A simple yet authentic stay, great to experience the real Kuala Lumpur.

The owner, Kennie, was very friendly and welcoming. This is an authentic place to stay, away from the huge skyscrapers and fancy hotels. Simple room and facilities, but everything you need. Half hour walk to the main sights, but the place is close to the metro, so everything is easily accessible.

The price. But then you get what you pay for. That's all I have to say.

The owner can be quite overbearing. I think he means well, but he was a bit "too much" sometimes.

Not really suitable for family trip especially with kids. The homestay is share toilet.

Pressure applied to guilt into giving good review for undeserving place.

Annoying man, won't stop talking & selling himself...speaks nonsense, hears nothing. Ugly little rooms, gross little shower, in ugly family flat, in noisy slum. 'Cousins' making racket in next room till 2am. No signs, not even an address, despite being up 2 storeys. Towel not washed. Elaborate multi-key ritual just to get in & out. AC lip broken, blasted direct onto bed, wouldn't let me tape it up. Either no window or just a covering without a real window. Refused to help with a double-booking mistake, told some lie to cover for just wanting his money, and only pretending (very hard) to care about his customers. According to him, changing rooms long after it was already agreed was some enormous act of generosity from him. Even got a 'free chair' in my room! Confucius say 'people who gave good reviews must have felt pressured, or have rocks in heads.' In this case, the pressure was definitely applied. Much rather a nice place than the fake 'i'm your bro, give me good rating, even though it was no good' act. Best that people know what they are really getting.

Cheap but very basic

It's a roof over your head for a night and doesn't cost too much.

Check in / unlocking the front door is very long a d complicated. Rooms and showers very basic. my room didn't have a window.

Exceptional

Kenny was a wonderful host and gave us many great recommendations. He was also very accommodating with the check in and check out times and ready to help us if we needed anything. The location is great as it’s close to public transportation options and there are plenty of good and affordable restaurants in the area. The wifi worked very well, we both work online and had no problems with the connection at all.

Disappointing

the owner was very helpful and friendly

The facilities were really shabby, much more than photos show. The kitchen and bathroom needed cleaning. The area had good restaurants, but on one of the days we were there the building next door was throwing furniture and glass out of their third floor window for hours. This obviously has nothing to do with the guesthouse, but made staying there feel unsafe and extremely loud. The street behind the building also had the most rats I’ve ever seen. We ended up leaving early.

Good accommodation in Chinatown

Kenny is an angel sent to make you smile. Before arrival he sent me several restaurants where we could go eating and some of the popular destinations in KL. You can ask him everything you want and he'll help you. The rooms are simple but good. There is a kitchen which can be used and two bathrooms. You also can wash your clothes here for only 5 MYR.

You must be aware that the accommodation is located in one of the two chinatowns (not the tourist one) which makes the surroundings quiet different from the rest of KL. When you want a calm environment you better should think twice.

owner was too insecure and pushing you too the limit..

Nothing special about it..

It doesn't seemed like how it advertised where it showed nice pictures but in reality it was terrible experience. Location is so crowded, literally no parking. Got room with no window, smelly bed & towel. Property owner is too pushing and trying hard disturbing the peace & trip and explaining everything like I just arrived to this planet earth. Got lucky received duty call from IPD for a special case so I end up didn't stay there and check out 4 hours after checking in..

Budget accommodation at a good price

Location with lots of good food stalls nearby, air con in the room was good.

No window, no cutlery or crockery, kitchen wasn't functional, room door didn't lock- but was fixed

if you are looking for an affordable and convenient location in the city, then ‘Coffee and Tea Homestay’ is a good place

very convenient. Host is very helpful and friendly.

Our room had no window, but their AC worked fine.

The host was little bit rude in the beginning, the street where the place is located is noisy in the evening.

Cheap, pretty warn up, friendly with a weird twist

I picked this place because it allowed late arrival. Owner seemed very friendly and eager to recomend places to eat, etc. Family room was spaciuos. There was a kitchen and rest area I could use. Besides bed sheets everything was clean. Pudu area is very calm at night, busy with life and food at daytime, walkable from center, if you don`t mind walking in abandoned streets with some rats.

Last night owner wrote me a message with an offer "im single, lonely man. im quite free, i can acompany you to go anyway.. i can be your driver to any place in kL.. ". That`s most probably inappropriate... The bed sheets seemed not washed. Shared shower one of those in toilet. They allow smoking in a room. Hard to find, no logo on the door, but comunication was fast. Complicated lock of general door.

Certainly fits some budgets and travellers.

Very nice host, doing his best to accomodate you. Washing machine and kitchen available.

The room was quite small. Beds not very comfy (small mattress on springs). Not much space to organise luggage. The window has no window... so you can very much hear the outside. I was there with children, but we did not like the area. (Chinese area, a lot of food stands with what comes along at night.... maybe too much of a change for us).

Good value

The room is big so you have space for your stuff or even exercise! It is good value for KL. Kenny offers some tours around town at night that sound fun. I did not do it cause I really needed to be careful with money but you have that option which is nice. The shower and toilet were clean and never had to wait to use them. Wifi was good. AC works. Bed was comfortable.

The area can feel a bit creepy at first but once you know it you get use to it. It is not far from the sightseeing as Kuala Lumpur is way smaller that it looks which is good. So you can use the metro or grab for few RM. If you look for a cosy and romantic area then look around KLCC park. If you are into backpacking but without a lot of backpackers around this is the place you are looking for.
