I read somewhere that it might be one of the best address in Sri Lanka and I think they are right. When I booked the room the rating sparked my interest as it was probably the highest I have ever seen on Booking.com …But this is actually more than deserved !! The place is just awesome, the owner and his family are lovely. The rooms are sparkling clean and very comfortable. The food was great (breakfast and dinner) A feel like home feeling. Our son received a small elephant as a key ring as a souvenir Value for money is simply exceptional. Please do not hesitate and go visit nature house ASAP. Last tip: in case you arrive late, let your host know that you want to have dinner so that he can plan accordingly. Unfortunately Sri Lanka is pretty quiet these days…

Einen besseren Gastgeber kann man sich nicht wünschen. Super hilfsbereit, freundlich und lustig. Top Curry Buffet am Abend unbedingt mitbuchen! Safari kann direkt vor Ort gebucht werden. Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt!

Really nice rooms, friendly staff, the owner was able to organise safari and massage. The food was delicious, perfect place to stay when visiting Udawalawe!

The host is incredibly welcoming and friendly. The location is quiet and wooded with good views of birds, including 2 scops owls. The rooms are spacious and clean, with air conditioning and very comfy beds. The evening meal and breakfast were delicious... a great selection of curries in the evening, with great vegetarian choices to meet our request. The owner has his own jeeps, and so we arranged a trip into Udawalawe National Park, which gave us great views of elephants. The value for money is exceptional! We will definitely go again if we holiday in the area in the future.

The Lonely Planet assessment is fitting - this was probably the best place we stayed in during our trip. Rooms very pleasant, food very good and the host very efficient and friendly. The armchairs in front of the room facing the jungle forest were a nice bonus.

- The owner is really friendly and will help you organise every activity that you want to do - Best safari organised by the hotel, providing a good driver (perfect english) that will provide you a magnificent experience (especially for elephants). Best price (-50% than normal company) - Clean room and well decorated - Quiet - Close to the center (- Best lime juice in Sri Lanka)

Very large, super clean rooms with verandas overlooking the forest. Great food - really delicious rice and curry (I need that dhal recipe - it was so good). Extremely helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. We booked a safari with Nature House and it was excellent. Our guide spoke English and was very knowledgeable. We often drive away from the other vehicles and could sit and watch herds of elephants by ourselves. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you!

First of all, the rooms are amazing - definitely the best we’ve stayed in in Sri Lanka. They were extremely spacious, clean and airy. We wanted to stay a second night purely for the room, the food and the host! His wife made the curry buffet and it was one of the best curries we had ever had, and lunch and breakfast were also delicious and very reasonably priced. It was perfected located for a safari and a visit to the elephant transit home (only a walk away). Finally, the host was so welcoming and helpful, and nothing was too much to ask. Thank you!!

Beautiful property close to the National Park, with lovely hosts. Well maintained and spacious rooms, and excellent local food for breakfast and dinner. Safari arranged by the host as well.

Exceptionally helpful owner, who organised a great safari. He was lovely with the children. The dinner was excellent each evening with plenty of options on the buffet. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with good ac and a fan.

The hotel itself is a very beautiful and well maintained property. You can see how much effort the owners put to make it this way. It’s super clean, comfortable and absolutely worth staying there. We stayed only 1 night but regretted not booking it for longer. In front of each room there is „leisure area” with chairs, table, hamack. The surroundings are green and full of different plants which makes it peaceful and calm. The owner is a very friendly and kind person who will help to make your trip as great as possible. The wifi is very good and in the room you’ll find kettle/tea facilites which I appreciated a lot.

All is really perfect!

It feels like home. We have only stayed one night and needed to travel to the East. Mr Thilak gave us great help and took us to the bus in the morning. Breakfast was great (fruit, juice, coffee and toasts). Room facing the forest, beautifully decorated, with a balcony to relax. With air-con and fan. Great value for money.

Incredible accomodation, you will not go wrong staying here. The staff are absolutely incredible, help you in any way you can, the driver they have for the safari really knows his stuff (was spotting more animals than other drivers we could see, has so much knowledge too), the room itself was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The food they made was also perfect. We were recommended this place from another couple I met travelling - they said if you stay at any place in Sri Lanka, stay at Nature House in Udawalawe - I want to pass this on as they were right!

We really enjoyed our stay at Nature house. Surrounded by nature, we could hear the birds and animals, it was really relaxing. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The host is really friendly and helpful. The food is really good, especially the cucumber and pineapple salad!!!! We booked an early morning safari with them, it was a fair price except that the entrance fee had doubled (controlled by government). We recommend!!!

There’s not a lot of restaurants close to the hostel, but they cook very well!!

Amazing service. Greeted us. Excellent room upgrade for free in the day. Extremely friendly and helpful. Advised us where to go for dinner as we arrived very late and arranged safari for us first thing in the morning with pickup included. Breakfast was waiting when we got back.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of the green, clean rooms, great service and incredibly nice host. The best dinner I have eaten in Sri Lanka so far, so definitely eat there. Breakfast was also great. The host helps with every issue and organizes you a greatfull safari. Would come back anytime.
