The room was large airy and very clean as was the bathroom. The Pasta meal I had was excellent.

Oh the parking. The centre of Bridgend is pedestrianised so unless you arrive after 1800hrs you cannot drive to the hotel. Car parks are a bit of a trek. Once the automatic bollards drop you can park on the path around the hotel if you want, but how safe that is I am not sure. This is nothing the hotel can change though.

Central location, room was clean, staff were brilliant

Excellent hotel, very comfortable and being a Spoons very good prices for everything.

Only problem is the car park which is a fair walk away, carrying luggage to the hotel is a pain over cobbles but 100% this would not stop me staying here again.

The gentleman at reception was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome instantly. He gave us all the information we needed and had a great sense of humour. Our room was clean and felt luxurious. I loved the addition of drawings by primary school children on the wall as opposed to cheesy paintings. Even though it is above the pub, the noise is almost non existent and it allowed for a restful night sleep. The addition of being able to just walk down a flight of stairs to get to breakfast at Whetherspoons is a definite bonus! A great place to stay!

The room was beginning to look tired. The air-con was very noisy for the first hour. Difficult parking.

Breakfast was standard Wetherspoons fare. Service was quick and friendly. Good central location made access to town facilities easy.

Quite noisy late at night but to be expected living above a town centre bar.

The rooms were nice and comfortable and modern

The down side is because a part of weatherspoons pub is was very busy, full of drunk people and you cant get any sleep until after 1.30am it was so noisy people shouting screaming, then other guess up and down all night slaming doors where they keep going out to smoke.

Perfect location for rail travellers. Large, comfortable bedroom and excellent breakfast.

The rooms are very well appointed, with modern fittings, huge and comfortable beds, an efficient shower and (in our double room) enough space for a sofa and armchair. Most of the time, our room was very quiet, with no noise from the pub under the hotel.

Although the hotel has done a good job in preventing noise reaching the rooms from the bar, it's worth bearing in mind that there will be noise from the corridors at busy times and the pub necessarily has daily deliveries - our room was directly above the entrance to the cellar, and we were treated to a lively clattering alarm early each morning. It was disappointing that the WiFi was not working in our room ("Yes, we get a lot of complaints about that" from the reception desk). Although we thought that the room was very well furnished in general, we were surprised that there were no drawers in the room, which would make it difficult to use as a base for more than a night or two.
