The breakfast was not very good and expensive for what was offered. Very limited choice.

We arrived early for our reservation and the room was ready but they told us to come back at 3:00. They told us to go to the next town for lunch. We tried and found no place to park. They were not nice to us at all. I asked about the Spa and she responded. "by appointment only". wow. I wanted to book a massage. Maybe coming in with jeans on makes you look like you can't afford the place. I can... I didn't like their attitude. I tried to cancel and nope... not happening.. The place is old, smells musty. I am glad we moved on. Would not recommend with the attitude at the front desk. I am not rich but I can afford a massage. We found it creepy....
I didn't like the attitude from the front desk. I could tell they didn't like us from when we walked in.. Maybe because we are Americans I don't know. I do speak enough French to get around though. I was felt that we were below their standards. I tried to cancel and they said no way Jose on the day of... We had just booked it. Felt ripped off. Still do.. We love France and most people put up with our ignorance of the language. Been coming to France for 30 years not used to not being welcomed. Would not recommend if you are not French. They wouldn't even let us leave out luggage. It is along haul from the parking lot.. no signs at all. Looks cool from the outside. but move one. the people on the inside don't want you.

The property is beautiful and the staff very helpful. Dinner service at the restaurant was amazing and the quality of food and wine was incredible.

Amazing building in a tiny village just outside of the madness of Carcassonne. Staff were friendly and helpful and had prepared a place for our bicycles. There are lovely gardens, lounges, bar to enjoy. The food was excellent.
The bed was very comfy.
The toilet had been separated from the bathroom and was in little more than a cupboard. I hit my head on the door every time I sat on the loo.

The Chateau de Floure is a charming historic property which managed to keep its soul. The people at the Chateau are kind and helpful and gave us much information on the property. The area is lovely and wonderfully quiet. We definitely recommend the restaurant of the hotel which was delicious.
A great stay and we'd happily come back.
All went well.

Fabulous food in the restaurant with excellent service (but see minus points below).
The Chateau is a bit run down and could do with a serious makeover to both the public rooms and certainly to the room we stayed in. We stayed for 2 nights and on the first night, we were one of three couples, and on the second night we were one of only two couples. How they stay in business with these occupancy rates is a mystery, and perhaps explains why they do not spend some money on improvements to the surroundings.

We liked the the actual building and the location suited us well.
The interioior decor and artifacts were really interesting and provided a good enviroment and that aspect of the hotel was exceptional
None of the facililitiesw ere open there was no real serivise through the day no lunch facility. Dinner in the evening was very expensive and not really up to standard for the price. The service was by students who were on work experience and although pleasent they were not up to the job. It was advertised as a SPA hotel but the SPA was not open

Reception staff were very friendly. Ample parking, including electric charge point. Good food for breakfast and a lovely restaurant for evening meal. But what really makes this place special is the architecture and ambiance. It’s a former monastery/abbey and you can feel it is built to instil a sense of calm. Even with a wild 5 year old in our company, we still managed to feel peaceful here. The room size helps - vast rooms open out onto shaded gardens with old trees and vines. It’s a very special place which I’d like to have stayed longer in.
The pool was a little strange - quite cold and it seemed old around the edges.
The cost of the room was quite high but adding a fairly pricey meal and breakfast on top made this feel like a lot of money for what you got.

Room smelt damp. Room very tired and in need of repair. Shower waste blocked and flooded bathroom. Plug sockets hanging out of wall. Faded grandeur I am afraid.

Very subtly decorated to add to the overall calmness of the hotel. Good bathroom. Good breakfast, Very obliging staff. Interesting architecture and history. Gated car park.
Bedroom was not as expected from the pictures. Small TV. No foreign language channels. Room lighting, as usual in hotels these days, very subdued. Not adequate for ladies who want to make up sitting in the bedroom rather than standing in the bathroom.

The breakfast was good. The location was further from Carcasonne centre than I had expected.
The room smelt very damp and wasn't particularly clean, there was a dog pee when we got there :(
