt operations have been affected by the pandemic.

Good atmosphere and a beautiful place
