Great views and a good breakfast

In my opinion the refurbishment isn’t finished and it was dirty in places. Lift not commissioned yet

The price was High. Window are all James open with paint. No lift as yet.

Very clean, modern rooms, perfect showers! Excellent staff, all very friendly and helpful- polite, courteous- Precious in the restaurant was the epitome of efficiency and excellent customer service. Truly inspiring as a hostess, always smiling whilst Gino from housekeeping left the rooms looking perfect everyday, impossible to fault.

Only that the elevator was out of service- being on the 3rd floor was a bit of a pain! The room lighting was a bit too bright to relax with in the evening perhaps this could be looked at.

Do not stay here if you have a party greater than two. Upon arriving with our party of three we were greeted with a “suite” set up for two people. They hadn’t set up the sofa bed, which additionally when setup completely blocks the entry to the toilet rendering it unusable. Upon raising this with the staff we were refused a discount, as our booking was “non refundable”. The manager was unwilling to do anything to make amends of the situation. We were told “all we can do is make up the sofa bed, thats what you paid for.” I mean that’s fair enough but we also paid for a suite with a usable bathroom. To top it off when the upstairs neighbour used their shower it was dripping through the light fitting in the bathroom. Horrible hotel, awful service.

The location and internal interior, restaurant was lovely and breakfast was excellent , some of the staff were very nice , but the greeting we got from reception at start was poor

We were on 4th floor room and no lift although they did offer to help with luggage, tools and ladder was still there as they were still being refurbished, not visually pleasing , whilst walking down stairs , member of uniformed staff was sitting on stairs on mobile , room was very warm and could not open window as they had been siliconed sealed

Although the hotel is currently under renovation - 2 floors are completed to a very high standard (we were given a feee upgrade also 🙂) at no point during our 2 night stay were we disturbed by any continuing renovation works. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The beds are huge and very comfortable, with bed linen and towels of a high quality. The chef on our 2nd morning came out to chat to us, again very friendly & the breakfast he made us was just fabulous even though it was way too much of what we would normally have, fresh fruit, cooked breakfast, pastries, meats/cheese, juices, tea/coffee. The location is perfect, directly across from the north pier in the centre of town. We will definitely be going back. Thank you, Team Muthu Siobhan Mowat
