breakfast was pretty good
room was terrible. Stank of disinfectant. needed a total facelift. And was really noisy. I had asked for a quiet room but was put at the front next to the main road with only single skin windows, so traffic noise all night. Also music from the bar downstairs as only my room door as separation, so slept really badly

It was all satisfactory. Staff really helpful, bed comfy. Clean room, good shower.
Was a bit noisy when you had the windows open from traffic but that quietened down as the traffic eased.

The main building is pretty and the receptionist was very pleasant. It was clean
My room was in the modern annex and though purpose built there were issues. 1) it was very small 2) no soundproofing lots of noise from adjacent rooms and above talking, toilet noises, doors slamming. TV on late woke me up in the night and people getting up at 6:30am 3) ground floor casement window with poor security not safe to leave open at night (no half-light) so nights were very hot and airless 3) Basin in en-suite was tiny - what you use when there’s no space but there was space so it was inexplicable to me I couldn’t even get the little kettle under the tap!

Great attention to detail in the room layout. Hairdryer by a mirror! Compact, but we were only there 1 night.
Breakfast was delicious and although we did not eat in the restaurant the food looked amazing.
Parking is VERY difficult. The building and the surrounding wall are apparently listed so the gap is extremely narrow between the two into the car park. There is additional parking adjacent which might be worth asking about if you have a large vehicle.

great unique little run hotel, very comfortable, clean and welcoming and great breakfast

The staff were lovely and friendly, the hotel is spotless and the breakfast amazing.
Not the hotels fault but it is on a busy road....if you used to this it won't be an issue but didn't get much sleep due to constant traffic. We were at the front of the hotel, maybe quieter in other rooms

stayed before nice clean bedrooms
not informed before visit that as a resident I would not use the bar facilities after 5 PM on Saturday, I appreciate private functions happen yet this should have been communicated at the time of booking

the building is nice
The single paned glass made the rooms very cold, combined with the condensation (all the window sills were absolutely soaking every morning). The breakfast was ok but getting down for 10am (breakfast is served until 1030am) there was nothing left for the continental breakfast (first day there wasn’t even toast) and they ran out of orange juice on both days, also the service was super slow, breakfast took about an hour and a half in total, it’s also really not that cheap so this isn’t acceptable. The second day the cleaners came to the room and asked did we need anything, we asked just for the towels to be changed as we had to use them to fry the soaking wet window sills and they never came back and didn’t set foot back in the room. The rooms weren’t really that clean either, lots of dust (bedding appeared to be clean though). We had booked to have dinner there on the second night but after the breakfast we decided to go elsewhere (also felt that almost £30 for two courses in a 3 star hotel was a bit steep).

The building is lovely, the food in the restaurant is superb, first class, I highly recommend. I would definitely go just to the restaurant on my next visit. One member of staff is very knowledgeable about cocktails, they were exquisite. Very welcoming and pleasant staff.
There's nothing not to like.
