The breakfast was good.
The room was expensive and was very, very small, located above the paid entrance to the gardens on one side, and the other side was overlooking a small courtyard that acted like an echo chamber, so very noisy in the morning and impossible to sleep in.

No frills. Unable to see the view w/o being on the balcony.

Ravello its self is beautiful and the estate the villa sits on is lovely. The views are some of the best you could find in Italy.
The pool is nice and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
Certain staff members were very nice.
Some of the staff were not great or attentive. The manager/owner was pretty rude when we were checking out as there was a problem with their bank. He either doesn't speak any English or pretended not to. But not a good attitude, it was almost like it was our pleasure to be there and he isn't bothered if you come back or not.
Hotel charges you for extras all over the place. the hotel is a 10 minute walk up a long set of steps, they charge you 5 euros per bag to come and shuttle them to the hotel. They wont take any passengers in the shuttle either however old you are. We had 2 large bags and 2 hand luggage, so 20 euros. They charge you 10 euros to borrow an adapter. 15 euros every time you have room service so 30 euros for a cup of tea.
The pool shuts at 6pm.
Bad showers in the room.

ac was not super functional

holding a wedding reception ruins the experience of other guests, the site isn’t big enough and it seems only a handful of wedding guests stay in the hotel. Going to sleep to usher and 50 cent isn’t what you expect from such an expensive 5 star hotel.

The location is fantastic, the gardens and the views are beautiful. The breakfast is top, fantastic terrace, very nice service
Villa Cimbrone has this fantastic location, but they have to make up their mind: do they want to be a 5* hotel (but then the rooms, bathrooms etc. need urgent refurbishment), or is it a wedding location? Both is difficult to reconcile, and it can then be noisy in your room by the party, music and guests. Overall, the hotel striked us as being under-managed.

Some nice views but as does most of the hotels in the area
everything from the front desk, restaurant service, value for money, zero element of luxury, lack of accountability, no cohesion, lack of privacy and very very noisy. One person serving 5-6 tables at breakfast, running back and forth to the kitchen doing everything (not their fault). The public wonder around the gardens all day constantly taking pictures and staring at guests by the pool (see pic). Always being asked “Are you a guest?” becomes tiresome. Despite my numerous polite requests to speak to management and promises “he will speak to you soon”, he never appeared. The most disappointing holiday we have had as a family. The worst thing about this is the cost of everything, 24 euros for 4 small tomatoes chopped and a tiny ball of mozzarella (see pic) and it was bland. Everything about this hotel is overpriced. Wedding guests are prioritised and dance music was on till 12.30am for 2/3 nights we were there and it’s very loud. There is so much wrong with this hotel. The rooms are tried and dirty. Dont mistake “rustic” / “antique” with dirty and dated - of which the rooms are.

The villa is amazingly maintained, every detail is thought after. Francesco greeted us with the warmest welcome, the villa, view and the restaurant were exquisite!
nothing!
