Everything you need for a fabulous St. John vacation without the high price tag! One of the best values on island. We do our best to ensure you love your time here as much as we did when Kachi Ra was our home, and we pride ourselves on open and honest communication with guests. Questions? Just ask! Air conditioned bedroom is the perfect place to get a good night's sleep at the end of your days exploring this beautiful island. Cozy, casual with rich mahogany surroundings in a quiet, safe, residential neighborhood full of mature growth trees, new furniture, flat screen tv, wireless internet, and dedicated Netflix account. Screen doors and windows along with living room and dining area ceiling fans invite cooling breezes. Kachi Ra (Kachee'-rah) is just 10 steps away from a great pool and gas grill on an expansive sun deck with loungers and views of Little St. James and Pillsbury Sound. The condo offers direct access to the Caneel Hill trail, a beautifully picturesque hiking trail that can take you to Cruz Bay or north shore beaches. (Note: this is definitely a hike and should not be seen as a reason to forego renting a car!) Cooler, beach towels, and beach chairs are provided. Guests sometimes leave behind other beach amenities (snorkel gear, umbrella/tent, toys, etc.) but we do not maintain or guarantee these items. Located only one mile from the ferry dock, Kachi Ra is a very short ride to Cruz Bay by car. Rental car is strongly recommended. This is a very quiet, serene place. We are on-island owners who work hard to ensure that our guests truly enjoy their time here. PLLEASE NOTE: There is an additional guest fee for parties larger than two of $15 per additional guest per night and a $120 cleaning fee. Rates include 12.5 percent Virgin Islands hotel tax. By submission of payment to book your reservation you agree to the stipulations in our contract, which will be shared with guests upon request. A rental car is strongly recommended. This property is not walkable to Cruz Bay, and taxis are not always available when you're ready to go! The bedroom is air conditioned, while the rest of the condo is cooled by Mother Nature's breezes which flow through the screened-in windows and doors. This condo is located in a residential complex, not a resort complex. St. John is a small island, and small island living has its "quirks." Sometimes the power goes out, and when the power goes out, so does the Wi-Fi, water, etc. Power outages are generally infrequent and brief, not something to stress over, and a great excuse to relax by the pool or head to the beach! Because this is out of my control, I cannot guarantee uninterrupted utility service.

We loved staying here! It was clean and comfortable. My daughter enjoyed reading their kids books and doing the puzzle. The bed was comfortable and they have plenty of pillows which we appreciate. Its a quiet little gem and we hope to return one day!

We would love to stay here in the future! It was easy to get taxis from Cruz Bay, and also from where the driveway meets centerline road. Our flight was delayed and we were unable to get our rental car before the last car ferry, but our greeter Joanna picked us up and gave us a thorough rundown. The next morning the safe malfunctioned and our wallets were locked in there. Andrea was very prompt in trouble shooting and came out to unlock it for us and reset it. We were very appreciative of her responsiveness. I wouldn’t recommend using the safe, but I wouldn’t take a star away because the place was clean, beautiful, and felt like a very safe area. The pool was amazing and the view incredible. Loved every minute!

Condo is nice, well equipped and clean. The only comment I would make is that the unit does not have air conditioning only the bedroom does.

The whole family loved the place. It was ten steps to the pool and my boys loved doing cannonballs into the deep end. We barely saw another person except for Raymond (Big E) and James who were both super helpful and gave us all kinds of insights, thanks, guys! The place was the right price and a good location.

The view is amazing! Mostly locals live in these condo buildings, and we were touched by how kind and respectful everyone was to us. My youngest daughter especially liked Steve, and misses her walking buddy now that we're back home. Andrea and Teresa were both helpful and great with communication, and if I ever had questions, they were answered promptly. We absolutely love St. John... it was our first time there and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Our stay was very short and this property was perfect. My wife and I stayed here back in 2015 (prior to Irma) and the renovations are very nice. We loved the new kitchen! This is a very budget-friendly location, but also very nice. The owner is super easy to work with and very responsive. They have lived on St. John for a number of years and are an outstanding resource! I love that this location is just a short drive outside of Cruz Bay. The pool is great in the evenings and the views are spectacular. Will stay here again for sure!

Great deal and location, just as advertised!
Our stay was very short and this property was perfect. My wife and I stayed here back in 2015 (prior to Irma) and the renovations are very nice. We loved the new kitchen! This is a very budget-friendly location, but also very nice. The owner is super easy to work with and very responsive. They have lived on St. John for a number of years and are an outstanding resource! I love that this location is just a short drive outside of Cruz Bay. Everything we needed in STJ
Kachi Ra was perfect for our 2nd trip to STJ. Fully stocked condo made our trip a breeze. Everything I needed to cook in the kitchen was there, even had some bonus spices in the cabinet. Lots of supplies for the beach (cooler, chais, snorkels, beach towels, etc) Unit overall checked all of our boxes!.
Pool was literally just steps away from the room, which was awesome to just unwind after a day at the beach. AC in bedroom was perfect, but it did get warm in the rest of the house in the late afternoon. It still was okay for March, but I couldn't imagine July or August in there. Property Manager Aubrey was hands down, amazing. Responded promptly to any and all issues that we had and was helpful in every respect.
Getting to the property was a bit interesting with it being one lane only and many many cars lining the road, but don't let this deter you! Kachi Ra is a great little spot with everything you could need and super close to Cruz Bay. Definitely give this place a try!

Spacious with all the amenities needed!
It's conveniently located about a mile +/- above Cruz Bay center just off of Centerline. Loved having our breakfast on the back patio overlooking Cruz Bay. The pool was a hop, skip and jump from the patio so it was like you had your own private pool. For those like me who can't do stairs well, there are multiple front stairs, but you can always use the back patio door that has a flat entry and worked out perfectly. Would definitely stay here again!

Girls week!

Kachi Ra is a little slice of paradise
My family had the most enjoyable time staying at Kachi Ra between the holidays. It was well stocked with everything you would need to live comfortably while on idyllic St. John. The unit is beautifully handcrafted and designed, and the location allows easy access to take a hike on the Caneel Hill trail where the tropics are on full display. Furthermore, my child loved the pool which has an amazing view. All in all, we dearly miss Kachi Ra and St. John and can't wait to be back. Thanks Andrea and Ted!

Good for a night
We needed a place for just one night and this for the bill will. Two couples plus an infant. It might have felt a little small if we were there for a lengthy stay. As the listing says, a rental Jeep is highly recommended since most taxis seemed unwilling to make the trip to Pastory in the evening.

Property had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable!
Loved the use of beach items here at Kachi Ra to burrow. Kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Little touches such as fresh flowers And a greeter were also very nice. Location great for near by North shore beaches during day and to the town in the evening for dinner.
St John is our favorite island. We have been three times and it never fails to bring us gorgeous waters and relaxed days in the sun and sand. Thank you Kachi Ra for being a peaceful home away from home.

Perfect Unit for our trip!
This unit has been beautifully remodeled since Irma and provides a perfect place to land each day after exploring this beautiful island.
Andrea is a great host and was so quick to respond to any questions. The unit is sparkling clean and equipped with everything you would need for your stay! The kitchen is very well appointed and anything you need to cook a meal is there. We especially appreciated the beach equipment and used the cooler, beach bags, beach chairs and sand toys every day as we explored one gorgeous beach after another.
Andrea’s helper, Aubrey met us at the rental car location upon arrival to the island and waited while we completed that transaction, she even helped out by keeping an eye on our bags and kept my 11 yr old company while we completed the paperwork. She then led us to the condo, this was much appreciated as it takes a bit to get oriented to the island and the location of everything. She spent some time orienting us to the unit and sharing tips and favorite dining spots, beaches and hiking trails.
We really enjoyed the nice pool right outside the back door of the unit and swam in it each day as a perfect way to cool off after a day of beaches and/or hiking. We had the pool to ourselves every day.
I highly recommend Kachia Ra for your St, John vacation!

Truly everything we needed and wanted in a villa!
Kachi Ra provided an ideal place for respite for our family of 3 only made more enjoyable by the easy, kind pick up and welcome from Aubrey. The location is ideal for exploring the island, and the villa is very comfortable for resting and enjoying the pool just steps from the door. Super clean and comfortable. The owners have anticipated everything you might need for convenience on a beach vacation - we especially appreciated the generosity of beach chairs, carry totes and lunch containers.
We are frequent BVI visitors and US National Park visitors but newbies to St. John. The beaches and hikes were all amazing in their beauty. With such a lovely and affordable place to stay that made our visit so enjoyable, we are sure to return!

Everything you need at a value price
We stayed in this condo from 5/4-5/18/19 and was very pleased. We had everything we needed and was only 1 mile from town. We had the pool to ourselves 95% of the time. This is the 2nd time staying at Kachi Ra, and if we return to St John, we will stay here again.

Beautiful condo with some spectacular views
This is a great one bedroom one bath condo right off the pool deck where we enjoyed a lot of time either swimming with the kids, grilling or enjoying the sunset.. this unit had everything you need for a great vacation... we would love to rent this unit again in the near future. The owners are lovely people as well

A Diamond in the Rough
My family stayed at Kachi Ra 3/30-4/5/19. What a lovely condo! What a beautiful view. This establishment far exceeded my expectations. The kitchen is superbly stocked. Be advised that you will need four wheel drive vehicle rental to get to this property. The grade on the driveway is about 25%. Foot traffic is not advisable as the roads have no shoulders. Also there are hiking trails that abut the property but they will require more maintenance to be usable .While the surrounding areas are still recovering from Irma, the beaches are just awesome!!!! I have never seen water that clear blue! If you are a beach going Family you will love this island!!!

Kachi Ra stay
We had the opportunity to stay in Kachi Ra mid-March this year and the beautiful condo had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun! The view from the deck is gorgeous and we enjoyed many home cooked meals out there enjoying Pillsbury Sound. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a reasonably priced, laid back neighborhood just outside Cruz Bay with an awesome pool and all the amenities you need for a fun St. John vacation! Beautiful well equipped villa with GORGEOUS views!
Andrea and Ted's KatchiRa villa was so perfect for the two of us! Having the pool six steps outside the livingroom was fabulous. Every single thing you need is there. Just stop at the market for food and bring your bathing suit! Gas grill, beach supplies, every kitchen appliance, spices, dishwasher and laundry soap all provided. We hiked to the top of Caneel Hill right from the condo parking lot! The air conditioning in the bedroom is so nice and the fans and breezes keep the villa comfortable. We loved our stay! Thank you!

Beautifully renovated home! We absolutely loved staying here!
The place was very clean and well stocked. Plenty of towels, coolers and chairs for the beach and all the kitchen utensils that we needed in order to eat in. Since it was our first time to stay here we were a little worried about how far it was going to be from town but it turns out it wasn't that far at all. In fact we could still see the bay! Very friendly and accommodating greeter as well. Thank you Aubrey!

Great stay!
WE so enjoyed the condo and all the amenities. We did not rent a car so we had more taxi fares but still enjoyed. The pool also was a nice addition. Beautiful views as well. So many items in the cabinets, pots/pans, dishes , glasses, coffee makers, micro, toaster oven and so much more. We did send a package ahead with snack items and Andrea had those waiting for us when we arrived. Thanks again. Love St John.

Great Location and well equipped!
This property was perfect for my husband and I and two children (ages 6 and 8). It was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. All the small details were thought of and appreciated (beach toys, beach chairs, coolers, water bottles, etc.) It is conveniently located one mile from Cruz Bay. Communication with Andrea prior to our arrival was excellent and very prompt. She provided us with many recommendations for food and activities to do. The property manager - Aubrey was great as well as she took time to recommend things to do, show us on the map, and was in contact throughout our stay. This property is a great value for the amenities it has! We look forward to returning in the future.

Met Our Needs
First of all this was an incredible value. This was our third stay in three weeks on various islands and it was nice to have an affordable condo to stay for a week. The house has a great location just a mile up the hill from town. It's not something you can walk so make sure you rent a car.
The complex itself is still feeling the effects of Irma and several of the owners are working to bring their units back to life. The visual look of the complex is not great.Some due to Irma but more just the overall look. But the views are spectacular from the pool and some of the units. You get to see a full sunset every night.
The pool was welcomed and though not fancy was a perfect refreshing temperature. It was a congregating area for those either working or living there. There's a shared BBQ and just be aware if you are cooking that at prime time you might need to either share the grill or wait a bit.
This condo is no doubt in the best shape at this time. Pretty much everything in good working order. Great to have WIFI that was dependable and a SMART television for watch Prime, Netflix or Hulu. Goof sized living room with comfortable furniture. Nicely appointed. Kitchen had pretty much everything we needed as we like to cook a meal or two a day. Large master bedroom with a floor model air conditioner. A bit loud but we found it a blessing as it took away any noise from the occasional car honking because of the hairpin turn down the road.
Andrea was very pleasant and gave great directions. Communicated well and asked if things were okay. Lost power briefly one day and she was in communication immediately.There is a small cooler, chairs, noodles and other beach items. It was great to grab and go.
Its a great location in relation to the pool. It is the closest condo so there were a number of times where we just pulled the shades for more privacy. But to just walk straight to the pool was a big bonus.
I would recommend this condo to anyone staying in St John. We had a great trip and I don't think we missed anything during our week there.
