not many alternatives
Dirty (cockroaches), noisy (karaoke and dogs barking non stop in the house beside the guesthouse), sink stuck, mosquitoes in the room, no net, Very expensive for the quality and service provided.

Julian is an amazing host, very helpful and flexible. He helped me a lot with making the arrangements. The room was small but cozy, not far from the downtown, in a calm and safe area.

I liked that i tried a local business too bad the accommodations were bad.
Booking.com should not allow substandard accommodations on their website. The rooms were dirty, there was no ac as advertised, there was no water our last night and the building was unsafe due to all the water damage. There are structural cracks throughout building. Having a nice owner does not make up for inconveniences. All the problems i mentioned have been ongoing for at least 2 years look back through the reviews. Also i met another guest who was a friend of owner. The owner invites friends to stay at lower rates to get good reviews many of them are guyanese expats who live in other countries like the US. He also hosts his friends for weekend karaoke that ends at midnight and is loud in all rooms. If you have early flight you will not get proper sleep.

Julian's guesthouse represented a good value in Georgetown. The price was good. Jillian was very honest and friendly. The guest house was well located close to a main road but not noisy.
The room was very basic. Just a fan and a bed. The bed was not very comfortable. There was no hot water.

The location was central and the main city sites are in walking distance.
It was secure.
The room was extremely basic and the bed was essentially a foam “mattress” on some makeshift planks of wood. You could feel the boards every time you tried to sleep. The water pressure was also very poor so difficult to wash your hair.

Julian is a very helpful and 'human' guy. He really makes the place. The wifi was strong and the A/C was cold. I liked that just around the corner are a series of useful shops: transport, bakery, butchery with sliced meats, and a fruit shop. A supermarket is also not too far away. Georgetown has a bad reputation for safety so having things within quick walking distance is good.
Some water issues, which Julian quickly resolved. The floors in my room could have been cleaner and I let Julian know so I'm confident he'll take care of that.

This place is the worst place I have ever stayed, the room was flooded, I wake up and stepped into water, all the rooms on the ground floor was, the manager was no help at all, it rained all night the next day the place was flooded, very poor drainage, you have rain water mix with surage water, I checked out that same day, went to a better hotel, people I would strongly discourage any to not go there, it's a dump.
There's was nothing to like, you can hear people walking above you, the bed was terrible uncomfortable, and the room was not well maintained,

nothing it was horrid
it was dirty and disgusting the bathroom was the worst I have ever seen. it smelled beyond bad the toilet in one room did not flush you had to open the cistern and manually flush. the floors were slippery with slime it was awful

I only had a one-night stay on my way to the airport. The place served my purpose for the hours we spent there.
This guest house could be a great place if the plumbing and presentation were taken care of. It appeared that repairs or upgrades were in process and so there was a feeling that it was not complete.

In the cool lower level for the northerner I am, plenty of space and very clean. Julian and Tracy were very kind and hospitable. Julian told me where best to go in the city and how to find the MANATEES!!!

The owner, Julian, is very kind and helpful. The immediate neighborhood is not too bad and has some restaurants and shops. (Don’t venture far after dark)
The rooms on the bottom floor are quite dreary.

Great location. Close to Bourda market. Many types of restaurants in the immediate location. Close to transportation.

Julian was really nice + helpful. Backpacker rooms are basic but adequate.

The Guesthouse has a great central location, near, street markets, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping mall and banks.
It´s also very short walking distance from most of the sightseeings in the city.
The room was very basic but ok fora short term stay.
The staff helped me with all the information I needed and called a taxi for me to go to the airport.
The bedroom ceiling was leaking and the floor was often wet.
The shower didnt´get hot enough
On friday they have a karaoke at the restaurant upstairs and it was very noise

Don't stay here! The room was not clean, the security, who let us in had to flush the toilet when he showed us the bathroom, hair in the shower, cockroaches in the room, mold on the wall. On top of that an owner that shouts at his guests. We wanted to change our booking and he basically screamed at me that it is not his problem...

Julian Guesthouse was a great place to stay. The owner, Julian, was extrememly helpful. The room was basic, and for the price quite expensive. The internet was not the best, and was difficult to video call friends/family. The guesthouse is very close to everything and I enjoyed my stay there.

the place is centrally located between the public transport and the tourist attractions in the city. The owner was very accommodating and helpful.
There was no electricity for a couple of hours for the last two days I’ve stayed here although it is not the owner’s fault. The room is pleasant but not quite clean based on my standard. The internet connection was quite poor.

The hardwood lacquered floors in the hallways should be carpeted instead because it's noisy & can be heard when anyone is walking through the hallways & not a good experience when you're super tired & trying to get a good night's sleep from the eventful day..... the Walls needs to be sound proofed...& the doors @ the bottom needs to be sealed which will help with to reduce the noise..
Had some noisy Cubians in the room beside mine for the 5 days of my 7days visit.... karaoke singing day & nigh...& super loud TV... had a chat with the owner & was moved to a different room on the same floor with empty rooms both sides of me......
My holidays was from October 8th-27th & was thinking of extending my stay there by another week but I decided not to...& made other arrangements.
Great Location/external surroundings/ quiet externally... the price was affordable if u don't wanna spend your money on just accommodations 👍🏾
The owner Julian is very friendly & accommodating as much as he can🙏🏽🙏🏽..
The place needs some upgrades & ground rules needs to be clearly defined.
