A lovely character filled hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. Daniele was so informative and helpful. Nothing was a problem. The room was comfortable and everything was very clean. There was a delicious breakfast available for $4pp. The location was fabulous being just a short walk to the old town. Daniele recommended the restaurant just a few doors down where we had a delicious traditional Ecuadorian lunch. We were so pleased that we chose Casa CarpeDM for our stay in Quito.

Love this place! It way exceeded our expectations! Great location within walking distance to Old Town. Room was large and clean. Lovely plaza right across the streets. Restaurants and shops nearby. Staff was wonderful and very helpful!

The rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast was good and only 4USD. The staff were really friendly and always happy to help. Central location and a short walk from the old town.

The night before a tour I had booked a private double room for some comfort but was a bit annoyed to find I had been given a room with two single beds, own of which I could not use as I had a roommate the following night. This is not what I paid for or wanted. I heard another guy in the hostel had booked a 4 bed dorm but was given his own double bed room which seemed unfair giving the above. Breakfast is $4 extra which is a bit more than local prices. You get eggs, cereal.and breakfast but only one small bowl for both the cereal and the fruit which is a bit annoying, a separate bowl would not hurt. The communal toilet was out if order There is music played all day which can be a comfort or an annoyance depending on your opinion. There is wifi but it cuts out a lot. My/our door did not lock properly and the USB charger did not work.

the property was clean and I really liked the location. There were lots of restaurants and convenience stores around and it was very close to all the historic area highlights.

Staff were excellent with providing advice with tours and sights. Room is good size.

Our hosts, Fernanda and Daniela, and driver, Gabriel, were super welcoming, helpful with recommendations and friendly. They were happy to arrange tours and logistics for us, and provide great recommendations. The hostal is warm and comfortable, and while the rooms were simple, we had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast and facilities for cooking. Great location for walking to the Old Town. A wonderful stay!

Friendly and helpful staff

Room was nice and clean. The kitchen area was very nice with great city views and very clean.

Some of the kitchen items were not usable (ie kettle was missing a handle). We were told card payment are accepted and incur 6% fee but on the checkout we were informed it’s 12% + 6% so 18% fee - a bit sketchy, would prefer transparency so we can be prepared to pay in cash.

Called a hostel but actually a small hotel. Location was great! Room was spacious and beds comfy. Bathroom basic but clean and shower was great! Lots of hot water and good pressure. The staff, Daniela and Fernanda, are fantastic! Very helpful, with good English, useful info and a ready smile. And accommodated our crazy hours of travelling to and from the jungle.

Very very nice staff, comfortable rooms, breakfast was nice too (granola, fruit, coffee, tea, milk, yoghurt, bread/croissant, butter, jam and egg = 4$). Short walk to the old city centre, about 10-15 min. You can cook in the kitchen or use the fridge.

Stains on the sheets, small bed, small room, wet bathroom. That 1 hard boiled egg, 2 untoasted slices of sponge bread and some fruit are not worth the extra 4$.

The staff on reception were extremely welcoming and helpful with recommendations for walking around the historic area, trips and restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The staff is friendly and helpful, and it's in a great location near the historical centre.

I was in a room with a private bathroom the first few nights and while it was a nice room it was quite cold and loud from the streets. It's right off of the street so you can hear everything which woke me up often at night. I stayed in the 4 bed dorm the next two nights and found it to be much quieter and warmer. I also wish there were a microwave!

The stay at Casa CarpeDM was extraordinary good. The rooms incl. bath were well equipped and everything worked. Nice community rooms are available as well, for getting easily in touch with other guests: kitchen for preparing your own meals, and a large breakfast / community room in the ground floor. Extra appreciation has to go to the staff: super friendly and they helped out with any question one might have, incl. advices for the stay in Quito or Ecuador in general, as well as organizing trips: here, Casa CaepeDM has its own trips they offer, but they help you out with realizing your individual wishes. Overall, this goes way beyond what you would expect.
