Hello! I have a beautiful turn-of-the-century Victorian with a gorgeous huge walk-through garden, back patio and balcony. The second floor would be all yours, and is quite large for a two bedroom. The living room and dining room are separate, and there are even pocket-doors to close them off, in case you and your group are up to different things at the same time. It has a large eat-in kitchen and off-street parking too. This place has tons of charm and character. It has great dark-stained wood trim throughout, with crown molding and other detail you just don't see anymore in houses built less than a hundred years ago. It has a huge old-school walk-in pantry full of classic built-ins, including a legitimate "ice-box" from before there was refrigeration! And yes, "character" is also code for "it has a few quirks" - if you're from, or have travelled in New England before, you know what this means, and it's better than most. If you'd like to know more about quirks, just ask! Neighborhood features: -- Two to three blocks away • Narragansett Bay • Swimming pier • Beautiful park w/ magnificent sunsets • Small beach with a little sand & rocks to climb around on - good for a quick easy dip, no lifeguard, flat water -- 8-10 blocks • Beautiful neighborhood w/ dozens of historic colonial-era homes • Another pier and big water-side park with paths & nice walking bridge to Goat Island • Newport Shipyard, home of Belle's Cafe & some magnificent ship viewing • Beginning of Downtown Newport, harbor walk & Perrotti Park (ferry & water taxi terminal) • Newport Gateway Center, hub for trolley network & terminal for out-of-town busses • About an eight minute walk for most people (10-12 if you are taking in sights, have small kids, or are walking slowly for any reason) Notes: • EV owners: I have a 50-amp charger on-site w/ a J-connector & can lend a Tesla adapter • Sailing: I own a 22' trimaran; I love to take guests sailing when it works out, but it's not guaranteed. I do not charge for this, see below for more details. Special amenities (free; renter assumes all responsibility): • Bicycles: I have several cruiser bicycles available for guest use • Kayak: I have a two-person sit-on-top kayak w/ a dolly that you can walk over to the bay and go for a paddle/explore Newport harbor Sailing: I am happy to take renters sailing, with a couple of caveats: This is not a part of the rental. My boat is very fast, so conduct and physical ability are a factor in safety. I have taken many guests sailing and it has always worked out well, but I am not a licensed captain. Please ask in advance for additional details if this interests you. Discounts: In certain cases, I can offer discounts. This does not apply to typical summer vacation rentals. The special cases are 5-6 day stays that include Fri & Sat night, and off-season extended stays (May-June, or Sep-Oct). The pricing model here does not fit my personal pricing model.
