Everything was super clean, our room was cleaned on a daily basis and staff took care to do so after we’d left the room so as to not disturb us; they also contacted us promptly upon finding personal items that were left behind
Nothing!
5.0
The location
The noisy water pump was annoying as was the dripping kitchen tap and noisy fridge. It wasn’t as clean as I would expect for a plus $300 per night accomodation.

great location and warm fireplace. when we had an issue with tv, staff came straight away to replace batteries on the tv remote control.
Toiletries such as toothbrush or toothpaste weren’t provided. Spa didn’t work at all. only few tissues were provided in the tissue box.

Loved the location. Very comfortable and perfect for a weekend trip from the city
The shower leaked in the bathroom because the screen didn’t work properly.

Location is good, portable heaters in the room worked well
Old, not maintained, window didn't lock, no hot water on the second day, super thin walls so could hear everything from the neighbours, bathroom couldn't fit more than one person at a time.

very comfortable and self check in was great
Little noisey when people walking on the hall stairs etc

I didn’t really enjoyed my stay so it’s really hard to be positive. I guess the location is great
The bed was nice although hard to sleep with all the banging of the pipes
Gas heater is nice
It wasn’t clean, cobwebs on the roof
The room isn’t clean, needs new carpet at the very least or vacuum and steam cleaning
It’s noisy, I had to pack up early and get out of there
If you turn the water on the pipes bang, like really loud and then I felt guilty because of apartments next door
I got the spa room but it’s too noisy to fill the spa and hardly any water pressure.
The people in the apartment next to me
got home around midnight and then they were having showers and making food or whatever until maybe 2 am. It was scary because I’m by myself and the banging in the pipes so loud
It also sounded like water was flooding my room from somewhere
It was truly awful experience. Also had an adjoining door and they were trying to open it late at night, I started to pack up and left not long after.
The room I stayed in does not resemble any of the pictures. I was in the rooms in the red brick building maybe it’s different
I sent at least two emails at 1 am quite distressed and I never received a reply. If I received a reply I would’ve bothered with the reviews

The hotel is a lovely old building and the room was furnished in period style. It was well located and close to all restaurants, cafes etc.
When I turned the key to the room, I was immediately smacked in the face by a very strong mildew, mouldy smell. The smell was overpowering. The dehumidifier that was in the room clearly was unable to clear the air. Mouldy, furry growth was noticed in the carved sections of the furniture. Black spots were visible, and the window was wet with condensation and black around the frame edges. I wasn't in there for long before I ended up with a severe headache, which didn't leave until I departed at the first light of day. It was on account of the damp and mould a most undesirable experience. I hope that the rest of the hotel is better than the room that I had. I was in room [1].

Location was ideal
No coffee provided. Extremely uncomfortable bed. Extremely uncomfortable pillows. Extremely noisy due to exhaust fan not secure causing it to make a dreadful noise every time there was a gust of wind. Not hospitable at all, no human contact at all which is very cold and rude considering they're suppose to be a host. Pink scunge around the grout of spa tiles. No bench around or near bathroom vanity. No biscuits or nibbles. The previous owner Ziggy was great and a lot better and more suited for this industry!

very close to the main street, very comfortable. the bed is a little bit noisy.
when we arrived our room wasnt ready/clean but a quick call to reception and they changed our room :) and also we booked a room with a garden view but it is not a real garden, it is just a place with some bushes heheh
5.0
The bed is comfortable and the location is very close to the central
The fan and ceiling light are not working, not able to turn on the fan when feeling the room is too stuffy.
The room is very small, not many rooms to walk around

More an AirBnB type rental with its remote check-in and room key in a lockbox by the door. The room is just big enough but furnished well with very luxurious bedding. The bathroom is seperate from the room and down a short corridor, but no dramas as the owners provide robes for that purpose. Big bathroom with some neat touches thst suited the age and style of the property.
The water pressure to the shower could be improved, the water is hot, there just isn't enough of it.

Very comfortable and great location. Short walk into town. Contactless check in worked well.

The location is good and it has some charm.
The bed was horrible and I had the worst sleep I've ever had here at this hotel. Would never come back and would never recommend it to anyone either.

Tidy apartment with old town charm and close to town centre.

Great location, able to walk to the centre of everything. Quiet street and charming restored historic building.
We were a little disappointed that the spa didn't match the spa in the pictures of the room we booked. The model in the pictures was much newer and with head rests.
This one had no head rests, meaning we had to use towels... and guess what, there were only two towels! Thin little ones, which weren't worthy of a 'spa-like' experience at all. Of course they got soaked through pretty quickly.
When a spa is a selling point for a room, as this was, make sure towels and surrounding features are consistent with this. In addition to the towel issue, there was no shampoo - just a random collection of products - conditioner, 'lotion', vanity kit and sewing kit. So no, you couldn't wash your hair or even use shampoo to get some bubbles in the tub.
Finally, this rather elderly spa has a broken water flow switch - so you can't select the bath faucet or the shower... the water just flows to both outlets simultaneously.

The bed was comfortable and I had a good night’s sleep. I appreciated the complimentary meal vouchers.
The hotel could be better maintained. The room was a bit dusty and I kept finding animals inside (spider, worm, dead insects). Ideally, they should provide slippers for guests to go between the room and the external bathroom. The living area was comfortable, but didn’t feel very safe as anyone could walk in off the street. I think it’s important to have an in-person reception and it seems a bit lazy not to.

Great location. Rooms are very nice, and we received a $25 breakfast voucher for a local café each day, which was good. The bed was very comfortable, and the doona was lovely and warm. Also really good pillows!
the ensuites are tiny, and the shower is quite small, I think a larger person might struggle. Also, there are no staff on site, and the entry all is being used for storing cleaning trollies etc.,. which doesn't do a lot for the overall ambiance. other than the rooms, the entry hall etc.,. was quite untidy, also didn't like having no "real person" to talk to on check in. The texts were very explanatory, but travel is about people for me. I thought it was expensive for what it was.

My husband and I had a great 2 night stay we had apartment no 5 both the bedrooms were a good size both with queen beds basic kitchenette with appliances to cook a meal 2 couch’s in living room we could lie on 1 each while watching tv the gas log heater was amazing kept the apartment so warm of a night the balcony was great we enjoyed sitting out in the sun
we loved everything the only thing I’d advise on is that it’s a 5 minute easy down hill walk to the Main Street but a bit of a up hill slog going home we just walked around past the Daylesford Hotel then up past the bowling club it was a lot easier on the knees

Excellent central location. Clean and comfortable. This was a more affordable option during Chillout festival.
Nothing much. The property was pretty much as expected. Pillows were way too big and no smaller options provided.

Lounge set up and furniture, balcony, size of apartment
Not enough toilet paper, washing liquid, tea, sugar were supplied. When we used the microwave it kept tripping the fuse box and shutting everything down. There were several lights that didn’t have working globes in them, including the front door light, and the bathroom. The shower didn’t drain properly so you were standing in a puddle of water. Bathroom and bedrooms were a little bit dark.

Lots of character, great position.
Comfy bed and nice bed linen.
Separate private bathroom which was lovely and stylish but a pain in the middle of the night. Small room so all available floor space taken with an open suitcase. Difficult to manoeuvre up/down narrow staircase with suitcases. Take overnight bag if possible. Probably wouldn’t stay again but great for just one night.

The location how close to Vincent Street it was. The bed was very comfortable.

We like the location and the old world charm of the building
It’s a shame that it is contact free now. We’ve stayed before and enjoyed the interaction with the staff. The morning of check out the power cut out We didn’t know why or for how long. There was a number to call but as it could have been a brief interlude we didn’t want to bother them.

location and cleaniness
the spa bath didn’t work

Overall space was nice and open.
Lots of natural light. Lots of lighting options to create a nice ambience in the evening.
Good tea selection. Bed was very comfy. Easy to find parking. Great location - could easily walk to the main street.
Great to have Netflix and Stan available. Easy self check in process.
We received a nice little surprise with their sister hotel, Frangos.
Note: there are some stairs inside the property from the front door (three or four steps).
The Wi-Fi was a bit weak at times which made the streaming service a bit slow.
As this was a self check in we had to track down a cleaner to ask for a couple of extra toiletries - not a big deal as you could ask at Frangos in the main street but some people might prefer to know that there isn't a person on site at all times but there is a phone number to call if you need anything.

Location is fa lupus walking distance of Main Street
I would highly recommend you attend to the following:
1) there were a lot of cobwebs inside the room, particularly near the front door and around all the windows, these should be checked and cleaned regularly
2) There were some insects at the entrance near the floor mat, this area should also be checked regularly and cleaned
3) the bathroom needs something to put your toiletries on and there should be somewhere to hand your towels closer to the shower
4) the front of the room has a table and two chairs however we could not enjoy this space as it was covered in dust and cobwebs and the front window was also covered in dust and cobwebs. This area should be washed down and kept tidy and clean, we had to avoid going outside for fresh air and opening the front window for fresh air.

Great location, good facilities, spacious for two people. Bed was very comfortable with great coverings.
Parking isn't great, wifi was flaky.

beautifully presented, very clean, very convenient to the town centre
I was in room 5 for three nights. The fact that I had to go out into the corridor to get to my bathroom was less than ideal. I was paying a lot and I feel this aspect of the booking was a bit of a let-down.

very comfortable
