Amazing food, staff and location. Great hotel!
Noise around the room.

Right on a beautiful beach; food was much better than expected (considering past reviews). Staff was helpful and kind; facilities are a bit outdated but i think they are apropriare considering the cost; it felt like a great place to just relax and not worrying about anything. I kind of agree with the poor quaity of alcohol but hey, if you can have as much as you want and you’re not paying a ridiculous price, I guess you should expect this; even then, we had plenty of cocktails and enjoyed them very much
Sometimes the main buffet was overcrowded and people didn’t behave properly, which is surprising considering that there was never a shortage of food. but i guess that says more about the guest than the hotel :)

Localización.
No internet in the room.

Location was ok.
Travelled as a group, 2 rooms had cockroaches. Rooms pretty worn down. Food only tolerable. overall very disappointing.

A lovely place to stay, and was perfect for a single traveler. A good room overlooking the pool but always quiet. Restaurants were excellent and the food impressive. Very helpful staff and cheerful service. Lots of different places to go whether you like relaxing, being on a beach drinking in the shade, swimming, gym - it was all there. Very generous cocktails!

The food was varied and abundant, with a lot of fresh options. The pool area looked good and the gardens were very well kept. Staff was accommodating and allowed us to check out 2 hours late for free.
The lack of customer service and the quality of alcoholic drinks are the worst points. We should have known from the beginning, when we asked them to arrange a taxi to pick us up from the airport and they told us to email someone else at the hotel???! Couldn't they email them themselves and let us know once the taxi was booked?! Isn't that literally THEIR JOB?
Other issues:
-No WiFi in the rooms
-Not 4-star standard: chipped toilet seat, badly scratched (black scratches) toilet bowl and bath tub, stained duvet cover, initially no tea, coffee or sugar in the room, just a kettle (we got them once we asked)
-No powerful extractor fan in the bathroom
-No mattress protector and the sheet was so small we ended up on the bare mattress overnight (it was too small so not tucked in, just left hanging on the mattress). This was rectified the next day by giving us extra sheets, but the lack of mattress protector is a no-no.
- Uncomfortable mattress with springs sticking out
-Horrible cocktails, simply undrinkable: pure, cheap alcohol, too strong and flavourless. We resorted to going out for drinks, spending even more money. In the bars on the promenade we met loads of other Belorizonte guests also escaping their terrible "free" drinks!
-Most staff lacks customer service, knowledge and manners.
-No information given at check in or in the room, there was (what we thought might have been) an info QR code in the room but no WiFi to access it... Nobody told us about vouchers required to book the 3 non-buffet restaurants. Then nobody told us one of the restaurants was closed on Friday and Saturday (in a holiday resort??!). Everybody seemed absolutely clueless about everything.
-Mediocre entertainment.
All in all, we would not come back here. A lot of improvements are needed to bring it up to 4-star standards.

Room was nice and the staff made a big effort for our anniversary with prosecco etc.
The food really wasn’t great. We ended up eating out even though we paid for all inclusive.

* Very pleasant and understanding staff
* Great meals at the restaurants (minus 2hours wait & the smoke from the grill)
* Great effort for Christma dinner
* Spot on location close to the center and beach
* Overall, I spent there a very nice end of my holiday drinking very average cocktails from the single-use plastic cups and every day running around the place looking for free sunbeds. I guess the Xmas dinners, staff and the time of the year made up for it :)
* Bungalow jungle with tiny corridors so people can get around
* Way overcrowded
* Not enough sunbeds, ppl booking the sunbeds overnight and all day long - this just adds up to the problem, staff if you manage to find someone won't intervene. Pretty much all sunbeds around pools & on the beach are gone by 10 am
* Not enough staff
* 2 bars pretty much busy all day long, glasses are notoriously gone
* Cocktails/ mixers are mostly bad, the quantities of ingredients random plus made with the speed not quality in mind
* The main hotel is dated and with tasteless new decor
* The food at the buffet is ok but often without any spices that cause a lot of food waste

easy excess to beach. all inclusive, food wasn’t that bad .
Nice staff, surprised us with sparking wine and Fruits. Attentive to the info made,ie “honeymoon”

We liked location - it's close to the town and on the beach. Very good and tasty food in restaurant. Rooms are clean. Generally it's good value for money.
Staff is not really pleasant. They are not rude of course, but you don't feel hospitality. Not enough sunbeds on the beach and they are old and not comfortable. Crazy system with towels you get them on reception, not on the beach or near pool. In our case we had to walk through whole hotel to get them. Villas are small and without any sound isolation.

The location of the hotel is really good with proximity to Santa Maria Village where you'll find shops and restaurants.
The food in the buffet is of great variety and taste. My family and I were very happy with the food served.
Staff was awesome. Very helpful and always cheerful.
Wifi was not reliable. It didn't work in our room but it was fine in common areas.
Unfortunately our room was below another one and we could hear every step from our neighbors (with or without shoes) all the time. If you can chose, book a room without neighbors above you. The majority of the room buildings don't have 2 floors anyways so you should be fine.

The hotel is awesome, I've stayed there many times before. The food is okay, the place is great. The beach is just a minute walk from the hotel and can't put into words how much I love it.
I really did not like the way the reception handled our check-in and how they treated us. I was at another hotel earlier in the week and had my sister with me since she decided to come with us at the last minute, we asked if she could check in with us and it was no problem, we paid the extra fee for her nights and it was all good. When we came to Oasis Belorizonte they acted like it was the end of the world, as i if we wanted to cheat or something, it was so wierd. Just add one person to the room and that's it. But no they didn't make us feel welcome at all,as if they wanted us out because they could not understad why we would want to add a person, add one more night and what not. I'ts not that complicated, just check us in and check us out.

Food was good and wide ranged. Lot of choices. Staff was friendly and helpful! Their coffee is so good. My phone was found back after forgetting it somewhere in the hotel. I was happy to find out that their people are honest. It is also safe place. Santa Maria downtown is on walking distance. Weather in March was great. I like the no stress, chill mentality.
This is for the colored people so you can be prepared mentally. We were the exception on the white tourism that Cape verde/Sal draws. We've been stared at and whispered about a lot. Even looked down on. I almost forgot that I was in Africa. Since they strengthen eachother in their narrow ways, we were always in disadvantage. We never insulted anyone back and just left the negativity to itsself. You can chill in Santa Maria downtown where the vibe is much more positive. Some white people tend to feel superior wherever they go, yes even when on another continent. They still feel like everyone should meet up to their standards. It is impossible for them to adjust to another culture/country. If you are or act different from what they know they feel like they have the right to be disrespectful towards you. These kind of people should stay home since they are so happy and proud about it. Don't visit other countries if you're only going to look down on everyone. Stay in your white sun. Maybe I just met the wrong people.
