The lobby was dark, the floor hallway was worn, the room door was made of steel, the room floor was worn and grimy, the wallpaper was yellow and peeling, the room had no ventilation, the “air conditioning” was actually a seasonal heating/cooling unit without a temperature control which was set to deliver heat to the room even though the room temperature was 26C when I arrived. When I opened the window to cool the room, I discovered that there was a ventilation pipe near my window was regularly releasing something that smelled like plastic burning. The bathroom was decades old.

Very reasonable. Very close to the highway bus stop. A big shopping mall and a CV are located nearby.

Facilities are old and not very clean, but bearable considering the price.

The room was all right, it was a good place to just sleep after a day of sightseeing and traveling around the area. No big expectations here, you get exactly what you pay for. The lobby is kind of cool though, and it's close to Lakewalk.

The rooms were a little bit small, but apart from that there isn't much to complain about. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear your neighbors talking if you're trying to sleep.

The hotel is a bit old, but honestly well maintained and the reception staff is absolutely welcoming and kind. Plenty of amenities - yet pretty standard in these kind of hotels (fresh bottles, warm towel, free coffee/tea and all kinds of hygiene related products, bath luffa, fridge and kettle) Our room was bigger than Japanese standard, clean and we slept very well. The carpet was actually cleaner than some better ranked hotels we stay in (Nagano) Although it is not close to the station, you can walk 15mn to get there or to Suwa lake. We came by Alpico bus (run by Willer) where we alighted 2 minutes away from the hotel, we were not bother at all to be far from the station. There is a 7-Eleven nearby, a huge mall (LakeWalk) with food options. Honestly, we really enjoyed our stay in Okaya!

Maybe because we had no high expectations we really enjoyed this hotel!
