I would not go back.

The service staff were very friendly and caring. The private beach was pretty but you can’t swim because there are puffer fish and octopuses

The room smelled like sewage and the restaurant service was terrible the food gave me food posining the last night the bread we were served had mold. The club was far from the city so you need a car to get around! They do not have microwave or fridge you can rent a mini fridge from the staff and no airport shuttle to and from the club. You are better off getting a hotel in the city !

They are close at the time of the departure

The help desk is really bad on costumer service and they don’t answer the phone and if you need help nobody’s around.

They ask for a deposit for the room and they never return the payment

Superb

Nice private beach ,,, food at the restaurant very good ,, clean room and nice bed ,,, LUPITA from housekeeping was always very helpful and she had very nice attention to the guess ,,, it's a nice place to relax,,

It would be nice to have a little mini refrigerator inside the room ,, because it was very hot outside and the are not market near by to buy ice ,,,

The hotel was in a good location if wanting to visit Playa Balandra. Staff were helpful and there was a great restaurant on site.

The privacy and rustic outdoor

At beginning I was turned off by peeling paint side street wall but ounces inside change my impression. Great staff and very comfortable room with a nice balcony facing the ocean.

This stay was a waste of time.

The staff were nice.

The tv had only Spanish except one child channel. Shampoo only, and soap the size of a pad of butter that didn’t lather. My “ocean view room” had a view only of boats. I got sick from the ceviche. The safe uses only their keys. The code entry pad is broken. The bed was hard.

Nice location far from the city. Very difficult to get food in the hotel and in the area.

Nice property by the sea with stunning views

Terrible service with food / beverages. This is very important because there’s no alternative around as the hotel is very far from La Paz. Restaurant says they open 8:30am while they actually open 9:30.

Situated right at the water the view was very nice. We were even lucky enough to have seen a humpback breaching from the restaurant.

The choice of restaurants in walking distance is very limited and the food at that beach restaurant not very good.

hotel is older and parking lots is really bumpy, staff were great and very friendly

liked that the property was right off the ocean and the hotel was quiet over all…..

Well, hotel heat/AC unit didn’t produce any heat…it was chilly at night and I froze for 3 out the 7 nights, the dock was rubbing against a pillar and all you heard all night was the grinding of the dock rubbing against the pillar. there was no mini fridge to store anything in….. location was a little farther then I expected

-room very clean and bed very comfortable - excellent staff on answering questions - great provide clean drinking water for refilling bottles

- hotel too close & very noisy truck nose at huge Baha ferry - this mostly day to early evening

Diving club is very good. Gael and his wife are the best. They love what they do and this has no price tag.

A bit far from the city and no supermarket around. The boutique in the hotel doesn't have much and the restaurant closes too early

I am sure there are nicer hotels, more luxurious, but Cantamar was clean, courteous, friendly, and close to Balandra Bea

we wanted to be out of the city so this location was perfect. it is right next to the semi truck ferry but we did not hear any of this noise in our room unless we opened the windows.

it was great for our family and exactly what we needed.

Watersports at your door

It’s the last hotel before Balandra. You can rent a kayak from the hotel and paddle to the wonderful beach. Two hours one way. Bed was very comfortable, shower perfect. Cantamar also organizes, with departures from the hotel, swimming with whale-shark, tour of Isla Spirito Santo and so on.

The location just behind the commercial port.

Very close to the most popular beach areas. Helpful staff and affordable cost

The hotel is located behind the port, so as a location it is not really the best. Rooms large but of poor quality, with small bathrooms and old showers. It is far from everything except the beaches. If you need to buy anything there are no stores nearby. There should be a fridge in the room so you can at least keep water in it... but instead there is nothing. In short, a hotel to choose only if you do diving activities since the hotel also runs a diving center. I had chosen it for this reason.....but the quality of the diving center was poor to say the least.

BED BUG WARNING/EL HOTEL TIENE CHINCHES

I stayed in Hotel Cantamar in July 2022 and got bitten by BED BUGS! Please don’t stay at this hotel. My holiday in beautiful La Paz was completely ruined. If something goes wrong there is no one who could help you - the receptionists have no power to make decisions and the hotel manager called Pedro doesn’t care. Pedro is so at the top of the food chain that the staff prefer to leave the customers upset than push him to resolve the issues. :( I don’t blame the staff, I blame the management. I was left alone to run around the complex at night to find help when I found the bugs in my room. The reception was closed and there was no emergency number to call to. The situation was resolved purely by actions of kind individuals - nothing to do with the hotel’s processes. As I had an early tour to attend after the night of horror I asked that no one would to enter my original room to avoid anymore damage to be done. Anyway when I came back I found out my room had been fumigated without my permission with all my stuff out there including toothbrush, make up brushes and food! I had to seek medical help twice to treat the bites. The second time at the doctor’s consultation I was nearly sent to the hospital as I was intoxicated by the bites. Luckily I had found the bug that the doctor knew which antibiotics he had to prescribe me. I will still need to do some exams after finishing the antibiotics. The bites also caused me a lot of discomfort and pain due to the inflammation.. The hotel did pay me once the transportation to the consultation but the manager refused to understand the seriousness of my condition as he offered to buy me some itch relief… Lol. Additionally I wasted so much time and energy by making sure all my stuff were free from bugs by taking the clothes to the dryer or ironing them. After that moving and reorganising everything. Also I constantly had to beg the receptionist that he could ask the manager to reply my emails.

Not sure when I’d be back La paz again but if I did I’d stay here

this hotel was amazing and only 10 mins drive to Bahia balandra (which is the main reason we came to La paz). we enjoyed our two night stay here so much that booked another two nights. also hiring kayaks here. the staff were amazing, attending to every request we had and spoke amazing English for us foreigners.

it’s annoying that there is no shops in the area so you can only buy food and drink from their restaurant (although their food is quite nice) you can only eat and drink what they have. not many taxis or Uber will collect you from here if you wanted to go out to town

Stay was good overall

Considering I wanted to be close to Balandra, this was the best option for the money. Staff was very personable. having a private beach was a big plus.
