\"Idle Hour\" Family Friendly Retreat
About this house rental
Comfortable SMOKE FREE family home, 4 bedroom, 2 bath with ground level but inside shower, 5 minute walk to the beach and great proximity to handicapped beach access, Second street runs parallel to Ocean front. Showers are available at the beach access and car and golf cart parking is also available if desired. MUST be at least 28 years old to rent. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, blender and coffee maker. The bar area seats 4 and the kitchen table seats 6. The den area is equipped with a flat screen TV. High speed internet is provided at no additional charge. Roku present for streaming. Upstairs bathroom has a newly updated stand up shower with hand held wand. Downstairs bathroom has a stand up shower with hand held wand. There are 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs bedrooms. One upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a flat screen TV. The other upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and 1 twin bed. A downstairs bedroom also has a queen bed, twin bed and a flat screen TV. The final bedroom has 2 twin beds. All beds have new mattresses. All TV's have Roku present for streaming. There is also a washer and dryer for your convenience. This home has been recently updated/renovated to include a new washer/dryer, refrigerator and dishwasher. The deck and entry stairs have been rebuilt. Deck chairs are provided. There is a gas grill located in the downstairs shower room for your grilling needs. Grill MUST be used on the ground level. Ocean Isle/Brunswick County has many amenities including tennis, 40+ golf courses and numerous options for runners, walkers and bikers.

We enjoyed our stay and everything was as advertised in the listing! Our kids enjoyed the beach toys available and having handicap beach access (carrying kids, a wagon etc) was an extra nice perk!

The house is amazing!!! We really enjoy sitting outside at night, and this place provided great areas to do that. I was a little worried about how long it would take us to walk to the beach, but when the listing says 5 minutes it is literally 5 minutes (I timed it ). Great location, short drive to shopping and entertainment. Myrtle beach attractions are not a far drive. If you want a great place to eat try Becks in Calabash.

Everything was great! They home was perfect for us. Beds and even the Couches were very comfortable. Communication with owner was A++++ house was ready and clean. Access to the beach was perfect. I highly recommend you stay here.

Second time at Idle House. Property is clean and comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Easy walk to beach access. Owner is very responsive and easy to work with. Will definitely be back again !!

Perfect Location
The property has anything you could need on vacation. The beach is just around the corner which is convenient. The bed are comfy and the rooms have extra twins. The kitchen has anything you need to make a home cooked meal. The tv has Netflix etc available with Riki. The only thing missing was a pool.

Great home away from home!
We had a great time in Ocean Isle Beach, and completely loved this home! It was so comfortable and welcoming. The beds and furniture were wonderful and relaxing. The house is decorated beautifully, and had everything we needed for our stay. The host does not provide towels or linens, so we ordered those from a local company. When ordering towels, only get bath and beach towels... kitchen towels are provided. Melinda, our host, was wonderful to work with. She was prompt in answering questions and addressing any issues that came up during our stay. We would definitely stay here again! It is close to the beach & just about anything else you want to get to on the island. I would recommend renting a golf cart. We did, and enjoyed having it for trips to the beach, store, etc. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Great stay
We had a great stay. The house was clean and well maintained. Short walk to the beach and about a mile from shops and restaurants. House had a ton of items for beach that we used. The owner was great to work with and quickly responded to all our questions.. would definitely love to come back sometime!

Perfect getaway location !
Great house for our long weekend. Lots of space and nice deck for evening wind down! House is well stocked and Convenient to public beach access. Owner very responsive . Would highly recommend !!

This property was perfect for our two families to enjoy a beach trip. The house was very clean and and was conveniently located to the handicap beach access (3 min walk). This made it very simple to pull wagons of toys and children to the beach. We look forward to another stay in the future!

Great for Family friendly stay
We had 4 adults and 3 kids under 6 stay here. It was great! The walk to the beach was short and the wagon and toys/ bucket was great. We had room to put inflatable kids pool too. The beds were comfy and everything worked just fine and was clean! The downstairs/ outside shower was helpful for trips after the beach. We would recommend it to others. We did bring our own portable high chair and kids toys but they had uno and dominos which the kids liked. The kitchen was a bit small but it all worked just fine! It exceeded expectations :-).

Great getaway!
