Close to the beach. Nice and clean. Relaxing atmosphere.
It was a little far from the town with restaurants but we didn’t mind walking.

The hotel is very nice. It was the largest room we encountered on our trip, with a large and modern bathroom. The room included part of a round, stone turret so it was more interesting than a square room. We did not use the pool or beach, but we could see the beach from our room. We did not eat breakfast here. It might be an excellent place to host a conference or family reunion.
We selected the hotel through Bookings.com from a map, and it was supposed to be in an area with beautiful beaches. I was surprised to drive through a vast area of abandoned mines and tailings less than an hour out of town, and then we drove past a very large power-generating facility. The area was quite industrial leading up to the town. It was about 2030 when we arrived in town, and when we found the hotel, we realized it was located away from the center of town in a quiet area. Before we checked in, we decided to go get an ice cream because it seemed like we'd have to drive to get something to eat. We drove to the waterfront and found that there were few restaurants and most were closed. We could not get an ice cream. It's a quiet town, and didn't seem to have many locals or tourists active in the evening. We would also have to drive everywhere. While we were happy to be done with the crowds in other places, we were not quite prepared for such a quiet place and had been enjoying walking around and eating in more lively places. We had reserved the room for 3 nights, and when I checked in, I told the receptionist that we only wanted to stay one night. He charged my card for 3 nights anyway, even though I was clear about staying only one night. When we checked out the next morning, we waited in the lobby to talk with the hotel manager about getting a refund for the 2 nights we did not stay. He walked right by us and into his office, and wouldn't talk to us. I was friendly and not angry; I wish he had been willing to at least talk with us. They never asked why we wanted to leave. Even though I've had several exchanges with the Bookings.com customer service people, I have not been refunded the money for the two nights we did not stay.

Staff, breakfast and location.
Mattress was uncomfortable, a lot of facilities wasn't free, like the use of iron, extra water!

Chek-in/-out proces was ok, service also, view was perfect and we gto actually better than we requested during booking proces, parking for free, accessible wifi, fresh juices, cafe and so on..
The hotel is somewhere in between 3 and 4*, bar open only up to 20.00, breakfast always the same, but eatable, scrambled eggs overcooked, a bit too expensive..

beautiful sea view from balcony, very nice and quiet garden with pool, enough places around the pool, sufficient breakfast, kind personal, safe in the room, good price, parking
limited opening hours for lunch in day bar, when you want to order something in day bar you have to use the phone – we did not know that, same breakfast every day, the beach close the hotel was overcrowded, restaurants quite far from the hotel

We stayed a week at Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli and everything was fantastic. The staff was extremely professional and friendly and attentive to our needs. Dario and Martina in the bar/restaurant were just incredible and Anna in the spa was excellent. Our large room faced the sea with an ample balcony and comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet is extensive…eggs, bacon, toast, local pastries, yogurt, tea, coffee, juices…and there is lunch service to the pool, and drink service to the pool all day. The desk clerks responded to all of our requests promptly. The pool area is beautiful and overlooks the sea, and the sandy public beach is about a 100m walk down the street and is in a lovely protected cove. There is a walking path close to the hotel for bikes and pedestrians that leads to a hilltop with some ruins. The hotel grounds are well kept with lots of grass areas for children and pets to run. September 1-8 was not crowded at all anywhere. We were able to book last minute boat tours and horseback riding and the weather was still perfect. The local communities are filled with delicious food and friendly people. Highly recommend!! We WILL come back! Ten out of ten for sure.
the AC is automatically turned off at night, so we had to ask to have it continued through the night because the summer was unusually hot

Amazing view. Sunset over sea visible from window and balcony. Ok breakfast but nothing to write home about. Excellent parking lot with shade to keep your car cool.
Barely functioning Wi-Fi, it would work for a few minutes at pre-ADSL speeds but would lose connection to the internet, giving you the impression that it was down more often than it was up. The staff had a not-my-problem attitude. When the internet failed in all of Portoscuso, including card payments and ATMs (not the hotel’s fault), they did not seem to want to explain the situation to us or help us find workarounds. We got the feeling that because of the language barrier, they avoided the discussion. There was a pool with basic bar service but you were lucky to catch a waiter, they stayed inside most of the time and whenever they passed around the pool area to pick up orders they walked incredibly fast and seemed to avoid eye contact. Incredibly overpriced laundry service, we ended up using the laundromat in town to wash all our clothes at the same price it would have cost to clean one pair of shorts at the hotel.

A very nice hotel at the beach! It has a very nice swimming pool as well that was our favorite 🤩
The bar from the swimming pool was serving some sandwiches which was a good thing for eating lunch by the pool (restaurant was not open during our stay).
The restaurant was not open during our stay.

No fruits and vegetables on breakfast. We have to pay for tomatoes.

The location is perfect and the premises are great. The staff is friendly and efficient. The hotel is clean and comfortable.
The hotel is lacking a welcoming atmosphere. In the room there is no bottle of water and a small welcome from the management. At breakfast, the orders of coffee and eggs are not included in the price, and guests are queueing at the coffee machine... it would be much nicer to have a friendly waitress/waiter bringing orders, this would help creating a guest-friendly atmosphere... and the coffee would be of better quality! There is no bar service at the pool. This would also create a better atmosphere.

Due to an emergency we had a late booking at the hotel. The hotel could not honor our booking and moved us to another room. We had to wait late at night with two kids for 1,5 hours while they prepared the room. After getting the room it turns out the jacuzzi/shower was leaking, flooding the bathroom. 6 hours sleep and no shower for 330 EUR. The hotel refused any discount.

Great location to explore south west of Sardinia. A beautiful beach 5min walk away. Portoscuso has several nice restaurants for eating. The pool was great and much loved by our 4 year old toddler. The staff was super friendly and welcoming.
Wi-fi connection was unreliable. More pillows for the bed.

Very nice hotel! Wonderful location in a small and nice city. Everything was nice and clean including the pool and the pool area. Personel is very friendly and serviceminded.
The bed is hard as a stone.
Typical Italian - lots of cookies. Only egg & bacon some days.

The history of the building, the updated facilities too. The pool was excellent. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful.

Stunning sea view and also to the Carloforte island. Clean rooms with balcony. Possibility to bring the breakfast to the room so that one can benefit even more from the beautiful scenery. Closed parking area with covered places.
Tedious wifi with lots of interruptions. Not so stylish and gloomy dinning room.
