Nice place, good location. Nice evening meals

Lovely welcome, very friendly. Just what I expect when I go home to Yorkshire. Room was lovely and the walk in shower for me was abonus, plus the Sky tv

Not doing breakfast wasn't good for me, as a diabetic I need food early with my insulin. But that's a problem I can plan for.

Exceptionally disappointed

Convenience of location.

I travelled with my daughter for a sporting competition. The room was very small and exceptionally dim. There were no plug sockets (apart from the sockets where the kettle and TV were plugged in and one 'hanging' underneath the table. As a woman, there wasn't enough lighting to put on make-up. Although there are plenty of mirrors, they aren't situated close to any decent lighting, and everywhere is exceptionally dim. I had three hours' sleep, being woken at 1.30am by revellers coming back from a night out. They were exceptionally noisy and the sound-proofing is so bad that it felt as if they were in the same room. I am not a light sleeper, but I then couldn't get back to sleep. The bathroom is a decent size but the shower itself is a small cubicle. It was so small you couldn't bend to touch your toes so anyone with mobility issues would struggle. The worst part of the stay was that we had to exit early morning down a set of fire escape stairs. The stairs are open to the elements and it had been raining heavily. Due to a leak from the guttering, the bottom of the stairs were flooded, and you had to wade through water (with luggage) to get to the car park. My white squad trainers were in a mess for the competition. I'm never normally bothered as long as a room is clean, but I'm afraid I wouldn't stay here again.

There was no breakfast at the hotel. totally unacceptable

Everything could have been better. Cleaning: the room was not cleaned at all, totally disgusting. Room condition: old and worn, very bad beds. The food: was just heated ready meals, there were not many fresh ingredients in it. So all in all, everything could be significantly better, I would never encourage others to spend the night there.

Si vous n’avez ni faim ni soif et que vous aimez l’extrême solitude cet hôtel est fait pour vous.

La chambre était correcte

Établissement fantôme. 2 nuits passées dans cet établissement et je n’ai vu personne, aucun contact ni de Check in ni de Check out, incroyable si ce n’est une personne au téléphone qui m’a indiqué où trouver les clés. évidemment aucun petit déjeuner sinon la chambre était correcte sauf que le chauffage était arrêté et qu’il faisait une froid glacial dans la chambre quand je suis arrivé tard dans la nuit.

Extremely uncomfortable beds - when we looked the actual divan below the mattress had collapsed. Very poor lighting in the room and my husband (6ft 4 rugby player) struggled to get in the shower cubicle as it was so small.

Basic.

Plenty of free parking available. Short ride to Sheffield Arena Comfy bed

Rooms very dated and in need of a spruce up. There was poo on the back of the toilet seat when we arrived, and the headboard was mucky. The fire alarm went off on the Sunday morning around 7.30am. The fire exit in the corridor had a sign up saying not to use!! However we accessed it anyway. At the bottom of the stairs the fire door was instructed by a notice board plinth. This opened into the pub reception area. From here it wasn’t clear how to exit the building which was a worry given the alarm going off. As such I unlocked the main pub front door which the caused the burglar alarm to go off. Guests were stood in the car park for around 15 minutes with no staff in sight and the alarms still sounding. A cleaner walked down the road after around 15 minutes, and let herself in to turn the burglar alarm off. The fire alarm was still going and no attempts were made to check guests were all out safe or call the fire brigade. There was no co-ordination or organisation and the cleaner said we should have used that fire exit as we’d set the burglar alarm off!! Another member of staff turned up in a car 5 minutes later, walked inside and tried to turn the alarm off. No attempts were made to try and let guests know it was safe to return inside. It was obvious that no staff members were onsite overnight and actually it was the burglar alarm rather than the fire alarm that had prompted staff to turn up. Very worrying!!

Consider booking an alternative.

There was an en suite bathroom and it was close to the work location.

There appeared to be no control over the other clientele in the rooms who were causing noise and various 'smells' emanating from the rooms. There was no facility to seek assistance throughout the night and in the morning. The bed was not comfortable. There was no breakfast option and no advice about where breakfast could be bought. Staff gave basic information, but were acting as bar staff rather than 'hotel' staff. (This is a training issue). Generally - my advice would be not to visit this hotel if you have to get up in the morning to work/have a tourist day/be in a good mood for friends and relatives. I booked this for a work colleague based on the reviews, but will not be using this place again.

Access to and from the bedrooms is totally inadequate

The evening meal was good and the views over the golf course are great

Once you go to your bedroom after 10pm the only way out is via a fire exit down some metal steps. It had rained heavily overnight and at the bottom of the steps at least 2 inches of water had gathered which meant we had to walk through and drag our luggage through the water. If was impossible not to get wet shoes. I can't imaging how less abled people would manage. It is really unsafe and not at all fit for purpose.

Friendly staff, ample car parking.

Loud disturbance of pub guest arguing and swearing with someone right below window by entrance to pub. No intervention by staff. Fire alarm went off but building not evacuated. Guests stayed put while staff member went to re-set it.

Very friendly atmosphere, nice staff and very clean and comfortable room . We ate in the pub, the food was very good. The pub was accommodating of young children, we travelled to Sheffield for a cheerleading competition nearby and we had 3 lively girls who wanted to practice whilst we dined! We would definitely recommend and return.

Nothing. Will be OK if on a night out in Rotherham or Sheffield or for after a concert at the arena for adults/couples, if you aren't overly concerned with quality of room.

The room was very very warm making it uncomfortable and impacted our ability to sleep. The music was incredibly loud and went on well past 11. I know I was booking a room attached to a pub but I read the reviews before booking to check for comments about noise and couldn't find any. I was travelling with a 5yr old. Neither of us could sleep until the music stopped as it was that loud in our room I could make out Every. Single. Word. of every song. Including Billie Piper's Because We Want To at 11.30pm. If I wasn't so annoyed I would have appreciated the playlist. The property should never have allocated a booking that was clear it included a small child into a room wholly unsuitable for sleeping until past midnight. The side access door also didn't click unless pulled hard so was worried another guest couldn't close it properly and we wouldn't be safe.

great location, very friendly and helpful staff with a great atmosphere. The room was great, spacious, sky tv in the room and the en suite was a good size and a good shower
