About this house rental
Nestled in Durango, this lovely house for $184 per night is a great option for your next break. The Purple Juniper is an updated and inviting half-duplex four blocks to Main Ave. The home faces a sunny and quiet neighborhood street. It is cozy with an open floor plan with an updated bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen and living room are connected by a granite island with three seats. Additional dining seating in the Summer is a four-seat table on the front deck. The bedrooms have a queen bed in one room and two twins in the second room. All beds are solid, plush, and comfortable. Evaporative cooling in the Summer additionally provides for restful nights. The adjacent unit's primary access is from the back of the house, while Purple Juniper's access is from the front, with dedicated use of the front patio seating, and grill. In addition to Main Avenue and downtown, hiking and biking trails including the Nature Trail and Sky Steps are within a few blocks of the home. The neighborhood is pedestrian and dog-friendly and the block on which Highland Sage sits is especially quiet and peaceful. When you arrive, you will have a combination to enter the home. I am readily available to help as much as needed or leave you in privacy per your preference. Guests are welcome to bring a dog, provided the pup does not get on furniture or beds; the fee is $75 per stay per dog. For stays of only two nights, this is reduced to $50 per dog. No more than two dogs are permitted. Friendly and low-key dispositions are best suited for the pedestrian orientation of the neighborhood. You may be interested in also checking out the executive rental next-door, the Highland Sage, which is a three-bedroom home with similar amenities. The property manager communicated well. There were plenty of dishes, glasses, towels and extra bedding. The location is fantastic - easy walk to shops, bars and restaurants. Free street parking near (often right in front of) property.

The location of Purple Juniper was what attracted us to this property. It is in a quiet neighborhood with an easy walk to downtown. Add to that the wonderful front deck, the lovely accommodations, and excellent communication with Victoria, and it is a place I will hope to book when we visit again. We highly recommend!

The property is in a great location within walking distance to virtually all points of interest in the downtown area. It is also in a very quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is well stocked with useful items rather than just “stuff” as is often found. All in all a very nice place to stay and I highly recommend it.

We adored this property and loved the location of this home so much that we are now looking to buy in the same neighborhood! We were able to walk everywhere we needed to (downtown, Hogsback, Fort Lewis, City Market…). The home was clean and well stocked. Victoria was amazing. She contacted us throughout our stay to make sure all was well and we didn’t need anything. We totally recommend the Purple Juniper house. Thanks for everything Victoria!

This property is in great proximity to historic downtown Durango. A short walk to shopping, breweries and many restaurants. Only downside was the cleanliness was not great - but still a good rental.

Well put together home, compact and yet spacious. Good location, quiet and within walking distance to Main Avenue restaurants and shops. Owner/manager Victoria was very responsive and helpful. We had a terrific four-night stay.

The Purple Juniper was perfect for my stay in Durango. You can walk to everywhere downtown in minutes or take a short drive to stores like Natural Grocers . Very charming, clean and cozy! Quiet and clean and wonderful amenities. Great if you are cooking or even want a morning smoothie. Victoria is very responsive, but there was very little not thought of or explained right inside for the stay! Will look forward to another stay down the road, my first choice in town. Highly recommended!

Our family loved our stay at the purple juniper! We could easily walk to Durango Main Street, which we regularly did for meals and shopping, but the street was quiet and the home was exceptionally clean and well-appointed for cooking and even laundry. I've stayed at a lot of rentals and have never had such a well-equipped kitchen- they had all appliances, dishes, even a variety of spices available for use. Beds were comfortable and cozy. Would recommend 100% and would stay here again.

Purple Juniper was the perfect home base for our visit to Durango. Located in the historic downtown area we were within walking distance of some great shopping, dining, and the awesome river trail.
Victoria was a great host and was available to us when needed. The house was spotless and we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend Purple Juniper!

Durango 3 Day Visit
Durango was one of our stops on our Summer vacation. The house was great, very clean and suited our needs perfectly. Nestled in a quiet little neighborhood with a close walk to Main Street. Victoria was very responsive and accomodating.

The host was fabulous about reaching out to see if we needed anything. Very well stocked with plates, mugs dishes etc. Also lots of bath towels. I specifically chose this house for the close proximity to downtown. It was very easy to get to and from town by foot or car.

It was easy to access downtown and hiking trails at this location! I would stay here again. The property manager took care of internet connection immediately. She was easy to contact and quick to respond. Overall charming and refreshing.

The stay was exactly what we wanted - walking distance to Main Street, nice place to sit outside and let the dogs roam (only if your dog can be trusted off leash, no fenced yard), clean and comfortable.

We had an excellent stay. The manager was prompt in response. The house itself is one of the best equipped rentals we have stayed at and thoroughly enjoyed cooking in and dining out on the porch in the sunshine (even in January). Thanks Victoria!
