Situated in Taos Ski Valley, this lovely chalet for $616 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Our Bavarian Chalet is designed for complete high-alpine comfort, with plenty of gear storage for your ski vacation. Supremely functional, each unit includes three bedrooms, featuring two king beds and two twins which can also be bridged together to form another king bed, three bathrooms, and a powder room. Each unit incorporates locally sourced materials, such as dead-standing timbers and locally inspired themes. The feature wall in the living room, timber framing, and stainless steel firebox cladding all recall the valley's mining tradition. Beginning in the mudroom, galvanized steel panels and baseboards are a feature throughout. A refined rusticity permeates the whole. This chalet is perfect for a group or a large family to enjoy all of what Taos and the Taos Valley Ski area have to offer. The chalet also offers a gas fireplace and wireless internet and is within walking distance to ski lift #4. Guests are also a short walk from the Bavarian restaurant, one of the best in the Ski Valley! Please be advised that this home does not have air conditioning. **** A vehicle with four-wheel drive is mandatory to get to Bavarian Chalet as it is located at approximately 10,000 ft above sea level. ****Condo Parking Limited to 1 vehicle. Enjoyed a fun girls' ski weekend at the Bavarian Chalet #1. The property worked well for 5 of us, as we prepared our breakfast and dinner meals and had lunch on the mountain. The industrial chic decor suited the condo well (although the living room could be warmed up with an area rug). Loved being able to hop on Lift #4 right across from the property.

A nice, clean place to stay for skiers as it’s adjacent to lift # 4 and only a short walk. The water heaters are in the kitchen and one unit is so loud it’s difficult to converse or listen to TV in the main living room. Something is clearly wrong, but host said there’s nothing that could be done. It affected water pressure in showers so you don’t have that strong water flow that’s nice to enjoy after a strenuous day of skiing. TVs don’t mirror phone so couldn’t watch streaming services. Bring food from Valley as the local stores are extremely limited.

We had not stayed in the Taos Ski Valley before and this was a perfect home and location! We could walk to the Kachina Basin trails (Williams Lake, Wheeler Peak etc) - never getting in the car the whole time we were there! The home is beautiful and clean, and the kitchen was really well stocked. The microwave took up a bit too much space for our liking (we love to cook and so wanted more counter space!), but otherwise no complaints. We woke to snow on Friday and loved the views from the living area and staying cosy by the fireplace. Excellent stay! Will definitely go back.

We loved this property. The design, location and finishes were wonderful. It was fully stocked with essentials for an easy and enjoyable vacation. We will definitely be renting this condo again. It had a great layout that gave everyone privacy. The top master suite was a refuge. Great staff at Natural Retreats too!

Ideal location for a great ski vacation

While the condo itself provides a comfortable and well-appointed getaway, the real attraction of this property comes with the proximity to the Bavarian restaurant and Ski Lift 4. Clean, thoughtful, and well-decorated interior with nicely stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Perfect setup for families or group vacations.

The location is fantastic. The property is excellent. The elevation is 10,200 and the last two miles of road is dirt, so be prepared. We had a great time as a family hiking and mountain biking and relaxing. We had no issues checking to checkout, and we will be back again.

We stayed 4 nights in the Bavarian Chalet 1. Be prepared. This is high altitude. 10,350 feet. But the location is great. 100 yard walk to Lift 4 or Rubezahl trail to the base. Layout great for families. We slept 5 comfortably and could easily have done 6. The layout is almost townhome like on 3 levels. Everything worked great. No issues at all. If I could think of one thing it would be more cookware and utensils could be helpful (specifically nonstick pans and more wooden spoons). We will be back.

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was spacious and well appointed. Super convenient to lift 4, the Bavarian restaurant and the trailhead to snowshoe to the lake. The property had everything we needed. Having stayed at Taos Ski Valley in the past, this was so much nicer due to less people, quiet and shorter lift lines. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Taos!

Kim the manager was great. The property was nice and well maintained. Accommodations worked out well for our family of 6. Very convenient to the Williams Lake trail head, The Bavarian and Lift 4. We liked that the location was at the end of the road and a bit secluded, but plan to pick up supplies in Taos before driving up to the property. We would stay again. CJ

I cannot say enough about Kim!!! She was just awesome!!!! The house is very fairly priced for the amenities available. But, it is NOT ski in/out, at least 150-200 meters from nearest lift area a long slog for kids in ski boots. There were a few mechanical issues, hot water heater, direct tv were not operating correctly (but KIM came to the rescue!). The kitchen did not have a lot in the way of utensils, etc. Kind of important because we are way up the mountain and not close to restaurants etc. (except the Bavarian) so we were cooking and needed more serving spoons, better knives, serving bowls, variety of sizes of cups and glasses, etc. Still a very nice place.
