De hut was schoon.

Heel vriendelijk personeel.

Idyllic, secluded, relaxing and simply beautiful
A lot of reviews focus on food costs which I thought were actually reasonable but the cost of the hotels transport services were ridiculous high (as were the trips) and left you feeling a bit like the hotel was on the make. But the staff were great - especially Lorenzo who was so good with my son who has LD

The site is stunning.
Not that it’s a bad thing. But, it’s far from the action of La Fortuna.

Hot springs are beautiful. Entire place is in the middle of a forest, lot of animals and birds around you. The guide, Neni/Nani, did a great job for the coffee tour. Team from hotel reception had a nice attitude.
The only place we hated was the restuarant, because of people. Rude employees at the restaurant reception, even the waiters did not enjoy to work there, they dont love customers in general.

I loved the grounds. They were incredibly beautiful. The staff was so nice and so helpful with the rest of our trip.

Excellent service. Beautiful warm springs with adjacent bar and landscaping. Beautiful, huge bathroom. Good restaurant. Lovely rural setting. Hiking on property.
A couple of minor things would make this place even better. The rooms are dark, even with all the lights on. There are no hooks anywhere for things like towels and robes.

The grounds of the property where beautiful, lush gardens and rainforest all around . The hot springs where cute but they were warm not hot, and there was a nice pool and River you can swim in . We loved our plunge pool in our first room and private hot tub on the deck in the second room. We first stayed in the two bedroom villa and then moved to the master bungalow. We loved all views of the rainforest we saw and all the pretty birds . We were very disappointed that we did not get to see an toucans of sloths on the property .
The staff was nice , Hector and Jasmine and Alex ( I think his name was ) where very helpful. Sharon the housekeeper decorated our room beautifully with flower petals for our anniversary. The rainforest views were magical.
We chose this hotel because we wanted a really high end luxurious yet tropical secluded rainforest experience. We got that but only partially because both rooms constantly had bugs in them . Now I know that in the rainforest bugs are to be expected, but at any given time we had 10-20 small insects in the room, flies , spiders , little black bugs , beetles , and some ungodly beedy eyed creature , there was also a giant winged black bug in the indoor shower that I don’t even know what it was . I’m terrified of bugs , so it really ruined some of the experience for me .
I just figured that at luxury resort they exterminate/spray around or in the rooms so that bugs don’t get into the room.
I couldn’t even step out of the room at night without Getting accosted by bugs . I was stung over 3 times by different insects. This is something to take under consideration when choosing this hotel , prepare to have to deal with a lot of insects .
The staff at the property where very nice and friendly, but felt very tip hungry . Everyone was kind , but Hector and Jazmin where the two that went out the way to try and help us . Everyone else was just very much “ doing the job “ kind of attitude, very nice but nothing extraordinary. We stayed later at The Royal Corin Hotel and the staff made us feel like kings and queens , very high end service . Service at Chachagua was nice but did not match Royal Corin.
There were lots of little issues that we had during our stay at Chachagua, no screens on windows or doors to keep out bugs , no garbage can in room only in bathroom, no table of chairs in room, private pool got dirty from beetles had to wait an hour and half to use it . Had to wait 2 hours for hot tub in second room to be installed by maintenance. Twice the toilet got clogged and we waited over 40 mins for maintenance to come . The room started to smell and we couldn’t even open a subdue because there was no screens and so many bugs .

We LOVED staying here. It was super secluded. The staff made us feel super special with a private tour of the property and free welcome drinks. The room itself was very luxurious including a nice balcony with hammock to relax in. Overall had a great experience here!

The garden was a piece of paradise and we were able to spot many birds. Both the thermal and the standard swimming pool were very nice. Our kids had a lot of fun jumping in the river with a toboggan. The room was nice and clean.
Breakfast was very good but in small quantities.

The property is well maintained and there are plenty of things to do. The room was clean and comfortable. very friendly staff. It was super cool to be able to swim in the river and relax in the hot spring pool right after.

The people! This is owned locally and the staff is local. I think they said the staff and facilities team are there to support 26 guest rooms. It’s remote, unique and amazingly relaxing. The internet enables some work. Tour of the property was wonderfully informative. Pool and springs were set up well and the food selection was diverse and well done for such a small audience. We would come back.
it’s remote, it’s a jungle making it a little rustic at times. We had a car so it was easy to get to activities although just relaxing on site is great.

The food was awesome!! Very good service and experience. We will definitely go again.
There are two pools: the hot one is very nice and relaxing but the cold pool needs to be upgraded because it looks old.

Just the most incredible experience. Gorgeous hotel with a hot springs in the hotel, wonderful staff, the most beautiful room ever with a great shower. We found it so relaxing, the restaurant was also absolutely amazing, we ate so well! We regretted not to stay longer as it was the most magical experience. Cannot recommend it enough!

EVERYTHING!!!! Seriously. The vibe of the property was amazing. We arrived during the rainy season, but the rain added to the experience. The flora and fauna of the resort were eye candy. I woke at 4:00 in the morning to the sound of the rain forest and went on the deck and lounged, enthralled by the beauty of the illuminated trees. The troop of howler monkeys came through an hour later. Pinch me! Is this real?
The included breakfasts were incredible, and we ate almost every meal on the resort for the 5 days/4 nights we were there because it was that good. We went to the restaurant at the hot springs during the World Cup, and we had our drinks delivered to us IN THE POOL as we watched futbol on the big screen.
The hiking trails around the resort allowed us to view toucans, parrots, humming birds, leaf cutter ants, lizards, and howler monkeys. We did not participate in the night hikes, but guests were excited by the frogs they saw.
That we had to come home! Well, and the fact that it was not an easy, quick drive from San Jose airport. The roads are very windy, and in the rain and fog, it is harrowing.

We booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon and we loved every minute! The rooms are amazing, amongst the jungle yet so quiet and private. Every member of staff was so friendly and could not do enough for us! The food was EXCEPTIONAL- usually we tend to eat out but the food at the restaurant beat every single restaurant in town that we tried. This hotel made our trip so special and I will never forget our experience.
nothing - it’s amazing!

My wife and I spent a week here on our honeymoon and loved it! The staff were professional and very accommodating and hlepful. The food at the two restaurants were phenomenal.
I thought the hot springs were perfect for me but my wife would have preferred them to be hotter than they were.
