No Go

The host was friendly and the location was interesting and relatively easy to find but only because we're great at navigation with Google maps and map reading in general.
Signage was non-existent; the host was unavailable when we arrived such that we had to guess which cabin was ours; breakfast was great in terms of food but all guests had to sit together - it would be far better if guests had their own separate table for privacy (especially if they're not chatty "morning people"); finding breakfast was challenging and again no clear signage. Lastly, we asked about the lighting in our cabin as the main light didn't work and we were told it's "normal". Well, lighting that is not connected to the mains safely is not at all normal for such a public service.

The host is kind and it's very close to Den Helder.
It's very noisy and not very clean

Our contractor showed up and refused to stay as the facility looks run down unlike the photographs.

Really enjoyed the horses and the friendliness of staff.
Out of control of location just weather made our stay less enjoyable.

Very interesting and unusual place to stay. The location is quite good, close to the ferry, in the middle of the tulip fields, horses and lamas nearby. Although 'the room' is quite small, it's conveniently arranged and the beds are comfortable. There are nice and clean shared facilities. The breakfast is included and it's very good. Kids loved this place.
We could not reach any WiFi in our place.

The owners were so nice, even booked a horse riding for us and made sure to have a lot of options for our Glutten free child!! The place is clean and well kept and very nice to be close to the horses and animals

A Little bit of lack of info when you arrive, but nothing serious....

Amazing crew! Amazing breakfast! Amazing view! The room is cold but the stay is worth the money, if you are looking for an affordable stay in Northern Netherlands. Thank you, Stephen, Tom and Giri, for the amazing experience! Will definitely be back again!

Location is pretty close to Texel Island. Our beds were very comfortable and a breakfast was really nice.
It wasn’t easy to find a host. We were a little bit surprised by a childish style of the wagon. It was definitely designed for children. Some of the equipment was broken. There was no hairdryer and a refrigerator was like a heater.

We loved that you are right next to the horses and the sunset was amazing. The surrounding tulip farms are incredible. We woke up and had our breakfast next to the Alpacas. We had a BBQ and sat outside the cabin.
It is a working farm so it definitely has some animal smells! Make sure to bring some bottled water for drinking and ask for an additional heater if it gets cold when the sun goes down.

Did not expect the place to be this clean, the room but also the showers and toilets are always perfectly clean. The staff is very welcoming and extremely friendly making you feel at home. Lovely breakfast over a good chat! Very nice that checkout is late so you can do something in the morning and afterwards still shower and pack your stuff! Absolutely recommending the place if you appreciate a basic cozy setup!

It’s unique; if you love nature, horses and animals in general then this is the place to stay for a few nights. Stefan is an amazing host, very kind and also funny. While I should note that this is really a site for people who love the outdoors and unique experiences. The fact they’re expanding into a camp makes it very attractive. The location is a short bike ride from the centre of Den Helder which holds a really unique marina and history. The horse ride to the beach is also a must.
The views with sunset are amazing, and one can also grill outside but I recommend to prepare yourself with your own gear. And take your own towels. The heaters inside are small but if you leave them on during the day the place stays warm at night (depending on the season).
By itself it is great but there is space for improvements, a working Wi-Fi in sleeping area would be really an advantage. The place can be little hard to orient and find around at first for someone who is new to the area and doesn’t speak Dutch. But Stefan speaks a few languages fluently as well as many locals too. Don’t expect it to be clean outside because there are horse stacked right next door, personally I didn’t mind that at all but just a heads up. Leave your high heels in the car.
