The staff went above and beyond to ensure you had the best time possible. The facilities are immaculate and the location is so peaceful. Lots of wildfire nearby!

I liked how the attention to detail was considered. How we essentially had one person look after us from check in to meals and we built a relationship where we could ask questions about Japan,Chino and our own country.
Not much but would have liked to be able to explore the area. If you don’t have a car then you are staying on the property which I guess is not a bad thing if you going to relax and enjoy the Onsen.

A rare good balance between western comfort & the spiritual balm of traditional ryokans. Set on the edge of a ravine, the secluded location is almost a destination in itself. The meals though not Michelin starred, are of a high standard. A seasoned but generally well & meticulously maintained hotel.

The only disappointment was that we were already told before our trip that the private onsen was still under renovation and therefore unavailable during our stay. To the hotel's credit, they did give us some cash voucher as a compensation as a good gesture so on balance, this was well communicated and no surprises were caused. Hopefully the renovation is completed now.

It is located away from busy city in the mountains, but still close to a train station.it took max 30min to arrive to the hotel on their free shuttle bus. Very convenient.
The hotel is lovely and warm , nicely decorated.
My favourite was the outdoor hot spring bath with forest and river views. it was snowing outside which made it even a more special experience.
The staff are wonderful and very helpful, especially the lady who looked after us, Miss Shiori, who made an effort to speak with us and explain everything in English. Thank you!
Everything was wonderful, maybe just the fish dish for dinner wasn't fully to my liking, but maybe just because I am not used to all Japanese flavours yet. Everything else was very tasty, thanks again for your warm welcome!

The location, the luxurious lobby with so many beautiful books and bookshelves. Our large suite with the balcony was lovely. The private outdoor onsens overlooking the forest and river below was magical and having a private room for dinner and breakfast was fabulous. The staff were very attentive.
I was only sorry we didn't stay longer.

The staff service was excellent. Very polite.
The cleaning could have been better. The quality and taste of the food could be better.

The hotel looks like a fairy tale. It is stunning. And although a bit difficult to find, well worth it. The meals were superb, although genuine Japanese. No international food here. The rooms and views were amazing. And the onsen's were literally the icing on the cake.
The only two complaints I have are this . 1: The coffee is horrible and not cheap. If you are staying in an expensive place like this , you should be able to get a good cup of coffee. 2: I scheduled a 90 minute massage for 110,000yen (not cheap). For about 45 min of my massage a wedding was getting out and everyone was yelling and shouting. So not relaxing at all, eve the therapist was apologizing the entire time. When I went to the front desk, they simply said "sorry" I pushed and got a whole 10% off my massage. They knew i was displeased so gave me a box of apple cookies. I would have rather simply not had the massage. SO if you go and get a massage, make sure NOTHING is going on in the banquet rooms or you will not have a good massage.
