Nice spot
Very good location and extremly nice staff. The breakfast was unbelieveble, full of different tastes and fresh - we never had so good breakfast in our three weeks stay all around japan. Vegetables and fruit including. The hot bath was also nice.
There could be little bit cleaner, especially the floors, but sleeping space was ok.

Staff were endearing and even made us reakfast before the allocated time as we had to leave early. Cute family run stay.
Dated communal toilets.

If you want an authentic Japanese ryokan then this is it
the onsen was great and clean, after a long day it was a big plus. breakfast was included and was very nice and filling.
the ryokan is quite old, but everything stills works fine though. the pillows are very hard and filled with beans. it’s traditional I know but I couldn’t stand it.

Exceptional
Stayed here for 8 nights as we were stuck in nagano and were very happy with where we chose. The staff were super friendly and helpful with anything we needed. The chef drove us to the train station at the end of our stay as we had an excessive amount of luggage. The bathing area was clean and so were the rooms.

Good
Cute family run Ryokan with friendly staff. Room was specious enough. Also good value.
Our room was above the entrance so we sometimes smelled cigarettes. Also our room was right across the toilets. The men's toilet door rarely closed which was uncomfortable, especially for my girlfriend, since we saw guys peeing right across our door. Could be simply solved by just closing the door, but nobody did this. Also, be aware it's a traditional shared bathroom. It's not a negative, just something to keep in mind.

Nice ryokan
It is a nice and comfy ryokan. The owners are really nice. I loved the bathroom. And I received very delicious breakfast. I had the feeling I am a guest at a Japanese family.❤️
