Great location, great breakfast. It was nice to also have the lovely cafe and outside patio area overlooking the river. The perfect spot to enjoy a drink in the afternoon. Right next to the cathedral and easy walking distance to everything in town.
Rooms were quite small. We had to put our suitcase on the closet floor to be able to walk around the bed. But we didn’t spend any time in the room except to rest or sleep, so not much of an issue.

Nicely located, very good breakfast

Good location, close to downtown Trondheim (an easy 15 min. walk).
Unfriendly staff (check-in, breakfast area and housekeeping). The breakfast was quite disorganized, and the staff here (mostly young) were very unhelpful and rude. The room and the bathroom were very small.

The ambiance and decor was charming, inside and out. The on-site staff were very friendly and helpful. Booking.com responded to questions quickly.

The front desk person was stupendous. The breakfast buffet was generous and included consideration for gluten free needs. We also had lunch sandwiches that were quite good.
The proximity to the cathedral was better than I hoped.

Very nice breakfast, a lot of to choose from.
Also, tea and coffee were available all day next to the reception desk.

This place had such a lovely vibe. Our superior double room was actually a bedroom with a separate living room, and a wonderful view over the river. Breakfast was continental style with a good variety of uncooked options, but there were also waffles, and warm soft-boiled eggs. Uncovered parking was conveniently located at the back of the property. There was no TV, but surprisingly, this wasn't missed. We arrived after Reception closed, but the check-in process was easy. The hotel is located close to the city centre. There are beautiful walks nearby. Staff we encountered were all very pleasant.
Be aware that the hotel is actually called 'Nidaros Pilegrimsgård', not 'Pilegrimsgården Hotell og Gjestegård' as listed on booking.com. We had difficulty finding it because of this, and also because it was located at the end of a street, down what looksed like a footpath. However, you can drive down the footpath.
There was no soap in the shower, and we hadn't brought any with us, as other hotels generally provide it.
We were unable to access the internet on the first night we arrived. It just wouldn't connect, but was fully operational by early the next morning.

Perfect location! Behind the hotel it’s the church, which I chose as the first destination of my trip. and the bridge is not far away.
There’s no hair dryer. The breakfast is kinda overrated

No socket in the bathroom and no mirror in the room. Hence, difficult to style your hair with a curling iron.

- Location directly located to a river
- Yogurt at breakfast was spoiled (prickly)
- Very spartan rooms (bed and nothing else)

This is an exceptionally unique and interesting place to stay. Quiet, by the river, right next to the cathedral, beautiful views from the bedrooms and communal lounge. Highly recommended if you are looking for somewhere quirky, unusual, and quiet.
No kitchen for guest use, which I would expect in a hostel.

Room was comfortable enough for our one night stay. Proximity to the river and cathedral was nice. Appreciated the evening tea and coffee freely available. Unfortunately we left too early to try the breakfast.

Sentral location, and easy to reach by car. Self-check-in and out. The room was clean, and even low standard, it was a small nice soap on the bed and multiple clean towels.
The information about it being a Self-check-in and out hotel. In the description, I didn't read about it (might be my observancey).
The bathroom could have been a little more clean.

Breakfast was good and staff accommodating to allow us to check in early. The tea bar was a nice touch, and it was a scenic location.
No complaints, value for money!

To be honest, didnt expect a real pilgrims hotel - but it was a wonderful discovery. The hotel offers such an unique flair, it was lovely. Outstanding location, very clean, wonderful common rooms (especially the library), wide and good breakfast.

Location of the place is fantastic! Look to water is beautiful!. Close to Cathedral which is exeptional. They have very tasty breakfast with bread from own bakery.

The staff was really nice, the area was great and the building was very cozy! We were very pleased overall.
The beds made sounds when we moved, like there was plastic on the mattress. Not much space for a stroller, but nice to have an extra bed when traveling with a small child. The decor a bit dated, but in the end a very good place to stay!
