Located in Carpinteria, this charming condo for $279 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This beautiful, newly remodeled little studio apartment is perfect for a couple looking to get away to the beach and have a cozy time together. The unit has a private patio with table and chairs. Located 200 yards from the nicest beach in Carpinteria, directly across from the Salt Marsh bird sanctuary, and walking distance to the town of Carpinteria. This unit has a small kitchenette, so you can prepare small meals. There's no oven or stove, and the kitchen is small, so it's not designed for preparing elaborate meals. There is a professional toaster oven, microwave, large electric griddle, and coffee maker, so you can prepare a nice breakfast, sandwiches, microwave meals, and simple meals. There's a large screen t.v., with lots of movie channels, and excellent internet wifi. The unit is approximately 260 square feet, so it is best suited for 1 or 2 people. The building has a community BBQ with a large table set in our beautiful gardens. There are also several garden sitting areas around the property. Carpinteria is a old-fashion little beach town rarely found anymore. The main town is around 1 mile square and can be walked in less than an hour. There are dozens and dozens of small local restaurants, and lots of local novelty shops. It's the kind of town where you'll feel safe walking around at night. The town is largely unchanged for the last 60 years, where my husband and his brother walked all around town, unsupervised, when they were only 6 or 7 years old. Santa Barbara and Ventura are 15-20 minutes away, so you have lots of large restaurants and things to do just a short drive away. The town is easily walkable and you'll see tons of people enjoying riding their bicycles all around town. There's also a local trolly that drives around town all day long and costs 50 cents to ride. It's also convenient to drive your car when you prefer not to walk. There is also an Amtrak depot about 3 blocks from the apartment, making it possible to visit Carpinteria without a car.

Went to partake in the 2023 Avocado Festival. Very clean perfectly situated location. Never took car out entire weekend within walking distance of beach and downtown. Highly recommend for a couple’s weekend.

If you want a very clean, stylish, and comfortable place to sleep for 1 or 2 while you’re out exploring the beaches, food, and shops of Carpinteria, stay here! Everything in this studio is top notch from the bed to the small fridge/freezer, to the beach towels and chairs, to the bathroom! The location is perfect - on the peaceful and quiet side of town by the salt water marsh but only a couple blocks from everything you need. I also met Elena and she was VERY nice! The negative reviews are absolutely absurd.

My husband and I were heading north and wanted to stay near Santa Barbara. We hadn’t heard of Carpinteria, but the apartment was affordable, took dogs and was near the beach. This place was perfect. It is small and it is at the back of the building, but that didn’t matter at all. It is squeaky clean, exceptionally well stocked, decorated nicely and in a perfect location. I wouldn’t hesitate to go here again!

My husband grew up in carpenteria and we have come to visit for years. We often stayed with his parents and camped. They have both passed now and this is the first time we have chosen a vacation rental for our stay. We appreciated Elena and her thoughtfulness and attention to details in the apartment. We slept well and enjoyed the immaculate gardens even though the weather was cold. We would stay here again.:)

Pros: Our unit was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was great, and the kitchenette had a Keurig with lots of coffee choices. Cons: Location of the unit (in the back of the building, off the parking area, next to what looked like a maintenance room, away from the nice-looking apartments overlooking a green courtyard in the main part of the building); low ceiling; no natural light; a tiny, dark patio walled off from the parking area with a view of the ladder and pipes propped up in the next unit over; very thin walls and ceiling, so you hear babies crying and other guests stomping around above you. My main issue: The price was not commensurate with what we received. I don’t mind paying when there are amenities such as a lovely view, or a Jacuzzi, or even a bathtub. Or paying to stay in a place that doesn’t have a lot of frills, but feels warm and welcoming. Tropic Shores says they offer “luxury apartments.” Maybe they do. Maybe those were the apartments we passed by when we walked through the courtyard and out to the parking area to reach our unit. Maybe the “modern studio” we stayed in is in a different rental category. I don’t know. All I know is, our unit felt like an afterthought—something tacked on to what could very well be a nice collection of garden apartments. I would never return, and I will never book anything through VRBO again.

Do you want to have your vacation start with a crying baby next door? How about an unwanted bugs, specifically silverfish, in your "kitchen"? How about scummy glassware and greasy dishes? How about having to take short showers because the hot water runs out? Then this is the place for you. It is close to the beach - it's only saving grace. But beware of hidden charges and lack of cooperation from the managment.

Exceptional apartment, comfortable, clean, spacious. Very nice host as well. One block from the beach and the Salt Marsh is directly across the street. Carpinteria is lovely and its just a three block walk to the main street and all the restaurants and bars and shops. Great fun.

This is a wonderful place for a couple. We had 2 dogs and it was perfect since they had a small patio to use. Elena and Mike are terrific hosts. The property location is perfect to get to the beach. The property is very well maintained.

This ground-floor studio was the perfect size for my wife and I, with all the amenities we needed. We loved the location, just steps from the beach, with a peaceful marsh across the street, and lots of good restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Carpenteria is such a nice town, and conveniently located for day trips to Santa Barbara, Ventura (channel islands boat tours), Solvang, Ojai, and of course L.A. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was so nice. Amenities were the best I have seen in a property rental and the location was ideal. Close to beach and easy walking distance to town for fine or casual dining. Quiet neighborhood and property and Mike and Elena were very responsive. Laundry on premises as well. We would stay again for sure!

The location can’t be beat, especially if you have a dog that likes the beach. The unit has a private patio, a ceiling fan and heater. I get really hot but with the patio door open and fan on it was just right. The refrigerator has a freezer side too - not usually available in studios. For the beach, there are 2 beach chairs, an umbrella and beach towels. They even supply tar wipes to get that stubborn stuff off your feet (or dog).
