Super good location, just 10minutes walk to the Heseadra. Konbini nearby if you need it. Rooms were comfortable enough. Near the beach as well
Saw this in other reviews too, but if youre booking this place. Don't expect the staff to be there when you checkin. Staff was unresponsive when I reached at 9am, even though I had requested for staff to be present at that time way before I came. Luckily there was another guest checking in and waiting in the waiting room, and she told me she was leaving her bags there while she explores Kamakura. I left the host a message and did the same. The good thing was that the staff who eventually came (while I was away) shifted my luggage up to my room - grateful for that as the stairs are steep and dangerous for bringing up heavy luggage. And check in instructions were sent via message on booking.com. It was all in Japanese though, and google translate was not super accurate. Luckily I could read some Japanese. According to their message, turns out the host could only be on-site for an hour that day (3-4pm). Other than that, expect the rest of your stay to see no staff. There was no towel provided, and I didn't have one with me. So I wanted to rent one from them, but you could only do that if there was staff present. And clearly there wasn't. So that was some inconvenience to me.
Insufficient toilets in my opinion. Enough showers though.
Main door was always open (due to no staff situation) so anyone could come in, so only book if you're comfortable with that.

Simple and very affordable rooms at a great location! Close to the train station, sightseeing spots and the beach.
The communication before arriving did not quite feel as welcoming and comprehensive as with many other accommodations in Japan. Also, most of the time, there is no staff present at the guesthouse.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location was very nearby the train station and the staff was very friendly to help us out always. The check in and check out procedure was very simple and fast. Slept well too!

The space was very nice. I like the decor and colours and the space was quiet and the neighbourhood easy to walk. There were convenience stores near by and many things to see on either side of the accommodation.
Kida greeted us on our early arrival (noon) and checked us in. I asked (with some of his English and Google translate) about some activities we wanted to do during our time in Kamakura and he went out of his way to help. He spent about 20 minutes searching things on the web (that I’d been unable to navigate as the sites were in Japanese and I couldn’t figure out how to translate it on my phone). We were able to do some calligraphy and spent time at the beach and went to some great shops and restaurants. Thanks to Kida for pointing us in the right direction and making some recommendations. It was an amazing trip because of your help.
I wasn’t expecting breakfast (despite being listed as a B&B but there was no breakfast (the feedback questionnaire asked how the breakfast was, so I’m answering).
There was some visible mould in the caulking of the sinks and our common space ran out of paper towels for drying hands after using the toilet despite having a full container to start the night (so clearly there were a lot of people using the toilet or someone needed a bunch!); but no spare supplies so we were left without for the remainder of the stay (our checkout was the next day).

- Decent location on Yuigahama-dori. Minutes walk to the Enoden line station.
- Reasonable middle-tier niche pricing. Kamakura has a number of luxury resorts and cheap dorm style hostels, but unfortunately lacks middle-tier “business” hotels.
- Flaked on check-in. I was due to arrive at Kamakura in the evening. At first, they messaged that it’s after hours so I will have to do self-check-in. Then they followed up saying that staff will be present until 22:00. I arrived at 20:30, but nobody was present.
- To make matters worse, I had no room # or key. I called the listed phone number and spoken to a Japanese staff worker with poor English abilities. He said to receive a key, I have to fill out a form and email a pic of my passport. They should have informed me if this requirement way in advance, not at the last minute when I’m in limbo waiting in the break room.
- I stayed for 1 week. After 4 days, I asked for a change of face and body towel. They said they charge for a towel change, which seems absurd. Even more absurd is that they claimed that they typically don’t include towels with room & board, but gifted it to me since I’m staying one week. What lodging doesn’t include towels for guests?? I messaged that I will mention this in my review, and their tone shifted to hostility.
- The bed sheets are a dark brown color, which I believe to be a conscious effort to disguise filth. I found long female hairs on my sheets three times.
- The bed “mattress” was a thin foam providing little cushion for my body against the wooden frame. Because there were 2 beds, I stacked up both to provide tolerable support.
- Room tatami was plastic and also dark brown in color. It’s hygiene while barefoot is questionable.
- Room window faces Yuigahama-dori, which is a major Kamakura street. If sensitive to noise, definitely bring earplugs. Light blocking curtain wasn’t bad though.
- My final day I checked out of my room early in the morning and left my bags in the break room. I later got a message inquiring whether the bags were mine. Strange as I already gave them a heads up that I would leave my bags, and have seen other guests do the same thing.

It was very clean, and the the staff was very friendly and responsive to all the questions I had. The location was very good, close to the bus stop and close enough to walk to kamakura station.
I didn't like the black covering on the bed. It was hard to tell if it was clean or not. Towels provided were not moisture absorbing. I wished there were trash basket in the room.
