Home sleeps up to 6 guests. The best of past and present are combined in this historic Victorian cottage in downtown Pacific Grove, within easy walking distance of the beach as well as dining, shopping and the local movie theater. Or you may just want to relax and enjoy views of the bay from the cozy living room, decorated to reflect the coastal environment. The blue and white 3-bedroom, 2-bath residence, built in 1905, has been updated to offer modern conveniences while still embracing its vintage roots. The pet-friendly home also has a back patio that is fenced for privacy, a perfect place to enjoy a backyard barbecue or a glass of wine in the evenings. The home is within walking distance of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, and just a few blocks from the Monterey Bay Recreation Trail, a popular place for cycling and walking. Also close by are the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach®. Other attractions within a 30-45 minute drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village. Hardwood floors and recessed lighting can be found throughout the 1,092-square-foot home, with walls painted in a soft shade of tan and complementary décor in blues, whites and taupe for a soothing ambiance. The fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a dining area that seats six. A convenient master bedroom on the first floor has an HDTV and an en suite bath. Living Spaces Guests enter the home via a short flight of stairs to the porch, where the red front door opens into the entryway and living room. Views of the Monterey Bay can be glimpsed from the living room, which features a 48-inch HDTV, roman shades and cozy seating. Kitchen and Dining The adjacent kitchen features granite countertops, vintage-look cabinetry and stainless steel appliances, including a four-burner gas stove. A gooseneck kitchen faucet and double sink make cleanups a snap. A dining area at the end of the kitchen looks out over rooftops of other historic buildings in the downtown area. The back door leads to an outdoor patio area decorated with string lights and succulents, offering patio seating and a gourmet gas grill. Bedrooms and Bathrooms Downstairs, Bedroom #1 offers a queen bed, TV, direct access to the back patio and an updated en suite bathroom with a shower. Also downstairs, a sleek hallway bathroom with a pocket door features hexagonal tile floors, a corner shower with custom tile, and a glass basin sink. Upstairs, Bedroom #2 features a queen bed and built-in storage. Bedroom #3 has a king bed and a peek of the bay. Please note that both bathrooms are downstairs. A laundry closet near the living spaces offers a stacked washer and dryer. Parking is available on the street. One well-behaved dog under 30 lbs is welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum. Beautiful property in perfect location. We had a great stay! Beds were comfy, linens were high quality, and all amenities were thought of. The only suggestions I have are as follows: The upstairs rooms need mirrors (since all bathrooms are downstairs, a mirror upstairs would be super helpful), also, a coat rack or some hooks near the front door would be great (for coats, dog leash, purses, etc). Otherwise, everything was perfect!

We loved the house! It was very nice, clean & conveniently located. The location was great. Restaurants only a block away, we loved the Victorian restaurant for breakfast! The kitchen was well stocked. We ate out mostly but did eat breakfast there. Would have liked a regular toaster, the toaster oven didn’t work very good. Would definitely stay again. We have 2 golden retrievers & it was nice to have a backyard & walking to the Lover’s Point Park was so nice. Great ocean front!

Family of 5 adults stayed there for my sons wedding in Carmel. It was an easy location to wherever we needed to go. I was up early every morning walking the path along the ocean. Great coffee, lunch and dinner right around the corner. Home was immaculate and had everything we needed. Parking was easy in front of the house. I would definitely stay here again.

The house is a dream! Clean and well-decorated. Because of great cable access, we were able to watch some of our favorite shows together. The kitchen was amazingly well-equipped so we were able to cook several times together as a family. The location was perfect being close enough to walk to several restaurants and a supermarket. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this home again in the future.

My family had a great stay at the seagull house.
The house is very cozy and has a nice ocean view. The kitchen is well appointed and we had no trouble finding everything we needed to cook during our stay. The upstairs bedrooms get a little warm during the day but opening the windows cools it right off! The only small incident we had during our stay was the fire alarm was beeping and in need of a new battery. It was a simple fix and the management company was very quick to reply to my messages. Really not a big deal but worth mentioning because they were really responsive.
The house is in a great (and very walkable!) location. We saw deer in the morning multiple times (a big hit for our 6 yr old) and did a lot of exploring in the neighborhood. The restaurants nearby are quite good too.
This house is definitely a solid choice if you’re headed to the Pacific Grove/Monterey/Carmel area.

The cottage was more conveniently located than we anticipated. We could walk to the beach in 4 minutes and to fabulous restaurants and shops in 2! We especially enjoyed the numerous antique shops and boutiques close by. We didn't need to purchase anything extra. The kitchen and bathrooms provided everything we needed for our stay including coffee filters, baggies, soap and shampoo etc. The part of our trip that struck me the most was the genuine kindness of the people in Pacific Grove. Whether it was the staff calling to check on our stay, a waitress, a shop owner, or someone on the street asking if we needed directions. Everyone was friendly, generous, and considerate. We appreciated the luxury linens, towels, and comfortable beds. We will definitely be back.

My daughters, their partners and I stayed in this quaint home for my daughter's wedding in Monterey. The home was clean, well equipped with an ocean view. The location was great for walking to Lover's Point as well as good local restaurants. We were just a 2 minute drive from Cannery Row as well. The property management company was very responsive with any questions or requests. We would definitely stay here again!

Walking distance to downtown PG and Ocean View Blvd. The property was furnished well and was clean & comfortable.Would have liked a clothes hanger to air dry clothes, and a coat rack at the entrance. These were two (small) things that made the stay a little impractical.The upstairs rooms were not as renovated as the downstairs portion of the house.

Awesome Location
Overall, great place. Close enough to Lovers Point where you can walk. Minute drive to the Aquarium. Quick drive to Fisherman’s Wharf.
Only critiques, and a small one, are both bathrooms are on the main floor and kind of creaky when walking.
Would definitely return.

Our arrival was off to a rough start as we weren't able to access our keys. We arrived just after 5pm which made it "after hours" and the lockbox code they gave us did not work. We had just driven 3 hours with a 1-year old baby so this was quite an inconvenience. Thankfully, within 20 minutes we had the code we needed by calling the after-hours phone number. They have a call center who then contacts the person who will get back to you so it took a bit to get in. They sent someone the next day to update the lockbox code so we could use that code to put the keys in the box safely. We were missing hand towels in the guest bathroom upon arriving and the cleaning staff left out some cleaning products but this wasn't a big deal so we made due. The house is very creaky as it is a very old home. Trying to tiptoe around to not wake up the baby was difficult. The stairs and the second story has very creaky floors. Plus both bathrooms are downstairs so those upstairs have to go downstairs every time to use the bathroom overnight. It is renovated beautifully though. It feels very updated inside. The living room was much smaller than we expected but it worked okay. The floorplan makes the livingroom too small to hang out with your group. We ended up hanging out at the kitchen table the most. The backyard is lovely but always pretty chilly. Even in July the weather was cold so we weren't in the backyard much. I will say that the location is great, there are nice restaurants and beach in walking distance. The neighborhood is great. On the day we checked out the entire city had a power outage so we lost all electricity and there was a loud beeping noise coming from an adjacent building that started at about 4am. Needless to say, we had a rough check out as well. This of course was no fault to the property management. The last complaint I have would be that the outside trash can was full when we arrived for our 4-night stay so we called to have it cleared.

This house has been renovated with a balance of elegance and coastal vibes. Very nicely done. Be aware there is no bathroom upstairs and the stairs are narrow. The two bathrooms are small but none of these things would deter me from staying there again. Comfortable beds. There was a bottle of local wine and snacks waiting for us with a welcome note. Ocean views from the front porch where we put a couple of chairs and talked to the people walking by. Very friendly neighborhood and area! There was a fair going on a few blocks away and yet we could barely hear the music when outside and couldn't hear it at all inside. It was nice to see parents walking their kids to and from school with the family dog and coffee in hand yet we didn't encounter school related traffic in our daily outings. Very good restaurants in town with the freshest food! Family friendly, dog friendly, walkable (although hilly) small town. Loved seeing the sailboats on the water while sitting on the porch. It made me want to live there and I mean that sincerely. Nearby, we went to a beach to watch the sunset and collect shells and there was a sea otter and three sea lions hanging out and bobbing up and down just off shore. So cool. Carmel and Pebble Beach are an easy 15 minute drive where we spent one day. That whole area is beautiful. When I booked this house, I entered the wrong check out date, Thankfully, there was no one booked right away and they let us stay the additional night at the nightly rate. The woman I talked to didn't make me feel stupid and she wasn't rude or condescending. (I knew the day we were checking out but entered the wrong date) No extra fee for not catching the wrong date in all the correspondence. :)

Perfect home base for trip!
Great little property and very comfortable in every way! It was clean and well stocked with everything our family needed. We loved that it is walking distance to parks, restaurants, beach, etc. We thought Pacific Grove was well-positioned in the area to hit Carmel, 17 mile beaches, Monterey, etc. Plus it’s quieter and less hectic than some of the surrounding communities.
