Enjoy home away from home at the top of VT...Get away to the Jay Way Chalet!
About this chalet rental
Nestled in Jay, this attractive chalet for $519 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Please feel free to inquire about additional guests and pets! Enjoy your Vermont getaway at one of the original "Matterhorn Village" chalets! Take advantage of both traditional charm and modern updates located two minutes from Boutin's Mini Market (best beer and pizza in the area), five minutes from the Jay Country Store/Base Camp and Jay Village Inn, and a ten minute drive from the Stateside Base area parking lot. Enjoy all of this from your main (paved!) road location in Jay, providing easy in and out access to the property. The Jay Way Chalet is spread over 2200 square feet of living space on two levels that can comfortably accommodate 11 individuals. A large entry way provides plenty of storage for boots, skis, bags, and coats; drop your belongings, and get settled in! Cozy up in the living room next to the pellet stove after a long day of skiing, or - for those with extra energy - launch into a competitive game of Foosball (Tornado Table), or Pop-a-Shot basketball, or test your mixologist skills at the wet bar. With two separate living areas, both equipped with large TVs (both with XFinity Cable), kids and adults alike can find a space to relax and unwind. For those who don't ski, or are skiied out, the nook upstairs also allows for catching the best of the day's rays. If you do find yourself having to catch up with the real world - high speed Comcast, a dedicated land line, 24" monitor, and wireless keyboard and mouse hookups allow you to drop your laptop and get some work done (sometimes a necessary evil!) While we highly recommend an evening out at Base Camp or the Jay Village Inn, or picking up pizza and a growler from Boutin's, you also have the option to take advantage of a well-equipped kitchen to make a meal (or at the very least, prep your lunch or coffee before a day on the slopes). Features include new appliances in 2019, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, hand mixer, and all pots, pans, and utensils necessary to make a meal; in addition to basic condiments. Four bedrooms, and three bathrooms (two renovated in 2019) allow for plenty of space for relaxation and rejuvenation. All bedrooms have ample storage space, memory foam or pillow top mattresses, plenty of spare linens and blankets, and space heaters and fans for added comfort during your stay. Both queen bedrooms also feature televisions that are smart enabled (please just remember to log out of your accounts before you check out). Bathrooms are equipped with plush towels and heated vents to encourage lingering in the steam!

House is situated in a great location, close to the mountain to ski, go to the water park, skating, etc.
House is clean and plenty of room for our group of 10! Owners are very attentive.

Our group went up for a ski week at Jay Peak. Although we did not have the snow we had hoped for, our stay at the Jay Way Chalet was perfect! Our hosts Liz and Ryan were super hospitable, easy to communicate with and the place was amazing!

A very communicative pair of hosts with a lovely home! And with such close proximity to the mountain, it’s a no brainer that we will be staying here again in the future!

We loved our trip to Jay and had such a fun time at the Jay Way Chalet! There were fun activities like the foosball table, Pop a shot game and fun board games. The house is lovely and fit our group of 10 perfectly. It was a quick drive to Jay Peak Resort and Liz and Ryan were such easy and kind hosts to reach out to. We can’t wait for our next stay at their beautiful and cozy home!

First off, the communication with the owners was great. Leading up to the weekend, we were exchanging messages about the weather and all doing a collective snow dance to ensure maximum fun on the mountain. The driveway was plowed when we arrived and the house entry instructions were very easy to follow.
We were blown away by how cozy and functional this house was. There was a ton of space and a great kitchen for cooking our meals. Both the game room and the main living room were perfect for gathering together and playing games, with the pellet stove keeping us warm and comfortable in the living room area. There were convenient sources of heat in different rooms and all of the beds were very comfortable.
The property is so well-suited for families, groups of friends, and dogs. We had 2 with us and they had an absolute blast, especially running around in the snow in the yard.
The location is excellent; in nicer weather you could pretty easily walk to a sandwich/pizza shop and you could do the same with the Jay Country Store if you were feeling real ambitious. Either way, it is very convenient to the nearby Jay Village Inn (we had a great dinner here) as well as Jay Peak (we spent 2 full days on the mountain; would say that the drive is 10 mins maximum).
The cherry on top was the adorable welcome basket waiting for us when we arrived along with a personalized card. There were local goods, snacks, handwarmers, etc. These are the types of touches that help to ensure that I will be back!

We had a lovely time at Liz and Ryan’s. the house was wonderful, the beds were comfortable and the wood pellet stove was supper cozy. We had a restful visit and the kids had endless fun in the games room playing basketball and foosball. The closet full of board and card games were also lots of fun. The ski hill was nice too but sadly the weather was a bit warm snot that many ski slopes were open

We booked this property for a family holiday get together. This year‘s theme was Christmas baking. We booked exactly the right property! The kitchen is fantastic the cozy living room was great for movies and doing puzzles. The house sleeps 10 so comfortable. All of the extra touches to make it just like home are incredible. Liz and Ryan go out of their way to make your experience amazing. If you’re going to be in the Jay area, You need to book this property… You won’t be unhappy! We had a great weekend…

The location is perfect and beautiful! Ryan and Liz are excellent hosts and their home was warm and inviting. I loved the decor and the kitchen was wonderful. Playing the basketball game was super fun! I love how Liz and Ryan had suggestion of things to do and places to visit. So thoughtful. We would recommend the Jay Way Chalet to others any day!

I’ve traveled extensively, and from hotels to B&Bs, there are always little reminders that you aren’t home. Well, I can tell you that when it comes to all these little reminders, Liz and Ryan have thought of everything, and have undeniably nailed a true “at home” away from home experience.
The space was attractively equipped, arranged, and furnished, for comfort and convenience. Describing the Chalet as “well appointed” simply doesn’t do it justice. Everything from the linens to the flatware were of superior quality. It felt like my family was house sitting for friends rather than staying in a rental property, and Liz and Ryan were easily accessible and were beyond helpful, offering excellent tips on local dining and attractions.
Located just minutes from Jay Peak, I can honestly say the Chalet would offer more comfort than the resort. I would be hard pressed to name anything that was lacking, and I hope to repeat the wonderful family memories in the years to come!

Amazing Place to stay
We rented this cabin as a group of 9. The owner was extremely helpful and had lots of great suggestions of things to do!
The area is great for relaxing, taking a trip to the nearby resort of town. Or even taking a day trip to Canada.
Plenty of room and three beautiful bathrooms, a beautiful kitchen, and very comfortable sleeping arrangements.
Rent this place… you won’t be disappointed.

Cozy ski weekend
Liz and Ryan did an outstanding job setting up the house for a great weekend at Jay peak, and they were readily available to answer any questions or resolve anything that came up! We loved staying at the Jay way chalet. The house, location, and amenities made for the perfect remote working/long ski weekend away. Our dog Levi loved how peaceful and calm it was for a nice relaxing weekend! The kitchen was fully stocked and we were able to cook just like we would at home all weekend. Plenty of room in the house for a large group, but cozy enough for just us and our dog. Liz and Ryan really thought of everything for this amazing ski house. We can’t wait for our next stay!!

We wanted to try out a new mountain and chose Jay Peak because of the other options for kids besides skiing (water park, etc) as our group had 4 kids ages 2-8. This house was a perfect layout for 2 families. Comfy beds and sheets with a great kitchen and mud room for coming back from the mountain. The pellet stove was really cozy also. We will come back to stay anytime we visit Jay Peak in the future!

This host provided homemade Christmas cookies at our arrival on December 21. That should illustrate the care this host takes in making guests feel comfortable. They were good cookies too! The other details that made our trip special: flannel sheets on comfortable beds; holiday decor including a six foot tree and lights; a well equipped kitchen that produced lasagna and damn good chili; extra towels in each of the three full bathrooms and warm rugs throughout the house. We were a group of six (one mother & four teenagers) with a dog. While the boys headed to the slopes ten minutes away, I enjoyed the community trails a mere two minute drive away. We will definitely return to the Jay Way Chalet when we return to Jay Peak.

The house was very clean and comfortable and perfect for our large group. Extra fun for the kids too with a room they could hang out and play games in. Super close to the mountain for skiing and other activities. We would definitely come back again!!

Great house, great location!
Had a small-family reunion, needed a place with lots of bedrooms and a big kitchen and things to keep the kids from being bored! The house is great, most has just been remodeled! Has a game room and was extremely comfortable for the 7 of us! The area is amazing, great hiking, it’s right around the corner from the base of the mountain. We went yo the water park, up the gondola, hiking to waterfalls! Thanks for opening your home it was a great trip, and amazing house

Stayed at Liz and Ryan’s awesome home for a month with two families (4 adults, 5 kids ages 12-3) in August. So clean, perfect layout for everyone to have the together time and alone time they needed throughout the month. When not at one of the nearby swim holes or spending the day at one of the fabulous NEK lakes, the kids spent hours running around the large yard or playing in the “fun room.” Most evenings were spent stargazing on the deck, or hanging by the fire. The house had everything we could ever need and more. The beds were cozy and comfy. The 3(!) bathrooms were lovely and ensured no one ever had to wait. And through all this, three of us adults had to work remotely, and the cell service, super fast WiFi and perfect office area nook made it a seamless experience (even with multiple kids and adults all on the internet at the same time). Our stay was a dream, made even more amazing by how attentive, responsive, and nice our hosts were, even mailing us the power cord and a few games for the Xbox so our kids could play. It’s so clear that they love this house, take such great care of it and want to share it with others. We had a fantastic time and didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay In the gorgeous Jay area with a large group!

great place to stay no matter what time of year
The historic chalet was such a great get away and not just a winter spot!
There is lots to do in northern VT in the summer time. The most exciting part of our stay was the cliff jumping into the nearby swimming hole Four Corners; definite rush. We followed that up with a more relaxing venture on the tram to the top of Jay Peak; such a great way to soak in the mountain views.
The chalet was clean and well equipped with all the amenities of home making it enjoyable for big breakfasts or dinners. All the beds are so comfy, everyone noted how well they slept. My daughter even said how luxurious the bathroom was with all the fancy products and a custom made sink.
Entertaining at the house is made easy with the large front deck, double grills, fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs, and a large yard for croquet or throwing a Frisbee. If a break from the outdoors is needed, the inside space is perfect for entertaining with a foosball table, double player Pop-A-Shot, wet bar, and multiple TV rooms. I think the kids are now semiprofessional foosball players!
We were sad to leave but it was a perfect way to end the summer!

all the comforts of home at the Jay Way Chalet!
this quaint chalet is tucked away in Northern Vermont, is just minutes from Jay Peak featuring some of the best skiing in New England. The house itself has clearly been updated in recent years to modernize, yet still keeping the ski chalet vibe intact. Spacious, clean and having a pellet stove in the living room really allow you to cozy up and feel good after a long day on the mountain. With plenty of yard space, and a good view of the mountain, this is my favorite spot in Northern Vermont, and I'm sure to come back again in the future. Thanks again to the excellent hosts Liz and Ryan!

Great People!
Due to the coronavirus and in the interest of our own and public health we had to cancel our trip only one day before leaving. Liz and Ryan extraordinarily nice and understanding and gave us a full refund due to such extreme circumstances. We will absolutely be staying here next year!

Excellent choice in the Jay Peak area
I stayed at the Jay Way Chalet for a long weekend with a large group of friends and family... The house was perfect for the 9 of us. It had plenty of space in the common areas, game room was awesome, all the beds are comfortable, bathrooms are very nice, kitchen was well stocked, modern throughout but with a ski house feel to it, everything we needed. We lucked out and arrived in the middle of a snow storm that made skiing amazing, 10ish minute drive to the mountain. Arguably the best Glade skiing on the east coast. Pellet stove is great since we didn't have to keep stacking wood or smell like campfire. Owners were also super helpful with the house and local tips. Highly recommend staying here, my group would definitely come back!

Jay Peak family ski trip, 2020
Great long weekend in this very spacious chalet with our family. This very cozy chalet has all the amenities of home. We all enjoyed the games and all the areas to relax. The driveway was maintained and we didn't have any problem getting in and out to travel to the mountain. Thank you so much Ryan & Liz for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your cozy chalet. We will definitely be back!! Sincerely, Pam & Joe
