It is very good if you plan to explore Abel Tasman National Park. Great location. Amazing staff, let us all details written on the paper as we checked in late. There were enough space and facilities in the room that we could prepare for the trip. Really affordable.
I don't like the idea of paying for hot water in the shower even if I understand that and it wasn't expensive.

excellent location close to the National Park, very good value for money, great showers but be aware that you need $1 coins to use it for 4 minutes.

Stunningly clean and well equipped with everything that we needed to prepare meals in our cabin. Attentive to details like providing a clothesline and pegs. Great playground and very friendly feel.
Leaving! We could have stayed much longer.

Good facilities in the dorm
Staff didn't seem to know what's happening. Spoke with 3 different and got 3 different information. Beds were meant to be assigned during check in but we weren't assigned any and told to pick whichever we wanted. Guests who checked in after us realized that we were on their beds and afterwards, we were made to feel like we went against their instructions even though we weren't assigned any beds during check in.

I had the place to myself so it was wonderful.
Staff at reception were very helpful and accommodating. The hiking at Abel Tasman was wonderful.
If the other rooms were booked it would not have been as comfortable as a solo traveler since you would have to walk through hostel like room areas to go to the bathroom and common areas.

The location was perfect: right at the beach and close to the entrance of the park.
There is a supermarket next door, which in winter is the only source of food.
We saw a beautiful night sky!

Fantastic backpackers, had everything you needed plus more. Very comfortable. Was great having the heaters in winter.

Enjoyed the amenities ( kitchen ) of the little cabin. Also cleanliness & comfort there.
Communal amenities nice & clean too.

Room with kitchenette was great to have, beds with linen and duvet was comfy, cabin, toilets shower and kitchen were always kept clean, awesome BBQ area, Brad and his wife are such lovely people, thoroughly enjoyed my stay

Great Location. lovely staff. Basic Accomodation in a family cabin that was good for a base for Abel Tasman

Stayed in 5 dorm bedroom. All good, clean.
Tip: reception is the grocery store/information center on the corner of the street.
That I had to ask other people where the reception is. A small paper on the backpackers door can help future guests.
No power plugs in the room besides next to someones matress
Food needs to be labeled, but there were no labels

Owner was super helpful when I fell over trail running. Great location for a beautiful sunrise and walking distance to amazing beaches.
