Just one window in the whole mini apartment. Bathroom drain was a mess. And they didn't fix it in four days

Superb

The accommodation is well located with a nice view of Faial. There is no breakfast service but there is a good bakery nearby. Very close is a good bar, where you can eat with a nice view.

not worth the money

The view was nice and if you are with the car there is enough parking spaces. the WI-FI was good - when it wasn’t working one time, they fixed it asap. in the close proximity is a natural swimming pool. There is an AC in the room.

For me the room is too expensive for what it offers. The beds aren’t very comfortable and location is a bit far from the city (where the port, restaurants, bars, tourist agencys are).

very average ( with negative connotation) place to stay

view from the bedroom washing machine location ( however, comfortable only if you have a car) good baby crib with good mattress

- broken toilet sit, even though this problem was communicated to the owner and the sit got “repaired”, but in one day the problem appeared again, cuz some things are beyond reparation, you just need to buy new one. but this is a general problem with this property, everything is old and the owners try to squeeze out everything out of the existing equipment with the minimal costs, at least it was our impression - no isolation in the building, you can listed everything what the neighbors doing - separate beds that are moved together, but slide apart at a tiny movement, no option of one bed for couple available - basically shampoo and shower gel are not available, instead, they gave us just a “sample” sachets of shampoo and gel, like those that you receive as a present going to perfume store ( please see picture attached - coffee machine available, but I steer of coffee capsules suitable for this machines we received as “welcome gift “ 2 sachets of the cheapest instant coffee - they claim that the cleaning is daily, in reality the towels change is daily and garbage, but several times some bins were forgotten to be emptied( there are 3: one in the kitchen, one in the room, one in bathroom). we had infant with us who crawls everywhere, so when we do that the second day the floor was not cleaned we asked the owner to ensure that the other days it would be done properly, as we have a baby and for us it is very important, however several times after that the floor was not whipped well at all. - there is no dishwasher! it’s a kitchen, not a kitchenette, however dishwasher is not available and the cleaning ladies do not wash dishes! I see it for the first time in my life that the cleaning lady would deliberately leave dishes and for the last 10 years or so I have not seen a rented apartment without dishwasher.

Excellent and welcoming place with very friendly staff

Very welcoming staff and they we able to accommodate our needs very well. Place was very clean and we had everything we needed. We are definitely staying at Vila Barca again next time in Pico!

Good to stay

The room was clean and large. Position it is outside the town, you need taxi if not renting a car

Room cleaning every 2 days, even towels were given for the second day, it is not good have the floor dirty from the dust taken outside with shoes.

Quiet, clean, great ocean view

Spacious room. Balcony with sea view. Staff were wonderful.

Extra firm mattress was too hard to sleep comfortably. WiFi was free but not secure network.

Vila Barca was the perfect place for a stay in Madalena!

Unparalleled location and wonderful hosts! It had everything we needed, including a view of Pico. Clean and well-appointed.

We got it as a last minute booking, so it wasn’t as economical as we’d like, but it was high season and we were fortunate to get it.

Brand new structure, large and equipped rooms, strategic location 15 minutes walk from the center and the port of Madalena. The reception ladies very nice and helpful. We couldn't find any flaws!

Lovely sized rooms with balcony overlooking the sea! Host was very friendly and helpful and managed to accommodate us for an extra night when our plans had to change last minute. very close to Cella bar.

No breakfast but there was a fridge and kettle available in the room. The place is a 10-15 min walk from the port so bear that in mind, but it was no problem for us as we had a scooter.

Perfect apartment

Fabulous apartment with lovely balcony overlooking the sea. Perfect for our family of 3. King size bed plus double sofa bed in the kichen/dining area. Well equipped kitchen with coffee pod machine, washing machine, clothes dryer, washing up liquid and tea towel. Hairdryer in bathroom. Apartment serviced alternate days which was a treat. Parking on site. Easy walk into town along the sea.

Location is excellent. Close to airport and with a view of the Pico and the island of Faial right in front.

Comfortable Stay with Amazing Views

Villa Barca is in a great location just outside of the main area of Madalena - very close to Cella Bar and amazing views to Sao Jorge and Faial. Easily Walkable from most anywhere in Madalena.

Nice staff, wonderful ocean view, perfect for a short holiday

This is a modern, nicely furnished tourist accommodation facility with a beautiful view of the ocean. Every room has a terrace and is super-clean and comfortable. We spent here just one night, so for us was perfect.

Very comfortable with excellent facilities. The couple who run it and their staff are lovely.. very friendly, helpful and generous. It’s in a good location opposite the swimming area and close enough to walk into town.
