Superior food in the hotel restaurant

Very nice and helpful staff . Room's clean. Tasty breakfast.

On the day of our arrival it was only 26 degrees and yet the room was a little stuffy. No ventilation, no air conditioning, no fan. It's a bit pricy.

This is a small family-run hotel, situated in a village approximately 15 min. car drive away from Bamberg. Pretty quiet location and home-like style. The hotel is easy to find and, in comparison to hotels in Bamberg, offers value for money. The restaurant at the entrance floor is a plus, especially if you arrive after a long journey and you are not in the mood of driving further to Bamberg (the restaurant is popular with the locals, so better make a reservation if you plan eating there during your stay!) The rooms are clean and the breakfast is OK, with a selection of both salty and sweet to choose from.

The beds were rather uncomfortable - pretty soft mattresses and quite big but thin pillows. We also missed the friendly touch of warm hospitality, which we have experienced when staying at family-run hotels elsewhere: we were handed over the keys upon our arrival, we received information about how to make a reservation at the restaurant for the evening, and that was pretty much it.

Staff was very friendly. Good beds. Good food. Good breakfast.

Bathroom was small and old.

Apart from the mattress the room was nice and very clean. The room had a nice balcony.

The mattress needs badly to be changed. It was pretty worn out and not very comfortable to sleep on.
