Interesting small cabin felt very rustic was clean was a great experience all in all.

The cabin itself is adorable, however...the owner failed to mention in the description that there are gaping holes all over the cabin from wood that has warped over time. Due to this, the cabin cannot seem to make it under 78-80* during the day. In the middle of the night around 2 or 3am, the cabin will reach a comfortable 70*. We spent over $600 for 2 nights and my son could not even sleep in the upstairs loft due to my fear of him overheating. I had my son sleep with me in the bedroom right under the fan. My husband took the recliner, positioned it right next to a vent in the living room and fashioned a sheet over the vent and over himself in the recliner creating a cooled off space for him to sleep. In addition to all of this, the couch is hard as a rock and looks like it was purchased for $10 from the local thrift shop. The recliner was old, but comfortable enough. The dining room table was not stable and shook/wobbled constantly when in use. Bottom line: I love staying in rustic cabins in beautiful towns like Fredericksburg. I've stayed in my share of these type places via VRBO and others - i've really loved them all, except this place. We have spent the entire summer taking care of my dad post surgery and wanted a relaxing weekend. We couldn't even all hang out together in the living room because no one could get comfortable in the HOT, terribly furnished room. ALSO, if you drive a car, DO NOT park in the drive way. My husband's car is all scraped due to slope.

very peaceful quiet , had problem contacting someone, but once we did it was good.

The cabin was perfect. We were looking for a quiet time with peaceful surroundings. When not checking out the great town of Fredericksburg, we enjoyed sitting on the porch with the funny momma cardinal flitting back and forth protecting her nest. The view of the cattle grazing in the pasture across the street was so relaxing. Great cabin. I highly recommend it.

We had a great stay. Very comfortable and cozy cabin they got. Not far from the main thoroughfare or the attractions in town, but it also felt very private, even like being out in the country. We were discussing all weekend whether it was renovated or built to look old fashioned. Either way, we would stay there again.
The only thing I didn't love was that I had practically no communication with the managers. I hope my messages got through, but haven't gotten any responses. The only communication I got seemed like an automatic message or standardized email. However, all the information I did receive was 100% correct and we had no issues getting in or any trouble with the property.
If you're looking for a cozy and (practically) secluded cabin with absolutely zero interference from the owners, I highly recommend Das Eck Haus.

My husband and I loved our new years and anniversary stay here. We had a fire in the fireplace one night and enjoyed a relaxing bath the next! We also enjoyed being so close to Main Street and the shops…. Just a wonderful weekend away experience!

The location is close enough to downtown to enjoy the shops, good restaurants, and music, but far enough to give the feeling of being in the countryside. We had two Cardinals visit us every day and our last morning there we had three deers run past the bedroom window.

The cabin was great with plenty of room and lots of ambiance, however, some things really need to be changed. The dining table wobbled terribly and most drinks would be everywhere. The kitchen has an old refrigerator (Kelvinator) ,that fits the time period, but runs much too loud (compressor). The fan in the master bedroom is really noisy and could not be used making it stuffy in there. The beds were not comfortable at all. The mattresses, although soft, were not comfortable and if you have any back problems, stay away. Finally, the furniture in the living room (couch and chair), fit the time period, however, was completely junk and you couldn't sit very long. as there was no padding in them at all. My suggestion is that a Bed and Breakfast need ambiance, but most of all, IT MUST BE COMFORTABLE!! This cabin would have been great, but the lack of physical comfort makes this my first negative review of a bed and breakfast. Address these issues to move from a three to five star review.

Cutest little cabin! Great location for those wanting to explore downtown Fredericksburg. We cannot get over the aesthetic of the cabin itself. My partner felt that it was the perfect spot for a proposal! We will definitely be returning next year.

Loved it. It has such an unique setting.

Charming setting. Coffee every morning on the front porch with the quiet, serene view was our most favorite thing about the place. The bedroom bathroom on the main floor really needs a sink of it’s own. Sharing the hallway sink bathroom was an inconvenience. The curtains were too thin/transparent for privacy at night and early morning light… this is an easy fix with mini-blinds or light blocking new curtains. That said, we had a wonderful time in the little log cabin. The location was close to all attractions, restaurants and Main Street. The peaceful, back-in-time, atmosphere was unrivaled.

We enjoyed it so much that we had to come back. This is such a unique place to stay. The location is close to Main Street but on a remote street providing privacy. It is rustic but has all of the amenities. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and had a roaring fire. Will definitely be back!

This cabin is a perfect private place to stay! U wake up and set on the porch to feel like u r setting on a farm range far away! It really is amazing that just a few streets away is so busy! Then the jacuzzi tub is over the top! Will return!

We thoroughly enjoyed this property! Truth be told, this place is a delightful gem! The tub is absolutely exquisite- pictures can't do it justice. The front (streetside) of the cabin overlooks a lovely pasture toward the end of a residential road, lovely sunrises. There are neighboring houses directly in view of the cabin -next to and behind- so it isn't quite "secluded". There are so many beautiful details in the cabin. You can feel the heart that went in to it. Both bathrooms are downstairs, the bathroom with a tub only has a tub and toilet, no sink.
Please note: the upstairs loft needs to have the furniture moved into a better position to help facilitate airflow as well as needing to have the fan in the living room functional (looks like it just needs a long chain to be able to control it but we could not reach the existing chain) These two changes would make the upstairs MUCH more comfortable. The ac works quite well in the cabin but that cold air is impeded from reaching the loft due to be bed blocking the floor vent and the fan in the living room not working.
All in all we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay!

We met to wait out a baby, that still hasn’t gotten here, but we used the trip to safely meet another son and dil. We pre-made our Thanksgiving meal and heated it up. We spent the next day at the Nimitz War Museum, shopping and eating German food downtown. The house was extremely cozy and I loved it all. We are RV campers so I can pretty much take anything and this was uptown! We used to run a vacation rental in Galveston and I prided myself on providing everything. You could see the same thought is used here. I would book it again in a heartbeat. Loved the secluded location perfect all the way around.
