Antler Ridge Ridge House
About this cabin rental
The Ridgehouse is a 3,200 square foot custom home built in 2009 and is perfect for a family getaway. You'll feel like you're in an eagle's nest with spectacular views of the Greer Valley and all of the wildlife the area has to offer. Imagine drinking your morning coffee watching a herd of elk or deer making their way across the Valley or pouring your favorite beverage under the Moonlight with views of the galaxy from 8,500 ft. elevation. Truly spectacular views day or night! This property comfortably sleeps 15 people, 2 to a bed, not including the sectional with sleeper sofa, lounger, and a couch that could sleep another 4 people if necessary. The master has a king bed, a sliding glass door opening to a private deck to take in the view, and a bathroom with an oversized shower and a large walk-in closet. The kid's bedroom (bunk beds + full-sized bed) and an additional bedroom (queen bed) are located upstairs. The downstairs has two bedrooms, 1 king size bed and a 2nd with 2 double beds, and a shared full bath. All bath, bed, and kitchen linens, bath soap, kitchen soap, dishwasher, and laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, salt & pepper, coffee filters, and trash liners are provided. There is no shortage of entertainment areas in this home. The dining area is well-equipped with gourmet GE Profile appliances and many small appliances including fondue, blender, crockpot, toaster oven, and 2 coffee makers. The kitchen, dining, and living room all overlook the panoramic Valley views. The patio includes a large patio table and grill for those that would like to dine al fresco. Downstairs you'll find a large rec room that has a bar, gas fireplace, billiards, and foosball table. Ridgehouse is stocked with board games, DVDs, and activities for the kids! We hope you don't have to work while in Greer but if you're wondering about WIFI, it works well for video calls, etc. Stable connection and DISH TV throughout the property. The cabins are just a short walking distance to restaurants such as Molly Butler's, Rendezvous Diner, and Coffee Cure. You'll find miles of hiking trails in the National Forest, the Greer Lakes, or the Little Colorado River to stretch your legs. Just 20 minutes from Sunrise Ski Resort! During the winter months when there is snow and ice, 4-wheel drive and chains may likely be required to access the garage and adjacent parking for the Ridge House. Parking below next to the other cabins is recommended since the driveway is steep. There are alternative parking areas. There are stone stairs leading to the front of the home that provides direct access from the flat surface parking should you prefer not to drive up the steep driveway. Ridgehouse management will keep the driveway plowed and as clear as possible during winter months but it is not responsible for damage to your vehicle should you use it during these conditions. The cabin was nice and had plenty of room for us but there was items that could be addressed. For example the dish washer ran but would not clean the dishes properly, the gas burners on the stove didn’t work properly, the bed felt worn out and would dip in the middle or the frames were loose, it felt like the hvac system would keep the cabin evenly to temp. Trash was an issue, we were told to put it outside and maintenance would stop by to pick it up but they didn’t and animals got into it. I feel a disclaimer for the cabin is that it is on top of a hill and four wheel drive may be required depending on the season.

Ridge House was a great space for our family gathering. Loved the layout of the house. Great views, kitchen layout very accommodating for large group and downstairs game room a plus. Location was walkable to all Greer Village offerings and near hiking trails.

Our first impression was not good. Upon arriving we could not check in due to issues with the entrance to cabin. We were given instructions to take a back route because access to house was not available. We drove through the back way (which also needed work). When we arrived there was parking for one car and a steep climb of many stairs up to the house. We returned to the Butler check-in office. They informed us to wait 30 more minutes to get clearance on the other access road which was recently worked on. After waiting to get in , we finally were able to access the cabin. We unloaded all of our food and luggage. This was not an easy thing to do with all of the stairs we had to climb to access the bedrooms and kitchen. We also had 11 guests and four cars. When figuring out the parking we found that one of the parking bays was filled with contractors equipment. Plus the workers did not take their trash with them, it was left in the garage. (Trash can was full). Another issue was the towel situation. When everyone was showering I realized that there were not enough towels in the bathrooms or linen closet. I had to wash all used towels and hand out rinsed towels to guests that did not have a towel (rinsed because there was no detergent in the laundry room). The next day after 9 am, I was able to call Butler Rentals for clean towels and laundry detergent. In the kitchen the dishwasher did not work properly and the refrigerator does not seal as it should. We had issues closing it. I slept in the master bedroom. The bedding had holes in the blankets and I required a boost from someone to get in bed because it was so high. If this were my property, I would replace the refrigerator and dishwasher. I would add a dumb waiter to lift groceries and luggage from the garage to the kitchen and replace the mattresses and bedding. Also since the property sleeps 17, there should be enough extra linen, towels and detergent supplies in the laundry room. Also on the listing it should state that the cabin is not accessible to people with disabilities. In conclusion we felt that the accommodations did not equal the rental cost. The cabin was not ready for guests. A portion of the rental costs should be reimbursed.

We booked this location due to the fact it stated it had cable and WiFi. When we arrived the cable would not work and we were informed that the new owners no longer provided cable and we would have to screen share from our own device. Then we couldn’t connect to the WiFi because the password that was provided and in the cabin was not correct. We called the office and no response with the new password. Overall made for an unenjoyable trip. Was not worth the price!! I wouldn’t rebook again!

Beautiful home! Easy to deal with management and they didn’t have a rules list 10 miles long like so many places do. It was nice to actually relax and not worry about a ton of ridiculous stuff. Lots of stuff to do around here too. I’ve never been to Greer prior, but it was beautiful.

Great place
House was really nice with a great view. The game room was nice since it rained and snowed during most of our stay. Also plenty of rooms for a big family like ours. Suggestion don't park at the top of the hill if you're expecting snow that night and have to leave the next morning unless you have chains. driveway is pretty intimidating when it's icy! LOL! Overall Great Place!

We had a great time
We loved Ridge House! There were 14 of us and we all slept comfortably in beds. The huge cabin is decorated beautifully, has a pool table and a game table. Tons of other board games in a huge cabinet, books to read..The kitchen has everything you could ever need to cook. The grounds are beautiful also. You can go sliding, we built snowmen, etc. We'd love to go back. The only thing, read the fine print: there are to access roads to the cabin, both hills, one steeper than the other. You CANNOT get up the steeper one without 4 wheel drive, and the other hill, well it had snowed on the weekend, and it had been plowed, but was all ice, so after many many tries, only our truck could make it up. The two other cars had to stay down in a parking lot. So then, as it says, there are stairs, many stairs to get up to the cabin....so we had to carry all of our groceries, suitcases, and ski equipment from the cars down the hill and our truck up the stairs, to the cabin. All I can say is that it was great teamwork, and we all got over it after seeing the cabin. I can say that communication with Cabin Butler was way under par. Their emergency number we called that night to find a solution to access the cabin was answered by a very crabby guy who said he was the maintenance man who gave us the number of a tow truck.. The internet stared to fail that evening g and morning, so after 9 am, their office hours, I called again, and again I was greeted by a much nicer man, but it was an answering service, he noted our complaint about the road and internet and said Cabin Butler would get back to us by the end of the day. They never did, but the shorter hill was plowed, internet the same. All in all we just loved the place, very close to Sunrise Ski area, and lots to do inside the cabin too. We'd go back, but Cabin Butler needs to get their communication going a little better.

We enjoyed this place. Lots of room for our family. View of area is breathtaking. The road up to house was a little intimidating but we got all vehicles up the hill. Very nice set up in house. Great for family time!

Comfortable for our group of nine. Adequately equipped except for spoons and lighting could be improved throughout the house. Wifi is slow and the router had to be reset a few times. These are minor points. Overall our stay was very good. Enjoyed hiking in the area.

Everything you need for an outstanding mountain retreat!
Our experience in this home was outstanding - the layout is wonderful with plenty of room to meet everyone's needs. GREAT beds to sleep on and everyone enjoyed the game room downstairs. We loved cooking and baking in the kitchen - has everything that you need! The pond near the property is perfect for fishing and the views go on for days. It is also in walking distance to play structures for kids and Molly Butler for dinner. The only down sides were getting stuck in the driveway (and there was no snow or ice - just too wet and the ground was too moist) and needing to be towed out (need to get a paved driveway for sure) - and the house needs a really good, deep cleaning. Lots of dusty fixtures and the floors need to really be cleaned - just the results of mountain living but under the beds/furniture needs cleaning too (trash was found under the king bed downstairs). Oh - the couch in the living room (off the kitchen) is really falling apart. Most of the adults could not sit on it without hurting their backs - needs to be replaced. Traci and Laith are the BEST and I really enjoyed getting to know them. Thanks for a wonderful time! Hope to see you on the mountain again in the near future.
