A great stay for a family or a group of friends

The villa is very spacious and very comfortable, it's fully furnished (we only thought cushions on deckchairs would be useful). We loved the garden, it felt very private and quiet. My kids loved the pool in the garden. The location of the villa was perfect. Close to the beach and the main pool in the resort, with the access to restaurants (make sure you have a card or cash on you as they did not let us charge the food to the room) , pools, bars and entertainment. The resort is 3 km from Santa Maria village, taxis available all the time right outside the hotel (5 Euro to the village). We used a shuttle arranged by the host from the airport and called the same guy to take us back to the airport. Easy check in and check out. Very clear instructions. We really appreciated the mid stay housekeeping. I also have to mention the host of the villa- Nadine. She was very attentive, helpful, flexible and hospitable and answered always almost imidiately. A super easy and pleasent contact. Thank you Nadine! We would definitely love to come back!

It was kind of expected taking into account the number of people visiting the villa but some of the equipment/facilities were rather used and some places in the villa might do with a thorough (deep) cleaning.

great weather .. ok villa. safe and clean

the property is close to the beach and bed really comfy when I arrived the grass was very long I mentioned it to the contact in here and with in two hours it was being cut

the property has many things that are tired and need replacing unfortunately.. the sofa cushions slipped all over the place as the zips had broken on both sofas .. the shower pressure was poor . one shower was completely blocked with hair ( upstairs non on suite ) the mosquito nets on the doors were broken .. if you self cater the supermarkets are pretty poor but it is possible as there are taxis everywhere

Overall, we had a fantastic time, lovely villa & good value for money

Villa 53 is in a fantastic location being close to all the amenities that Melia Dunas has to offer. Loved the private garden with pool, sunbeds & sea view.

The onsite shop could offer more basic essentials especially if you are staying in a villa & self catering.

Poor

Quietness which is not unique to the property but to the entire Island.

I was kept waiting for over 6 hours to check in. I booked from 21/6/22 to 28/6/22. we arrived at 9.00 am on 22/6/22. The rooms were not available until 4 pm on 22/6/22. So I lost one day's payment. On 27/6/22 at 10 am I received three messages asking me to check out. Until I asked them to recheck my booking. No apology or complimentary service was issued. Dunas also over charged my credit card differently from my booking which is fraudulent.

It was ok.

Location is lovely - the beach is a short walk from the villa. The reception staff at the hotel main entrance was really helpful.

Wifi was advertised but there was none in the villa. This was a huge disappointment and a great inconvenience as I needed Wifi to get some work done. I had to go to the hotel main reception for Wifi which was really inconvenient. Wasn't happy with that at all. The host tried to accommodate by loaning me a dongle but the data allowance was limited and only lasted a few hours. This put me off from staying there again.

Superb

The villa was beautiful, pool cleaned daily, beds very comfy, nice touches like washing powder, soap, washing up liquid, condiments all there - felt like a luxury home from home.

Mossies! Shame dishwasher wasnt working.

the villa 9-9.5/10! the fact it’s on a 5 star resort you have the security. no stress! loved it!

cleanliness, no stress, the pool cleaners from Guinea-Bissau were lovely guys we are keeping touch on Facebook, the air con worked great, the sun lying by the pool, the pool cold but I jumped in many times as it’s good for you. I can tell it’s English owned and loved the Cornwall feel to it, the surfboard, the crockery, the kettle was great, I even did laundry there. the security of a 5 star resort but private villas. loved it! will be back!

mozzies but that can’t be helped and we read the brochure don’t worry. there’s nothing you can do apart from spray the rooms before you go for dinner. not a problem at all. I’ve only stayed in one villa that was immaculate though on kefalonia but this definitely comes second and we’ve stayed in 43 countries, luxury, first class flights, and this villa was perfect. we just fell in love with the island too!

The ants.. no matter what we did we could not get rid and they bite..

Fantastic holiday and great villla

Great villa very well equipped. Great position on the resort.

We did have cockroaches in villa even though it was very clean . I think it is something you have to get used to.
