Since 2007, with great satisfaction, we have been sharing our home with Travellers. To the”Ai Torchi Vecchi”(the meaning of the name of this place is:”to the old presses”)is one of the most striking corners which is in the valley of the river Rosaro in Lunigiana,in the north-west part of Tuscany.It is perhaps the most ancient mill system,how one immagines from the very beautiful pedestrian bridge of medieval origin,all made of stone which crosses the river and separates it still from the nearby village of Posara.On the property the water-level mark and the tracks of where the water used to run under the mill are still very visible. The complex included three adjacent mills,at present one af them has been restructured and changed into a two-floor habitation of about 500 mq.On the ground floor is a large kitchen with fire-place,living room,dining room and one bathroom and small gym. You can still find the ancient handmade stone presses now integrated in the furnishing and all of this really creates a very special place. From an internal stair one accesses the upper floor which also has its own separate entrance with five bedrooms each with private en-suite bathroom with shower or bath tube. The outside area is just in front of the river and is equipped with barbecue,sink,table and benches for eating. Behind the house is a swimming-pool, 12x5m, with deckchairs, sunbeds and changing room. The parking for 3 cars is shaded and has charging for electric cars. A large circular hearth with seating is ideal for staying around the fire for an aperitif or simply for gazing at the starry sky or warming up after a night swim in the pool. Immersed in the greenery with just the sound of the river, isolated,it is very cool in the summer period.”Ai Torchi Vecchi” is the ideal place for lovers of nature and tranquillity. Due to its geographical location it is also a good starting point for tourist itineraries in the nearby towns rich in history or in cities such as Pisa and Lucca, for days at the seaside in Versilia or in the Cinque Terre, for walks in the mountains along the paths of Apuan Alps. A trusted person is available on call to meet your needs during your stay and will keep the pool clean.

This was a very unique place to stay - the location is in a stunning wooded area next to the quaint town of Fivizzano. It was amazing how they built the home over an ancient olive oil mill too. The pool was so well maintained and a highlight for everyone. The owner and her manager, Karsten, were very responsive as well. We would recommend this amazing place to everyone.

Magnifique demeure
Nous avons trouvé que les photos du site ne sont pas à la hauteur de ce qu’est en réalité la maison. Elle est juste ma-gni-fique, intérieur et extérieur 😍 Nous avons passé 10 jours parfaits. Avec 7 adultes, 2 enfants et 4 chiens, personne ne s’est retrouvé à l’étroit.
Un endroit calme en pleine nature avec en bruit de fond la rivière. Trop top !
Et surtout un grand merci à Karsten pour sa disponibilité.

Big and spacious, there is room for everyone to find their own individual favorite spot and enjoy it all to themselves or with whomever they choose. I would stay here again just for the kitchen. It is amazing! But truth be told, we would stay here for a hundred other reasons as well. Number one would be the kitchen. Number two would be getting to sleep every night with the wonderful sounds of the stream just outside the window. Number three would be the church bells just across the stream in Posara. And then there's Enrica, the owner, who made it her personal business the make sure that we had everything we needed. She is a gem of a person. The swimming pool is perfection. The picnic tables, fire pits, the old stone bridge into town, everything is hundreds of years old and gorgeous! Best of all, this is outside of the range of most tourism and thus we get the real experience of living in Italy. We all LOVED it and recommend it wholeheartedly!

Unglaubliches Anwesen
Wir waren mit einer befreundeten Familie (8 Personen insgesamt) für eine Woche in der Mühle. Das Anwesen ist extrem groß, weitläufig und unglaublich schön. Der Garten ist parkähnlichen mit einem sehr großen Pool, vielen Bäumen für natürlichen Schatten, unterschiedlichen Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten ausgestattet. Es gibt viele verschiedenen Möglichkeiten sich zurückzuziehen und für sich alleine zu sein. Die Architektur der Mühle und die Innenausstattung sind ebenfalls extrem schön, weitläufig und super restauriert. Die Lage ist sehr abgeschieden und ideal, wenn man komplett für sich alleine sein möchte.
Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Wunderschöner Familienurlaub
Wir hatten eine tolle Urlaubswoche in der liebevoll restaurierten Mühle. Alles ist so, wie es in den Bilder und der Beschreibung dargestellt ist. Man hat auf dem großen Anwesen jede Menge Platz, viel Natur und einen tollen Pool. In der Kommunikation mit Karsten hat alles perfekt funktioniert. Vielen Dank für die erholsame Woche.

Wunderschön!
Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Mühle sehr genossen. Das Anwesen ist mit viel Liebe restauriert worden. Der Baumbestand ist als Schattenspender ideal im Sommer und macht die Hitze sehr erträglich.
Als Verbesserung schlagen wir eine stärkere Beleuchtung in der Küche und einen Gasgrill vor.
Ob am Pool, am Tischtennistisch, im Haus, am Bach - wir haben jede Minute sehr genossen und wären gerne länger geblieben.

Traumurlaub in traumhaftem Anwesen
Wir haben als Großfamilie (8 Personen von 10 bis 89 Jahre alt) unseren Sommerurlaub in diesem wunderschönen Anwesen verbracht. Von der Innenausstattung wie auch vom weitläufigen Grundstück mit all seinen Möglichkeiten zum Verweilen und Spielen waren wir begeistert.
Der Verwalter Herr Karsten Müller hat uns freundlich empfangen und uns zunächst durch diese beeindruckend umgebaute und wunderschön eingerichtete Ölmühle geführt - auch bei Fragen war er jederzeit telefonisch erreichbar.
Die ruhige Lage und der kleine Fluss trugen zur Entspannung bei. Der Ortskern von Fivizzano liegt nur 5 Autominuten entfernt und hat uns gut gefallen, da er nicht touristisch überlaufen ist. Es gibt einige nette Restaurants in der Umgebung und die Einheimischen waren überall äußerst freundlich.
Sehr schade, dass die zwei Wochen schon so schnell vorbei waren. Wir hoffen doch sehr, dass wir bald wieder die Gelegenheit haben werden dort Urlaub zu machen!

Traumhaft!!!
Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an in das Anwesen verliebt! Es war beeindruckend zu sehen, mit wieviel Liebe die alte Mühle zu neuem Leben erweckt wurde und dabei der Altbestand so wertschätzend mit integriert wurde. Es gibt unzählige Plätze, innerhalb und außerhalb des Hauses, die zum verweilen und staunen einladen.
Wir haben jede Minute sehr genossen und sind mit großer Wehmut abgereist. Herzlichen Dank auch an Karsten, der mit seiner hilfsbereiten und sympathischen Art, den Aufenthalt noch schöner gemacht hat.
Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Ruhige Lage am rauschenden Bach
Wir sind gerade von einem 10tägigen Familien-Urlaub aus Fivizzano zurückgekehrt. Die Fotos des Hauses entsprechen der Realität. Das Haus ist groß und weitläufig. Die Lage ist ruhig und ungestört. Der Außenbereich ist sehr groß. Der Pool ist schön groß und sonnig gelegen, endlich ein Pool in dem man ordentlich schwimmen kann. Herr Müller hat eine kurze Einführung ins Haus gegeben und war jederzeit telefonisch erreichbar. Sehr schön war, dass es genügend Handtücher, Geschirrtücher und Pooltücher gab. Geschirr, Gläser, Besteck etc. ist auch reichlich vorhanden. Es gab sogar Flüssigseife in den Bädern und Spülmittel. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen schönen Rotwein. Zum nächsten Ort, Fivizzano, sind es ca. 3 km, dort gibt es einen supermercato, diverse Restaurants und Bars. Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in der alten Ölmühle und können einen Aufenthalt dort empfehlen.

Tolles , ungewöhnliches Ambiente in herrliche Landchaft
Wir waren mit neun Freunden - alles Erwachsene in der 2. Septemberwoche in der wunderschönen Mühle, die in Wirklichkeit deutlich großzügiger ist als auf den Fotos zu sehen ist. Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig mit einem überdachten Lounge-Bereich und einem separaten Sportraum.
Toll war auch das großzügige Gelände direkt am Fluss mit Pool , Tischtennisplatte und Grillbereich. Perfekt übrigens auch für Familien mit Kindern. Sehr angenehm auch der Verwalter, der jederzeit für alles ansprechbar war und sich gekümmert hat. Ganz lieben Dank dafür. Zwei Kleinigkeiten möchten wir zur Vollständigkeit noch erwähnen: Aufgrund des dichten Baumbestandes und evtl. auch bedingt durch die Jahreszeit war es vormittags relativ kalt und feucht rund um das Haus, sodass ein Frühstück im Freien nicht möglich war. Und im Haus - vorallem in der Küche - war die Beleuchtung sehr dunkel.
Fazit: Wir haben uns in der Mühle alle sehr wohlgefühlt. Ein perfektes Ferienhaus für alle, die etwas Besonderes suchen.

Great place to stay when 3 generation are together
We had the pleasure to stay 8 nigths and had a wonderful time. No surprices and description on HomeAway nailed it. Carsten was a great help, always willing to help and answer questions. He arranged a winetasting at a local winery at Monastero Fratti Bianchi and it's something everyone should try - remember cash :). Also a great thanks to Marta who arranged a private chef one evening for a local 5 course dinner. Chef Cosimo and Irene did it great and something that could be recommended for others. We really enjoyed the house and it's locations.

Einfach wunderbar!
Wir haben uns von Anfang an in der wunderschön renovierten alten Ölmühle wohlgefühlt. Das sehr großzügige Grundstück ist umgeben von einer herrlichen Naturkulisse und liegt idyllisch an einem Bachlauf gelegen. Das alte Gebäude ist sehr geschmackvoll mit viel Liebe zum Detail umgebaut worden. Großes Lob an die Eigentümer! Es war alles vorhanden und der Verwalter Herr Karsten Müller war uns immer ein guter Ansprechpartner. Auch dass es extra Badetücher für den Pool gab, die sogar nach einer Woche ausgetauscht wurden, fanden wir wunderbar. Bei unseren Jungs war die Tischtennisplatte eine willkommene Abwechslung und durch die verschiedenen Sitzbereiche gab es auch genügend Rückzugsmöglichkeiten für diejenigen, die die Ruhe in Mitten der Natur genießen wollten.

Wunderschöne Tage in einem super Ambiente
Wir waren 8 Tage mit 10 Personen in der alten Mühle und wir alle sind der Meinung, dass die Bilder auf den Internetseiten genau das super Ambiente widerspiegeln, welches wir vor Ort vorgefunden haben. Einfach SCHÖN!
Es fehlte an Nichts (selbst Poolhandtücher gab es vor Ort) und der Verwalter, Herr Karsten Müller, gab uns gute Tipps und Informationen.
Die Restauration der Mühle ist mehr als gelungen. Im unteren Wohn- und Essbereich fühlt man sich stellenweise wie in einem Museum. Was man bitte nicht falsch verstehen sollte, da alles sehr praktisch und funktional ausgeführt ist.
Der obere Schlafbereich ist für ca. 10 Personen sehr großzügig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet.
Der Außenbereich lässt durch seine Weitläufigkeit, den Fluss, die schönen Terrassen und den großen Pool keine Wünsche offen.

Einzigartige Unterkunft!
Atemberaubende Unterkunft auf weitläufigem Grundstück. Hier wurde sehr viel Liebe ins Detail gesteckt, moderne Elemente hervorragend kombiniert mit einem authentischen historischen Flair. Das Urlaubshaus bietet zahlreiche Aktivitäten für Jung und Alt und ist hervorragend geeignet für größere Gruppen. Das Grundstück ist sehr privat gelegen und der Poolbereich bekommt über den Tag viel Sonne ab. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft ohne Bedenken sehr zu empfehlen und war für uns ein tolles Erlebnis.

Super séjour en famille
Quelle merveille! La rénovation de ce vieux moulin est sublime alliant contemporain et ancien , faite avec énormément de goût nous avons tous adoré.
Nous avons été accueillis avec une belle corbeille de fruits et du vin local.
Endroit idéal pour se ressourcer en famille près de la rivière et dans un immense parc.
Seul bémol 2 jours avec un problème d'eau chaude qui a été finalement résolu et un manque de luminosité dans l'espace cuisine ainsi qu'au dessus de la table repas extérieure.
Dommage que la piscine ne soit pas bâchée la température de l'eau était fraîche et notre semaine d'août caniculaire mais les enfants et les courageux ont pu en profiter.
Excellent séjour qui a ressources toute la famille .

Entspannte Tage am Pool
Das Anwesen entspricht der Beschreibung voll und ganz. Ausreichend Platz für 2 Familien. Unsere Woche war sehr heiß, so dass wir sehr viel Zeit am Pool verbracht haben. Ein oder zwei Sonnenschirme mehr wären bei dem großen Pool noch schöner gewesen. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig direkt an einem Fluss. Die Matratzen waren für unseren Geschmack etwas zu hart. In allen Zimmern waren Mückenstecker vorhanden. Der Ansprechpartner vor Ort war stets hilfsbereit. Alles in allem ein wunderschöner, erholsamer Aufenthalt.

Wunderbares Haus am Bach
Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der sehr geschmackvollen und großen alten Ölmühle sehr genossen. Die von uns gefürchtete Mückenplage wegen dem Fluss existierte nicht. Sehr schöner, sauberer und warmer Pool. Küche groß und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Schlafzimmer und Bäder qualitativ hochwertig und überhaupt nicht muffig. Auch die lfd. Betreuung durch Karsten war vorbildlich. Eine klare Empfehlung! Vielen Dank!

Cadre de rêve, très bien aménagé et spacieux
Nous étions 8 adultes et 1 enfant. Chacun a trouvé sa place et sa part d'intimité.
L'habitation est spacieuse et bien aménagée.
Le cadre est très agréable avec une grande piscine et la proximité d'un petit ruisseau.
Le service extérieur est discret mais disponible et efficace.
L'accès la première fois sera problématique si vous avez inscrit l'adresse officielle dans votre GPS, il vaut mieux se fier à l'information fournie par la villa.
Nombreuses possibilités de visite à proximité et dans un rayon de 250kms. Les petits restos sympa ne manquent pas.

Great house in a peaceful valley by the river!
We enjoyed a fun and relaxing week with the family in Ai Vecchi. The house was great with plenty of rooms for the family of ten. We mostly spent time around the pool area every day which was the perfect spot for reading as well as working on the tan. The house is situated separately with its own road to enter - so it gives a very peaceful and private time for the vacation. Kitchen area gave a good space to arrange lunch and dinner every day. However the placement of the kitchen is the only minus. The lower floor facing the river made it quite dark and due to the forrest, plenty of flies made its way into the kitchen space which was quite annoying. The surroundings are great too with vineyards, mountains and beautiful little villages. We loved the town of Fivizzano which offers great bakery, butcher, ice-cream and nice espresso!

Questa è una villa piena di carattere ed è veramente spaziosa, comoda e molto ben ammobiliata. La piscina e grande e ben mantenuta e il fiume rende tranquillità. Abbiamo passato una settimana molto piacevole. È veramente da raccomandare.

Une semaine au paradis!
Nous avons réservé cette grande maison pour y passer la moitié de la semaine avec des amis et l'autre moitié avec la famille. Le cadre est bucolique et la maison est immense et parfaite pour des grands groupes. Le lieu est super, entre la rivière et la campagne, avec une magnifique piscine. Nous etions à l'abris des regards et nous avons pu faire du bruit sans deranger personne tellement le domaine est grand! Les proprios supers sympas sont à disposition si besoin...

The standard of the interior works, in particular the delightful kitchen, and the furnishings is very high. The house is situated in a spacious estate with a very large pool. There are many very nice accommodations for sitting and relaxing. Cabins for changing give you the feeling of a beach resort. There is also a brook where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The point person, Mr. Carsten, was nice and very helpful. All in all, it was a beautiful stay.

"It was the best holidays of our life ! I think, to visit Ai Torchi Vecchi is the best way to feel Tuscany with its beautiful nature, hospitable people and amazing history. Ai Torchi Vecchi is a rerfect place for me. To have a glass of Brunello on the bank of your own mountain river among the whispering trees - it was fantastic.
P.S. I would recomend to rent a car for the guests of this apartment, because I think it is the easiest way to reach Fivizzano (with its shops and restaurants)and to travel in Tuscany."
