Little piece of paradise

Casa do Pópulo is a truly special place to stay. Paula is an amazing host. The apartment is well equipped and the garden is magical.

Very good

Casa do Populo is really extraordinary: in essence, it's a park with an old house and some bungalows inside and owners do their best to make it look like a very liveable jungle :) The bungalow we lived in was very spacious and comfortable and had an adjoining gameroom/common space where one could play table tennis or grab a coffee. Additionally, once can use an infinity pool and a jacuzzi, both located in the garden. We were pleasantly surprised by the fact that the whole place was cleaned daily (towels replaced, too). Finally, the owners are super-friendly and helpful.

Floor panels (especially those close to the kitchen sink and washbasin) need replacing. It would also be nice to have some space to put a toothbrush and other bathroom items; we had to improvise here. What's more, the hot water faucet didn't work at all, and the cold water one was super-hard to turn off. Generally, the washbasin's look and feel might be in line with the design of the place but it's not very usable.

We’ll be back and plan to stay here again!

The property itself was breathtaking! Beautiful walking paths, so much greenery, plants and flowers. Paula was a wonderful host, made us feel at home, helped us with restaurant recommendations and gave us insight on where to explore on São Miguel. The house and property was even better than we expected!

We had a lovely chill, relaxing time there.

The silence the nature and the houses. The hot tub and pool were excellent treats. The common room also a great bonus. Finding our room cleaned every day was much much appreciated!

A lovely garden setting with a great hostess. I would go back

This was a spacious apartment in a lovely setting. The kitchenette was very useful. The pool and hot tub were great. Our hostess was very helpful with travel info and restaurant settings. I would go back in a minute. The setting is a little out of the way but very very quiet at night.

I missed air conditioning but this was not common in the azores.

Unique, friendly, scenic and relaxing!

Beautiful accomodation in fantastic surroundings! Paula was wonderful and took the time to give us lots of recommendations and advice. Such a lovely gem of a place, very unique and comfortable with everything you need.

Nothing. Everything was great. You should hire a car for the island as its the best way to get around and have access to all the sights.

We felt incredibly welcomed and taken care of at Casa do Populo by Paula and Joao. They were incredibly helpful and their recommendations for hikes, food, and coffee made our stay memorable. The property is beautiful and close enough to Ponta Delgado to pop over for a meal, but is its own peaceful oasis.

A beautiful place!

The location is really nice and very convenient. Many free parking places available nearby. Grocery shop in few minutes walking, as well as couple of good restaurants. The excellent garden of the Casa Do Populo is outstanding place for the rest.

Everything! It was stunningly beautiful, very attractively decorated, a true oasis. Paula and Joao were wonderful hosts and I am grateful they share their special space with guests.

Stay in Garden Eden

Situated in a large tropical garden with several amenities (outdoor-jacuzzi, pool, bodega, small walking trail) the place is just a gem. The appartment was clean, everything worked as it should. Paula and Joao are welcoming and super-friendly hosts always at your service. The new jacuzzi was great fun on a rainy day. At night you will only hear the birds and smell the eucalyptus.

No fault of the owners: with all the green garden around the appartment, you must expect the odd insekt intruding. Also, when it rains there might be a damp feeling all over, but this is just part of the fun.

Superb

We really liked the gardens and hot tub (which was in the garden). Paula was very friendly and helpful. For those looking for a unique property that is basically the opposite of a chain hotel, this is it. 2 minute walk to a small grocery store. We went to the Sunset Restaurant on a nearby beach (15 minute walk / 3 minute drive) - it had a nice view and provided a good selection of meals options. Rooms were cleaned daily and they did our laundry when requested as well.

The room has a wood-burning stove/fireplace that is lit for you each day to provide heat, but the result was an apartment that smells like a fireplace. You may want to request that they do not light it if you want to avoid the smell.

What a lovely place. This urban jungle is amazing. The garden is a little paradise. The host Paola is a very sweet person. She's very helpfull. Also the breakfast is great.

Too bad we couldn't use the pool already. It was not the season yet. It's understandable.

We stayed in a beautiful suite just right for me and my mom. The property has amazing outdoor spaces very well kept. It's a paradise within the São Miguel paradise. The owner was super welcoming giving us tips for a lot of places in the island and took the time for us. She was always available too if something was needed. Breakfast was good. We highly recommend it and hope to come back again 😊

Loooove this place. You will have the privacy of your own home sorrunded by nature but could share the swimming-pool, the hot tub or an amazing living area with friends or other guests. Thank you Tania to look after to us and keeping the property alway in pristine condition and the fireplace running. We will be back

The WIFI wasn't;t working in our room. I will also suggest a larger TV ..... very handy on rainy days !! But everything else was perfect

Great destination.

Great location for exploring the island. The apartment was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. Very friendly service with great advice on places to visit.

Some of the furniture was a little tired, especially the sofa which was very uncomfortable.

Very nice stay in green paradise

Nicely decorated and rather spacious house with equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, living, bedroom with comfortable bed, simple seat outside for breakfast and two relax chairs on a green, private plot just around the corner. We loved the beautiful garden surrounding us with all the different flowers and plants, sounds of the birds and smell of the big eucalyptus trees!! At night it was very quiet and felt safe. We could easily visit the whole island from this central location and you have a few (beach)restaurants on walking distance. Small supermarket around the corner for all the basics & fresh bread. Hosts Paula and Joao are very friendly and give lots of tips (thank you again!). They respect your privacy, communication is quick and easy. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The house with thick stone walls is quite humid, and you smell that too. Towels don't dry easily (but you get new ones every time you want) and it can be challenging to get your laundry to dry.

GREAT spot for home base while exploring the island.

great big room, GORGEOUS grounds, super friendly/helpful/down to earth vibe. The owners were on site and had great suggestions and anecdotes. Full kitchen was a big plus. Hot tub was a nice addition because the Azores are FREEZING.

reserve a car or bike before, as ubers and taxis are not really a thing. Plenty of parking, though. Dress warm/dry if you're on a scooter/motorbike.
