Location was wonderful, right on the beach
It was a rustic immersive experience with basic rooms but all the better for it
Miguel gave us a fabulous surf lesson
The dogs were adorable and Miguel was charming, chatty and really passionate about being self sustainable
Plenty of hot water in the outdoor shower
It was hard to get anything dry (not their fault!)
The road in needed a 4x4, but it was an adventure!

On ocean and totally in nature! Great WiFi. Very peaceful and if you love surfing, then no crowds
Went in rainy season so muddy

Off grid simple ticos style cabanas completly handmade by Miguel, the host. Perfect location for chilling , a beach day or surfing. Beach for yourself just by the property, great waves, great sunset. Located in a fishermen village El Cocal basic groceries in the village. Access with 4x4 only via a small path before Quepos or by foot via the ferry deck in Quepos (250 colones one way pp) and then 20 min walk in the village to Miguel’s house or by taxi (2000 colones one way). We left our car at the Gustavo parque (ferry parking) (3000 colones per day), Gustavo the parking owner is really nice! Remote area to immerse yourself in a tico life for a couple of days.
Access to the property is only with a good 4x4 and some driving experience, very tricky especially during the rainy season.

Place IS Amazing

The accommodation as a whole, as well as Miguel his wife and son were just exceptionally good. One immediately felt at home and was warmly welcomed! The accommodation itself was kept minimalist, but you had everything you needed. Who expects a luxury accommodation is here out of place, the accommodation shines with its natural charm and the general positive mood.
We totally enjoyed the time, relaxed a lot and the surf lessons were great too!
Thanks again, it was really a great time! 😍
Nothing.

The stay in Miguel's Surf Camp was great! It is different from all other places we have been - It is rustical, sustainably managed (they even filter their own water) and a great place to enjoy. You can take surfing classes and Miguel was a great teacher! He was really patient (It was our first lesson) and explained everything really thoroughly. We could already surf a bit on our own in the afternoon! And the best thing was, that there were no other people in the whole beach! Definitely recommended!
Don't stay here if you expect luxury rooms, the rooms are really simple, but you have everything you need.

This place is a real paradise, out of the world, and ideal to come back to the essential. Miguel and his family are super welcoming .
Also, Miguel’s surf lessons are amazing, it’s a real + to the experience.

We stayed a second time (unfortunately only another night) because we liked the place so much.
Miguel is a great friendly host, he has beautiful dogs and his camp and the location are simply a paradise.
If you don't fear basic accommodation, go there!!

Access to beach
Would have been an alright stay if owner didnt try to upsell the room we booked for 5 more dollars to "one with better views" when its already our room because its the last room. Also did not honor the slightly discounted price from booking, but it was only 10% difference so I didnt care.
The night was also quite hot, humid and buggy. This is not the place's fault just the environment.

Miguel was very helpful and welcoming! It is a beautiful beach side self sufficient camp! The common room offers hamacs and a place to hang around and the rooms are quite spacious.
The location is a little far from downtown Quepos but Miguel offers pick up across the ferry if needed! Walking along the beach to get to camp is a beautiful walk.

- Breakfast
- Jungle shower
- A sign at the crossroad would be helpful. Handmade google maps directions were not up to date

The area, the rest and the atmosphere are really nice. Miguel and his family are really sweet as well. Had a great sleep and loved the sounds and the fresh air at this location.
Kitchen is acceptable and dogs are really sweet.
If you look at costs -/ value it's a no go for now.
The 'floor' in the room isn't really walkable, and there's one toilet quite far outside of the sleeping area. When it's raining, you'll get wet. The shower is open air as well.
The road towards the location is doable with a proper car (4x4), but the path to the property is really, really narrow.

I loved the boho/ easy style of the bungalow we stayed in. I its all open air and you see a moon, hear the ocean and birds. Eco-friendly and super relaxed, access to the kitchen to make your food. I would stay longer next time.

Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and home cooked.
“Robinson Crusoe” feel to this accommodation. Tropical garden outside showers as we came off the beach.
Hired surf board for 24 hours for just $20 - great fun surfing.
Some electricity after sunset would be nice

Great place to just sit back relax and enjoy the nature all around you. Miguel is an amazing guy who can tell you about many things of Costa Rica! Give this a try if you'd like to disconnect from the world

Relaxed place, nice and helpful staff. Just next to the beach, but far away from the city.
No fridge, bed was hard. Otherwise nice place!

The location was beautiful, right in front of the beach. Miguel is a great host with a lot of humor, always trying to help and make everyone feel comfortable. We took surf lessons and he helped us a lot. We will be back!
In the room we were staying, the net has some holes and we had to fight a couple of mosquitoes.

Miguel's surf camp was incredible!!! The camp is located right in the middle of a surfers paradise with perfect waves for any skill level. Miguel was super friendly showing us around the property, giving us fruit, and sharing stoke and surf tips in the water with us! I can't wait to come back.
