About this condo rental
Located in Holualoa, this charming condo for $411 per night is a great option for your next trip. My Hawaii Vacation Rental, "Kona Luana", is located 1/2 mile from downtown Kailua-Kona with the nearest sandy beach 2 blocks away. Kona Luana is a unique 3 story condominium. Unit 1 is on the first floor and is not a rental. Unit 2 and Unit 3 are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. both opposite each other, both of which have the identical floor plan. There is no elevator and there is 1 flight of exterior stairs which takes you to the 1st level and 1 flight of interior stairs which take you to the upper level, bedrooms, bathrooms. Living room: Includes Direct TV, Samsung Channels. A large 55", Samsung, High Definition flat screen. An office desk, Couch and chair. A gorgeous, unique stone flooring, The staircase and all upstairs are all tiled using Travertine.. A breath taking 180 degree view of Kahului Bay that is only feet away. The living room also has Air Condition just in case you need it. Kitchen: A Corian counter top, full range of cooking utensils including, pots, pans, glasses, plates and cups. This unit comes with it's own private washer and dryer, which are new and bought 10/2022. A completely remodeled kitchen witch includes custom cabinets, dishwasher and a refrigerator/ freezer. It also includes a microwave, convection oven, crock pot, blender, coffee maker, grinder and toaster. Master Bedroom: has an incredible ocean view and private lanai. The bedroom has a travertine floor, 2 large closets, 42" flat screen H.D. Television, DirecTV and Sansung channels, ie. HBO.. The décor is stylized as Ming and Qing dynasties’ and very comfortable for living. You can feel both classic royalty and the modern luxury. The queen size, low Japanese platform bed, is actually one Asian item which has invaded the Traditional western bedroom with white cotton sheets plus some colored pillows to highlight the darkened wood. This creates the spa-like ambiance that’s truly bliss. Master Bedroom: Includes tub, as well as a shower and Asian style wash basin and custom tile flooring. The master bedroom also has it's own private lanai that includes rattan furnishings. 2nd. Bedroom: This bedroom has two twin size beds and it's own air conditioning. Asian style décor including a teak dresser and night stand. 2nd. Bathroom: Completely remodeled, this bathroom is tiled in travertine with a mosaic tile floor. The shower also has 3/4' seamless glass doors with stainless steel fixtures. We LOVED staying at this property. We saw whale spouts, tails, pectoral fins and breaches from the lanai! Next time I will bring a telephoto lens. Fortunately Binoculars brought whales closer. We were mesmerized by the crashing waves, spotting Yellow Tang and other fish in the surf. We did close the glass patio doors, though, so we could sleep.
The shower was fantastic.
The washer and dryer were a wonderful luxury.
My brother and sister-in-law joined us here for some meals and whale-watching. They stayed in a nearby hotel.
The decor was tasteful, the bed we used and the furniture are comfortable.
The parking is tight. We are glad we had a small SUV.
The art gallery on ground level is delightful. Enjoyed meeting the artist.
A wonderful stay overall, in January of the year we celebrate our 50th Anniversary.

We loved this place. The ocean view was great. We spent a lot of time watching the waves crashing on the lava rocks. It was equipped with everything we needed for cooking and all the equipment needed for a day at the beach. The closest beach was a very easy walk. And the restaurants and tourist area was just a little farther.

We loved this condo and cannot say enough good things. The condo was stocked with regular household needs which cut down on expenses but also thoughtful things like beach chairs, coolers and snorkel gear. The bathrooms, washer dryer and flooring were all updated and which made the feel so luxurious! I saw past reviews about insects and was initially worried but as long as you kept things clean it was good. The only knock was parking which was tight but that’s typical Hawaii. The location was glorious. OMG! Quick walk to the beach, and then a close walk to downtown Kona. The condo was the nearest to the ocean we have ever stayed and so very peaceful with the constant breeze and soothing sound. The double balcony was amazing! We got to see spinner dolphins come so close and put on quite a show. We can't wait to stay there again!!

This property is close to a lot of the action, bars, restaurants, shopping. Also, what an awesome view! Good communication with owner. Just a tight fit for parking.

Great place to stay that's within walking distance of a beach where we seen a sea turtle. You can walk and find any kind of food or shops you can think of. The place had beach towels, and swimming gear that was a big help. Thanks again

We had a fabulous time in this beautifully decorated and equipped condo absolutely right on the water within walking distance of downtown Kona.
The owner was responsive. The check-in was easy and we thoroughly enjoyed it. One proviso is that the bedroom with two beds in it can be noisy with the traffic off of Alii Drive. It is, however, drowned out by the sound of the waves on the other side of the condo. !!!!!

The house was on the ocean and has a beautiful ocean view. However, the house has bug everywhere, particularly kitchen cabinets. The bug climbed in my phone and clothes. The owner needs to deep clean the house. Won’t recommend to others.

The location of this property is amazing - you couldn't get a better view of the ocean and the sunsets were unreal from either lanai. It was well-stocked with everything we needed, and I still have moments of zen thinking about sleeping with the door open to the master and hearing the waves. The second bedroom is on the smaller side but had it's own air conditioner and the beds were comfortable. The parking, as described, was tight if you have a bigger vehicle, but we backed in an it wasn't an issue. The location is the reason to book this property and you won't be disappointed. We walked to town a couple of times, and loved all of the restaurants and shops. Every place we ate had an amazing view of the ocean. We highly recommend Hapuna Beach, one of the harder to find sandy beaches, and taking a snorkeling boat trip and SUP. I would love to go back again. We love Maui, but the Big Island was such a treat.

Beautiful spot
We spent two wonderful weeks at this property and truly did not want to go home.. The condo had everything from a fully stocked kitchen, to A/C through out the unit but most importantly a view like no other. The property manager was super easy to get a hold if need be, and made sure that everything was perfect the moment we arrived. We will definitely be back!

Mark’s condo was as advertised. Spacious, well stocked with all beach necessities kitchen appliances dishes, BBQ grill etc. The views from the lanai are second to none. Amazing sunsets every evening, waves crashing below and spinner dolphins in the bay!

Best VRBO
We have stayed in a number of VRBO's on Hawaiian islands and this one is the best so far. It was clean, quiet, well-appointed, and in a great location. There are AC's and fans in each room and they actually work! And the view from the balconies is unparalleled. Parking is a bit snug but if you don't show up in an SUV you will be just fine. Truly a wonderful place to enjoy the Big Island.

Beautiful location. Parking spot is a bit tight it not a big deal. Upstairs ceiling fan wasn’t working but the room did have a standing fan and good ac so it stayed nice and cool. Sitting on the lanai and watching the waves was the best! Overall we were very pleased with our stay. 🌺🤙

This a a great property with all the amenities you need to stay in Kona! The closet was stocked with supplies for beach trips including noodles, boogie boards! The washer and dryer are extremely useful and the air conditioning was perfect when you didn’t want to feel the breeze outside. Love this location for a family of 4!

A Lanai with a view...
This place is beyond words. The lanai facing the ocean is the number one reason you should stay here. We spent all of our downtime on the lanai. Drinking Kona coffee and eating hawaiian cookies every morning was our favorite thing. The actual accommodation is really nice. There were beach towels and chairs which were super useful. Having laundry machines really helped a lot. My only minor thing that bothered me was the master bed was very firm. Mahalo!!

Sweet condo, sweet home
We are very happy with our staying here! Our communication with Mark was quick, efficient, and helpful. Laurel and Chris were very friendly and helpful. The condo is thoughtfully provided with everything you need for beach and snorkeling. It even has sunblock, insect repellent, bandages, and laundry detergent ... which I had brought with us :). We love to relax on the patio in the morning, feeling the ocean breeze, listening to ocean waves. The location is perfect and convenient to go to everywhere. We will definitely stay here again and recommend to our friends! It was a lucky finding on homeaway :)

The only bad thing about this place is LEAVING it!
My husband and I stay here every March, and it just gets better and better. The location is ideal -- about a mile from downtown Kailua-Kona and right on the water. The house is beautifully furnished and maintained. There's dedicated parking right at the bottom of the stairs. The home is well-equipped and spotlessly clean. We saw whales and dolphins nearly every day, right from the lanai, and enjoyed incredible sunsets every evening. This was our 4th year staying at Kona Luana and we can't wait to stay here again!

We spent 3 weeks in Kailua-Kona in Mark Stone’s condo on Alii Drive. The condo was right on the beach - every morning was coffee on 1 of 2 lanais with whale and dolphin shows every day. The condo was beautiful, perfectly furnished, with a well stocked kitchen with every dish, glass, bowl, utensil and small appliance you could ever need. The condo gets ‘5 Stars from us. We spent from Jan 29 to Feb 19 and toured the entire island- but the days we stayed home were wonderful in the condo!

Great Kona condo right at the ocean's edge
This condo worked great for the three of us. It was a short walk into town passing by a nice beach to relax and read. A little further the other direction was the beach park for snorkeling. The condo had all the amenities that we needed but the best feature were the two balconies. We watched the sunset nightly and fell asleep to the sound of the waves.
The second bedroom is a little tight but for 1 it worked. The parking is very tight and both parties need to be mindful of the parking space.

Couldn’t ask for a better ocean view!
The pictures don’t do this place justice! The unit was plenty big for our family of five and everything we needed for beach visits was available to use. The location was within walking distance of restaurants and shops and the “big box” stores are an easy drive. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had during the stay. I highly recommend this unit.
