great location in old town- easy to walk everywhere - and we did. Host was great and responsive - only suggestion would be better instructions on how to use the lock/key - two bolts and which way to turn them and to pull the door towards you when doing so would make it easier to understand.

wish it had a little more light but quite at night and netflix and prime are a bonus

Very nice in a building with a lot of character and despite apartments near making a lot of noise in the night, the apartment was well insulated for sound. Very clean and nice apartment

the rooms smelled of cigarettes - I can still smell the cigarettes smell on our clothes and backpack even now that we’re back,

all the amenities we needed. washing machine was a great touch. bed was comfy and the hot water was great with awesome pressure.

the towel rail is incredibly hot. the small bathroom meant we burnt ourselves twice quite badly. also being on the 4th floor up a steep spiral staircase with no lift was a challenge. my legs got strong by the end of the week but I had no idea, and this should be better explained as elderly would have issues.

The owners were nice. The place clean and spacious. Good noise cancelling windows on the front (not the ones in the back), you almost don't hear the people in the bar down below but you do hear the staff and other residents laughing in the back alley.

They didn't tell us we would be on the 4th floor without a lift. They advertise all their appartments in one listing, so they own most of the building but they don't tell you which appartment on which floor you are getting. I repeat: there is No elevator. We would have never booked it if we had knew. We were travelling with a 4yo, my knee freshly out of reconstruction surgery and my mother in law who lives in Lyon was unable to come visit because it was too difficult to access. They advertise the appartment as bundled with a car parking deal available when in fact they only have 1 parking card to share with their several appartments.. so when we arrived with our car ...the only available parking space was already taken.. and we had to pay over $40 in car park before they finally gave us the car park card by day 2... because I insited a lot on it. The washing machine was broken. One of the armchairs was broken. The light over the sink was broken. The kitchen sink leaked. We booked the flat for 6 people and only had 4 chairs around the kitchen table... so we could never all sit together at the table.

The photos of the property are very flattering, the reality is a little different, there is almost no natural light, and quite a lot smaller than the photos suggest. That being said, it is still a pleasant place to stay

Well furnished flat (incl. laundry facilities, kitxhen, TV) in an ideal location. The host Jean has impeccable recommendations for sights and restaurants - write down every word he says!!!

If you have a car, this might be tough - precisely because it's in the dead center of Vieux Lyon which is very crowded. Return that car and walk!

Modernised apartment in a renaissance building. Well equiped and with a real coffee machine 👍1st floor, so not to far to carry cases. Very helpful and informative owners. Fabulous area in Vieux Lyon excellent restaurants and boulangeries close by. For us it was an ideal location with easy transport access to the whole of Lyon.

The apartment is in a great location right in the old town. Tons of restaurants and shops etc. The space is ample and well laid out. loved having a full kitchen to work with for breakfast. The bathroom is large with a washer so that was very convenient. Although there is no closet in the bedroom there was a space to hang cloths and some shelves as well. The host, Jean, was great. He met us at the property and gave us a lot of information about the area, history and things to visit. The apartment is quiet and faces the inner courtyard.

The apartment is on the 1st floor (2nd in the US and doesn’t get a ton of light but that was ok for us as we tend to sleep late. There is a restaurant in the front in the next door building that shares the courtyard so you do hear the staff from time to time. However, the restaurant opens late and is shut down by midnight and also is not open every night so this was not an issue at all.

The location is the best feature, on the edge of the Old Town, and reasonably close to a Municipal car park. The owners have a pass for the car park which they charge you €10 per day to use, so if you have a car parking is a big problem in the central Lyon area. It also has to be said that you get a flavour of what life was like 500 years ago here, time travel like this makes you appreciate the present.

The owners photos which accompany their description are expertly done, and I feel misrepresent the property to the extent that the reality is a disappointment. The owner has the other floors above this flat which was the lowest, being the first floor above the ground, so maybe the photos are of another flat. The shots of the rooms are taken with a lens that produces a feeling of space which just isn't there. These shots appear to have either been photoshopped or lit in such a manner as to convey that the appartment is light and airey, where the reverse is the truth. It is dark, airless and claustrophobic, which stems from the fact that the building is over 500 years old, and although is has been renovated inside very nicely, it is closely over-looked by neighbouring properties and is far from private when you have the curtains open. Inside space is very limited, so ok for overnight people with no baggage but if you have bags you have to leave them in the sitting area. The kitchen is quite poorly equipped for any kind of actual cooking, as opposed to making a sandwich, and the largest glass in the place was a small tumbler of about 10cl, so forget making a gin and tonic, or pouring a beer. Little in the way of kitchen consumables was also offered, no salt & pepper, no oil, etc and although a "dry breakfast" was offered, this was actually a packet of cup cakes. The owner is very money focussed.
