The inner yard of the hotel was quiet and had tables and chairs, one could sit on in the evening. The reception had a vending machine for emergency purchases (snacks and drinks). The hotel in general is rather worn down, but still comfortable and clean.

The staff was very unfriendly. One colleague in particular even rolled her eyes when I wanted to extend our stay. She refused to book us for two more nights, so I had to extend our stay on booking.com. You had to order breakfast the day before (but not too late, otherwise you were out of luck!). Requests not to clean up our room were ignored. The cleaning staff woke us up during our afternoon nap (we were on vacation mind you) because they were looking for a bucket they have forgotten in one of the rooms. One of the receptionists would constantly sit outside, apparently being miffed about sth and smoking. When asking for her colleague, she responded, "Do you think she is working here seven days a week?" The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar. At least they are not available. One of our rooms smelled strongly of cigarettes.

If you have another opportunity, I do not advise you to stop here. We checked into the room late at night, in self-service mode, it is convenient on the one hand and the hotel can save on a person during the night shift. We had room 116, on the second floor with a window directly onto the main street. The room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, (as in the whole hotel)it's like in a smoking room that has been used for many years. It was impossible to sleep with the window closed because of the smell of cigarette smoke, and with the window open it is unsafe, the street and the passer-by part are at once, there is no ventilation in the room, it is airtight. As a result, they called the concierge's number at night, no one answered, they barely waited until the morning to leave as soon as possible. During the checkout, I told the girl at the reception about the situation, to which I received an answer that I should have warned in advance when booking, oh my God, what to warn about? About the fact that I don't like to sleep in a room smoked to the depths? Or that I don't feel safe when people can climb into an open 2x2 window that has only two options, fully closed or fully open? I complained to you in the morning because I endured and spent a terrible night trying to be polite, to which, instead of minimal apologies, I received the answer "IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED, GO TO ANOTHER HOTEL " I will definitely go to another hotel or spend the night in the car, but I will never come back to you if you can't pay decent staff and clean the rooms then at least don't ask for truckers' numbers accordingly (with all due respect to truckers)

The location is perfect for us, and we have stayed at Value Stay Menen several times, access is good for visitors in this part of Belgium

Peeling wall paper, grubby carpets and generally down at heel - the hotel has had no investment in its fabric for a few years and its beginning to show

Super I came very late to check in and all check at that hotel it's without receptionists good idea.
