Bonitos senderos

Los senderos, la vegetación, el mantenimiento de los jardines. Pudimos ver quetzales mientras desayunabamos.

La limpieza de las habitaciones, la ropa de cama estaba sucia y el desayuno no estaba de buen sabor.

Nicht zu empfehlen

Schöne Lage in den Bergen, hübsch angelegte Anlage, eigene Wanderwege.

Die Zimmer sind in die Jahre gekommen und kalt. Das Restaurant völlig überteuert und schlecht. Man muss alles extra bezahlen (25 Dollar pro Person für 2h „Spa“, also einen Whirlpool und eine Sauna, 20 Dollar für ein Fernglas).

Que cobren por el uso del jacuzzi. Deberia estar incluido con lo que uno paga por la noche. Deberia ser mas completo el desayuno. Se ofrece omelette con costo adicional, jamas lo vi en un 4*

Great place and staff. Need better bathrooms

Excellent check in and staff. Large room and bathroom. Clear information. Good breakfast

The bathroom whilst big was not particularly practical. Need more space to keep towels dry and then to dry them when wet.

Stay in San Gerard de Dota

Clean comfortable room with a good hot shower. Very good grounds with well thought out gardens to view the birds. Nice restaurant with good breakfast. Evening meals were ok but nothing special. We would definitely go again. The road down is steep but not really a problem.

If you want to stay in a place that exudes nature and beauty this is it.

The room was clean and had heat which is needed up there. The grounds were spectacular. Lots of birds and beautiful flowers to enjoy.

Amazing weekend in a confortable place and surrounded by nature.

Surrounded by nature. If you like hiking this place is perfect! Happy hour at the bar is pleasant. Food is really good too. Friendly staff

A TV in the room would have been nice.

Amazing unforgettable!

The environment is amazing. You wake up to the sounds of bird song and the river. The cabins have a cute fireplace. You are deep in the valley and the walks around the reserve are wonderful. The spa treatments were excellent. The gardens are a delight. It was a real treat for us and unforgettable.

This is feedback for the hotel - don't let it put you off the hotel because the experience is amazing anyway!! The cabins are quite cold with gaps under the door etc. The spa is not a warm building. Tours were not always running according to the reception so we did our own thing. The light pollution at night was a shame - we didn't sleep well because the room was so bright and you couldn't see the night sky. Would recommend they turn off the street lights after a certain hour. Have more tours running.

Amazing place, but nothing is perfect

The gardens are simply amazing. It seems the type of flora they have attracts lots of hummingbirds, dozens of them! And they sing all day long. Some other birds can be seen just by getting our of your room. The trails they have on the property are out of this world too. And the SPA, you must go to the SPA!

My girlfriend and I went to hiking around the property. Sadly she left her wallet with some credit cards exposed over the desktop. We arrived back to the room, but we were confident that there should be nothing to be alarmed. After some days (around 4 days after), she started to see charges on one of her credit cards, it seems someone got the card info (number and CCV code), and registered on a delivery app and started to buy things, for a total of +$500. This card was never used on any other business to pay nothing. It was actually brand new, and those were the first charges she got, and everything started to happen the day before we check-out the hotel according to bank registries. The hotel was notified and they are apparently investigating who could be, no more info at the moment. Oh! And they also extracted a $20 bill. But just as a reminder to everyone, it doesn't matter how beautiful and classy a hotel might look, always keep your documents and valuable stuff locked, cause you never know if someone of their staff could have bad intentions.

I can understand why this place has a high rating

* the crew: waitres, reception and cleaning services were very nice and helpful *The place offers nice trail and have a very nice environment and gardens *The food in the restaurant is very good * The massage was very good

The spa was a bit expensive, had no hot water in the shower and it closed up after an hour of using the sauna and jacuzzi

bedroom was not clean. We made a complaint and they upgrade to a different room. Because we had pictures and evidence. Food was good but not amazing.

Wonderful

We had a major car problem and they helped us out a great deal. Went on the Quetzal bird tour and it was successful! Great people at this resort.

Great hotel, beautiful Nature and amazing service

Great property, service and food.. customer service was absolutely amazing.

Wifi connection was not so good in the rooms (102) and the bathroom could use a little bit of an upgrade.

The Nature scene is great, It esa clean, the hotel is good

The food had terrible taste, the service staff was so bad, We had to wait about 30 minutes just to get the menu, i guess the y hace much to improve in that sense

Paradise in San Gerardo de Dota

Room was spacious and comfortable and set in a garden filled with birds. Tour the hotel organized was great and the guide (Raul-sp?) was awesome, even showed us a toucanet nest! Included breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Free trails were awesome. Easily one of the nicest places we have ever stayed, would definitely visit again.

WiFi was a bit spotty in the cabin, but it was great in the main building.

Mountain hotel with lots of rooms, with a huge private nature park to explore

A big complex high up in the hill ,over 2400 meters, great accommodation in beautiful gardens, with a great choice of breakfasts served at table. There is a massive private nature reserve full of well marked trails to explore (there is even one you can drive up with a 4x4). The Spa can be booked out for private session at very low cost (even if not all the rooms work, only the jacuzzi and the sauna really), there are also massages on offer.
